Subject: Virtual Sports game Posted by: Frank p - [314185] Tue, May 08, 05:08 The first round of scores are up and it looks like Hatters complained about nothing, as he has the lead in this one too. I'm still trying to figure out all the scoring idiosyncracies, but I'll get it sooner or later. I'm hoping to look at some trades before Friday night, if study allows. | ||||||

Apparently if you add players from your bench, you receive their points as if they were on your team. In addition, if you sell and buy a player, you also get that player as if he was on your team all along. This league is driving me crazy! | |||||

I fine tuned my squad, culling out the injured and not playing, and when I added the new players, it credited me with all their points up and through Round 6. Surely this will be remedied, but if not, I gotta say its lonely at the top. | |||||

This game sure is confusing....... I log in before round six and swap darcy and grant for hilton and someone else... then i come back after round six and see that i'm on top of the ladder despite darcy and grant still being in my team and because they didn't play i got 2 zeros.....and brent harvey who i bought after round 3...only gives me 100 or so total points because he didn't play the first two rounds...... i then look at the leaders today and i'm in second place...something weird is going on...... and Frank P just to let you know....the power are gonna go down this week..... | |||||

To be able to pick up players and gain their points AFTER they play goes against all fantasy sports rules. I have better games to concentrate on than this farce. Therefore I will let my team play on without my guidance. I figure all I'll have to do is pick up a bunch of big guns at the end of the season for a come-from-behind win. If you guys figure this thing out let me know. I'll be at AFL.com beating up on edperl. ;-) | |||||

Perhaps we are spoiled by the professional manner in which Frank P runs the tipping comp. and afl.com in general runs their fantasy site, but this fantasy game just stinks for the following reasons: (1) the site started four weeks late or almost one-sixth of the season is gone; (2) requiring an e-mail from Frank P as opposed to being given a password; (3) it allowed Frank P to "inherit" Brews team and then kicked Brew out of the league; (4) the draft made no sense because it allowed those who drafted first to get all the best players; (5) the ability to trade players and inherit their points is antithetical to fantasy sports; and (6) the ability to trade players and move up in the standing only applied to those who first knew about it and took all the good remaining players left (ugghhmm ...edperl). Unless I hear otherwise, my team will play on with no manager | |||||
