G'day everyone, sorry I've been missing this last week but exams and final essays are upon me. Monday is my last day for about four weeks, so I'll be back on the ball then.
Just wanted to remind you all that this is a split round and you only have to pick from the: Essendon v Adelaide Geelong v Bulldogs Fremantle v St Kilda Melbourne v Lions games. Good luck!!

Hello, everyone! It appears that the little lady and I agree once again. I know, I couldn't believe it either. This is what we consider the first half of a perfect 8:
Dons Dogs Saints Lions

Frank, did you have me down for the correct 4 picks from last week?
At first I was bummed with only 4, but realized that I'd have certainly picked Essendon last week, which would have been 5 of 8--not too shabby. So I went 4 of 7, and that I can live with.

A lot of 'aints fans this week. With three injuries, plus the emotional loss of Nathan Burke, I thought it was an easy tip the other way. Or maybe you guys know something I don't know?

I have a liguistics question: Does the defintion of pulling a 'perl' include forgetting to tip in time? It appears that edperl has found a way to make sure Frank P does not tip the same games--not to tip at all. I'm sure he's going to blame the Coopers.

He pulls a 'perl' for the Bombers game! This is a shocker with things so tight at the top right now. This will bring many tipping fans to wonder if edperl has lost the edge. Has he made a pact with Frank p to throw the race? Is he too focused on the NASCAR season to be effective at footy?
There are many questions, but realistically only one probable answer: He probably got loaded last night and passed out onto the keyboard. :)
His tips looked like this this morning: esiuiunyciouwmxclcz, hjvc;,hfxrufr gieruirqehyrwlwAMXO;IEJSFSMISAEMCX;OISAMIORUEMXOIUSAEOIOIEOIMEWUR;OIEWUROM;WEUIIU.

All of the above are true, gentlemen.
I'm off to the Chicago version of Footy Park, Wrigley Field to see my beloved Cubs, life is good!
Crows :-) Dogs Dockers Lions
It's only fair I give Frank p and others a fighting chance.

ha ha edperl. Acting all nonchalont about missing the first game, but I know the truth. The stomach will churn all weekend knowing that one missed tip could be the difference between second.........and third spot. ;)

3 of 4 so far, with the Bombers, Lions, and Saints making me look smart for once. Geelong had to ruin things, though. At least I'm even with the master. Hey Frank, did you make a survivor pick this week?

The Saints came through big time, but with all the new injuries I think it will be a while before I tip them again. Ms Pez convinced me to take the Saints. I finally relented and it paid off.
Just a note to my EFF friends, Ms Pez is expecting a Little Pezhead, scheduled to arrive in February. Our first, and we're excited. Any advice from the existing fathers is greatly appreciated!

Congrats!
My first just turned 4 yesterday. It's among the most joyful and frustrating things you'll ever go through. Also the most leveling. Things that used to seem important pale in comparison to your child.

Thanks, pd! Many of my friends say much the same. We're waiting to find out the sex, at least for the first one. Either way, I have plans for a kid that plays great softball, just like Dad. (Don't say anything, edperl, Brew and PTiger!)

Softball?, Order yourself a junior footy and toss it the little tyke's crib. He's guaranteed to be a Grand Champion some day, or at least best and fairest.

Good point, perl. Maybe I can have my kid be the first Yank to play in the AFL. Frank, have any Americans ever played AFL level footy?

Hopefully we can find out more on the subject, with Frank's help. I'm no sure if we've ever had an Aussie on an American football team either.
Anyhow here are my and Ms Pez's picks for the second half:
Ms Pez: Eagles-Unlikely. Hawks Swans-This could be trouble. Port-Should be good game.
Mine: Pies Hawks Tigers Port-maybe trouble in the Blues camp will spill onto the field.
Good luck all, and thanks for names so far. :)

I do think there is a Yank playing in the AFL, I'll find out for sure today. Don't you guys follow the NFL? DARREN BENNETT (Chargers punter)is an Aussie.

Here's the final four of the week: Collingwood Hawthorn Richmond Port! Port! Port!
On a related note, I read that the two current leaders in Victoria's two biggest tipping competitions, Carlton Draught Sportspick and Tipstar, are led by women. The article stated that men over-analyze everything while the girls just pick who they think will win. (Probably true) Ms. Pez, time to step up to the plate;)

sorry i missed the first four tips for this round, but my father-in-law passed away last tuesday and my wife and i were out of town last week. it's been a sad time at the Yohan household recently. he was a good man and my wife was very close to him.
here are my picks

No perl this week:
Pies seems to be a popular theme this week Hawks the floppers will be waving Swans Most popular team down under? Blues this one's a hunch, but I gotta think despite his mild rebuke of the boy's, Big Jack loved their antics off the field last weekend. The mates will get this one for their loud mouthed leader.

After a few lovely days at the beach, it's time to reveal the 2nd half of this week's selections:
Collingwood Roos Richmond Port!
Congrats, rugg and Ms. Pez! As for names, the names Dyna, Matilda, Val, and Walt all mean POWER. Just food for thought. Or you could always go with "Soda". :)
