We're going to be a bit more realistic this week. I think this will get at least 6:

Collingwood
Richmond
Adelaide
Roos
Essendon in what should be a classic
Hawthorn
PORT!
Western Bulldogs

I'm seriously considering not tipping this week and getting the default lowest score minus one. I'm sure it would be a better score than the following:

Carlton
Melbourne
Adelaide
Roos
Brisbane
Hawthorn
Western Dogs
Port

Good luck, this should be a great weekend of footy.

It appears we have the first official "perl" of the season, and by none other than edperl himself. I saw his tips were made at 5:29 am Chicago time, no doubt due to the effects of several malt beverages on Thursday night. ;))

I also think that the time difference between Chicago and Melbourne is 16 hours. The Blues-Pies game began at 7:45 pm Melbourne time. If my calculations are right, that would put edperl's tip for the game well after the start of the game and actually well into the game. Therefore edperl missed the deadline for the game and the tip is null and void.

Let this be a lesson to all you youngsters out there. Make your tips at work before you leave for the pub. Of course, we'll need a consensus for any official action. Sorry edperl, but your legend lives on...

Nice try rugg, its obvious you are still smarting from taking that "Pie" in the face courtesy of Big Jack.
Perhaps a little bit more attention to detail, and you would realize the Board documents time of posts as Eastern Standard Time. Thus my 4:29 A.M. C.S.T. post with a 13 hour time differentiation between Chicago and Melbourne (Chicago is on Daylight Savings Time and Melbourne is Not) was a comfortable 16 minutes inside the deadline.
This was just an early season test of my ATDS "Anti Turtling Defense System" which will no doubt need to be deployed later in the year.
I guess we have just seen one more example of how hard life at the top can be as reigning "2001 Footy Brain of the Year".
Please cast your petty jealousies aside and lets have a spirited tipping competition. After all someone always has to finish second. I suggest you make that your goal.

Perl, Perhaps I,ve got it wrong, but my observation of the current time zones shows a 15 hour time difference between Nw York and Melbourne.
Also Melbourne IS on daylight savings time. Please refer to www.wolrdtimezone.com. Although it was my understanding there would be no math in this job, I think you missed it. Don't get too comfortable wearing the crown. ;)

Rugg, I too saw the unusual temporal abnormality of edperl. I also thought it was odd that the usually loquacious edperl only posted his tips and did not include any side comments. He must have been sober enough to tip but too inebriated for any 'special comments.'

I have to agree with Rugg on this one. I think that it against the spirit of a true tipping competition to allow people to tip a game after it has started. His fear of being turtled has finally done himself in.

Wow, another brutal week. At least Port finally got on the winning side in style. And Brisbane is looking like the class of the field; of course Essendon looked unbeatable this time last year and look where it got them.
