Subject: Tipping Results: Round 21; The Round of the 'Perl'

It is with a heavy heart that I post the results...Congrats to edperl and his eight. The real challenge for those chasing him now will be to post our tips AFTER him this week, as we all know a full-blown Turtle is on the way! ;-)

Frank, I have a plan that may help one or both of us catch edperl. I assume he will try to turtle us. Obviously that can't happen if we don't have the same tips, but if we do that could sink us. I DO NOT have any plans of conspiring to make any certain tips, but I want to protect myself from the dreaded Mutant Ninja. Also, I have a problem. I'm leaving town Thursday afternoon to attend my college's first football game of the season and I won't have access to a computer that night. If I tip early I have no defense to the 'T'.
What I'd like to do is e-mail my tips to you if that is an option. Then you could post them for me some time close to game time of the Friday game. That way I know I'll be able to differentiate edperl by a couple to at least give me a fighting chance. Obviously I don't want to cheat, and I don't think edperl would necessarily be wrong by turtling (after all, it's ok to walk the big hitter to try to end a threat late in the game), but I think I can catch him. After my first 2 stupid picks this week I need to redeem myself. Let me know if you can do this. If not, I'll try to tip late some other way.
And edperl, I know your horse may trip down the stretch. Even PTiger can catch you with an Eight.;)

Rugg, I'm only too happy for you to email your tips to me and I'll post them one minute before kickoff. I'm sure edperl won't mind if we take advantage of this situation to put him back in his rightful place......ie third. :))
I also can't believe that I tipped against my beloved Power and cost myself the first prize. I just shake my head in disbelief, but must congratulate edperl on a mighty effort.
I'll post rules for the finals tipping comp later too. They will be the same as last year.

Gentlemen, I am overwhelmed by your heart felt congratulations. Why would I turtle anyone and risk my second consecutive perfect eight? It's just that kind of small thinking that has landed you back in the pack. Bring on Footygate, aka "conpiracy to topple edperl", I am more than up to the challenge.
