uuups mixed up this years PPG numbers for Batch (-3.0) and Griese (25.5)
Just a cruel little test if you really read it !

Sorry Hark, I have been very busy here at work today. My thoughts. First, DWIGHT IS HURT and OUT for 2-4 weeks. Get him on the bench ASAP.
Nice colours!
QB: You have to play Beuerlein, Griese and Blake. All three should do well against weak defenses this weekend. If you have to choose two, then choose Griese and Beuerlein. Whatever you do, do NOT play Batch.
I cannot believe how fortunate you/we are that you drafted Griese and Tiki! They are going to be great this year.
RB: Definitely start Tiki and Robert Smith. SF and Garner will get mauled.
WR: Too bad about Dwight being injured and out for 2-4 weeks with an appendectomy. Rice is the 3rd or 4th receiver in SF now, so screw him. Therefore, you have to go with Hayes, Rod Smith and either Chrebet or Connell. I like Chrebet (NY bias), but Connell is going up against a much weaker defense, and is playing at home, too boot.
Then the TE and K are as is.
Defense: Your choice between Patton of KC and Harrison of SD.
I hope this helped!

well Sir yesSir thanks Sir !
One day away from Football checking and I miss the Dwight "injury". Well I think I would have seen it til Sunday, but the sooner the better.
Hm sorry only 1 QB a week allowed, so 4 is maybe a waste of roster slots, but we can be sure to have at least 1 good QB matchup each week.
I thought of dropping Rice already but that is sooo disrespectful. Anyway what you have you done for me lately Jerry. I will drop him most likely after Sundays games for someone that shows up with some stuff. Maybe I'll get us Ricky Proehl, who is only #500 on the Rams depthchart, but used often in the red zone (TD's looming) Early favourite for next week Terence Wilkins (Colts announced they miss him a lot)
TE Hm the upcoming Rice demise may open the picture for a short TE intermezzo (I'll check for some nice matchup)
WR choice I like Chrebet more than Connell, but as you say tough D coming up and Chrebet is banged up a little bit. Connell is all of a sudden the primary receiver on a all of a sudden not so primary passing team, still the inside track for him
RB Tiki was a waiver acquisition after week 1 (for Fazande)
D big lotto here as it's quite even, but Harrison gets the nod as he has yet to disappoint me.

Seems like you have it down...too bad you are only allowed one QB. Otherwise, your choices make sense. Good acquisition for Tiki (amazing actually).

Long time no see.
I did find the thread when you first came over but wasn't sure who you were hiding from so I stayed hidden ;)
Beuerlein would be my first choice. I am hoping Griese has a horrible day so be forewarned, a little bias creeping in there.
My other choices would be Smith as RB with Barber on OF flex. Both should be able to pile up at least 100 yards and hopefully a TD or two.
Hayes at WR. He has been doing good and Carolina should be able to repeat passing performance against weak Atlanta secondary. I would start Rod Smith against my Raiders too. Even if Griese does have a bad day(please o please) Rod should still get his touches and score. The last OF flex would be between Chrebet and Connell. Dallas's secondary is in shambles and Connell should be the go to guy. He hasn't done squat thusfar, though. Chrebet is banged up and was listed as questionable earlier in the week. He is one of those gritty players that seems to get in the game and make the catches his team needs.
I have Connell on my bench in one league where I am taking a wait and see approach. It helps that I can only start two wr and chose Glenn and Freeman. In another league I would love to have either one. If I had two choose between the two I would say Connell. Just my 2 cents.

actually we are not hiding from anything, it's just that the Hockey Boards are about to get busy for the upcoming season. No need to clutter the board with OT stuff (that was not an issue during the summer) Frank P. was so nice to allow us in here as Aussie Rules season is finished.
(So that's the way to find us, look where nobody else is !) I think we will stay here for the Football season !

ah before I forget it !
Chad Lewis was the best TE available from waivers. Not a bad option vs the Packers. But Rotonews said that Chargers new starter Moreno will throw more to F.Jones so I got us Jacquez Green who had a nice little effort last week. I don't think he is an option this week as I like Connell better (for now), but the Bucs look quite good to me and Keyshawn gets all the double/triple coverage

Here is what I saw earlier in the week:
Wayne Chrebet (WR) NYJ More On This Player Sep. 11 Chrebet will play Monday night against New England. He's battling a strained lower leg. His effectiveness is anyone's guess. If you need to dig deep, consider Dedric Ward (Jets) or Troy Brown (Patriots) for fantasy purposes Monday night.
Connell is on one of my teams, Exit 42 I think. I haven't been happy with him so far. If he doesn't break out soon, they might put Thrash or newest signee Reed in there.
The General Fantasy Forum is always pretty dead, but I like jumping around to different forums.

Short Rap
Carolina choked and so with
Monday Night Football still ahead
we lead by 10 points
I'm skeptical about a win though
as we have only Connell left our opponent S.Davis and R.Ismail
It all depends on the Washington passing game if Connell can equal Davis' output I'm optimistic
if he can equal Ismail only, Davis will kill us.
if he continues to play like week 1 and 2 we are done already.

Baseball Note
Big Night comin' up, maybe the one that decides the league.
We still lead by 335 points, but our opponent has still 17 relieve games and 40 hitter games in hand. So our "virtual"lead is slim. Especially since the closers of the other guy (Wetteland, Hoffman, Rocker) are exteremely hot and some of his hitters (Hidalgo, Alou) are unbelievable right now.
Tonight our pitchers might make or break it. Hampton (bench) Maddux D'Amico Estes all playing and if they play as of late, this will be huge. If they bomb, well !
So let's hope for good night.

Estes has a huuuuuge advantage. Home game against a lousy team and pitcher. He is a must.
Hampton vs. Maddux. We have both, right? Ugh. I would take the home team, Braves, and Maddux, who is red hot. Mets also typically do poorly head to head vs. Atlanta.
D'Amico is a definite after his last outting. His mini-slump is over -- his opponent sucks, and his pitching opponent is either a rookie or a former highly touted youngin' who has since been relegated to bull-pen chores.
So, in review: I would choose Maddux, Estes and D'Amico. I also would not think it be a bad move to also add Hampton. I predict a 2-1 type game in Atlanta tonight (watch, it'll be 11-10 instead!).

I had the 3 pitchers lined up just as you said (that spells disaster) I thought also about Hampton, but only 1 pitcher can win and the 10 points for win or -5 points for a loss are critical factors. It's very hard to make up for that just by pitching a good game.
So I cross fingers and say Maddux was better as of late and has a better chance to win. Hampton might have a good game too, but it's better to start just 1 guy a game and save the other for a better matchup (Good theory as long as you pick the right one)
With Maddux, D'amico and Estes going tonight we have 12 Starter Games left. This will be split up nicely between Maddux, Pettitte, Hampton, D'Amico, Mussina, Estes and Zito and and there are better matchups ahead for these guys than Hampton at Atlanta.
I will most likely bench Pettitte vs Wells also, since there is too much risk of loss involved
I like the Estes at home vs a bad team things better

Gotcha Hark. Looks like we are "set" for tonight. I can't see you losing this thing, even though it's mathematically possible. You da man!
Back over to hockey boards...
