We have got to organize. we got to rise up against our oppressors and get some footy on the tube. Fox news world carries the Foster's game of the round (in between figureskating and track meets) on Thurs at 200am and Mon at 9pm (I think - these are as reliable as any other info on the net) How can we, the sons and daughters of footy, stand for this treatment! I nominate Yohan to call the faceless corporate TV giants and complain. Second?

I whole-heartedly second your recommendation, gobbler! There's got to be some way to begin an e-mail campaign to get footy on tv here. If we bug them enough maybe they'll give in and kick on eof those rivetting lumberjack competitions for a footy game.
As it stands now, I'm in the process of trying to get my local bar to get me some satellite time. Wish me luck.

I am positive that AFL was shown within the last two years on ESPN. One of my friends in LA was always staying home from work on the day it was shown.
The problem could be that channel 7 and the AFL haven't put together a highlights package as yet for the overseas market. It could be an idea to e-mail AFL.com to find out if they are sending a tv package overseas. They have been pretty quick responding to my e-mails, so this could be another avenue.
I will also ask Paul (lager and curry fc) if he knows anything, seeing that he works for channel 7.

way to rise up an seize the means of production, my opressed brethren! I read about the TV rights dispute(going v. cheap BTW) and wonder if the AFL is even on TV regularly. It's always about money. That will change in our new workers paradise. Remember, two legs bad.

Well at least we see the same amount of footy as they do in Darwin. I don't see a lot of channel 7 coverage up there. What kind of people live up there Frank, some tough men and women I'm guessing?

I know I saw footy on ESPN (or 2) in the last two years. It was a highlight show with a featured game of the week, they only showed the most heated action, but you got a feel for the game. Never heard of Fox News World gobbler, I get 3 or 4 Fox stations but not that one.

I haven't seen it either. it's probably just a decoy they created to through us off the track. I will see if the web has some kind of total satellite tv guide site. (leg work that I can do from a comfy chair). I tried contacting the AFL, to see if they knew where or when the games were broadcast and got no reply.

Thanks Frank, Paul, and Mr. Keane. I look forward to hopefully seeing
some games. I get 2 Fox Sports Net channels and one Fox Sports World
(en Espanol) which usually carries futbol from Mexico and South America. I
have not heard of Fox Sports World WNVC, but I will definitely call my cable
provider to find out if I can receive this channel.

Breakthrough - ATT digital cable carries Fox Sports World channel #401 ! And local teams can be found on usfooty.com or usafla.com (unsure on that one). The chicago "affiliate" is the Swans (ick). I want to petition to have my asterik removed.

rugg, see also, http://www.afana.com/tvinfo/index.html - TV SCHEDULE - fox is the only carrier. they sell stuff relatively cheaply - no overseas shipping charges - however it does cost 3 bucks to get the stuff the hell out of west virginia.

That afana site gives some Fox World TV schedules, but now I got to find out how I'm gonna get that station! This is great, though. I'm sure my local bar can get it on one of FOUR satellites. Live footy will be had soon!

One thing to remember about shipping costs and prices is that the Aussie $ is only worth 0.60 US at the moment so goods would work out pretty cheap.

Maybe we should add usfooty.com to the pull down menu?

I was just about to write to Guru to do just that. I notice that he's also added the self-edit, sponsor, and blurb pages as well.

At least once this season, I want to get him to give a footy blurb on his daily blurbs page. It needs to be short, somewhat self-explanatory, and have to do with footy in particular. If anything comes up that you guys find, put it in a post.

I know somebody mentioned good quotes; how about this one: What is the crowd yelling?

In a case where there are a large number of supporters behind a team, they will try and influence the umpires decision by subtly
bringing to attention any infringements of the rules.

Sedgwick's will show any game if we can get a time. I'm handpassing this one to our ailing ruck rover, Yohan.

the afana listing shows that almost all the games are shown at noon or 100pm Eastern. May have to take a day off. . .

I was watching my local (LA) Fox Sports Net last Saturday and they carried
two hours of Fox Sports World 11:00 AM - 1:00 PM PST. They showed a
rugby match, however during the commercials they said that FS World was
now available in NY, maybe it will find it's way to more cable carriers across
the nation soon.

They also mentioned foxsportsworld.com, this site has information on TV
schedules, with Aussie Rules M, T, and W (highlight shows?), and a link to
local establishments that carry FS World across the country. Maybe old
news for you guys, but hopefully we are getting closer.

Just wondering if anyone has managed to find a regular Aussie Rules viewing spot or station yet?

I'll give edperl some more time before I post this weeks tipping comp.
