0 Subject: 2001 vs 2002 point totals for hitters

I went to build my roster at TSN and was wondering how to get the most for my money. Obviously, just looking at where a player ranked last season will not work, because TSN now charges -2 per out instead of -1 per out. I compiled a list of the top 25 outfielders and looked at their At-bats, BA, Hits, Outs, 2001 formula points and 2002 formula points.
There were some surprises.
If somebody can suggest a way for me to post this (its in excel 97) other than with image hosting, I'll be more than happy to. For now a simple cut and paste is all I can do:
.
Player....... AB.. BA Hits Outs Old New % change
Barry Bonds 476 .328 156 320 3325 3005 .90

Juan Pierre... 617 .327 202 415 1764 1349 .76
Garrt Andrsn 672 .289 194 478 1760 1282 .73
..
There are a few obvious things from this. The players with the most at-bats suffer the largest point swings (note Ichiro coming in 450 points lower with the 2002 formula).
What you do with the info is purely up to you guys. One thing I'm considering is walk totals. Obviously players who walk more will have less At-bats and as such less chances to record the -2 this year. To me, that greatly lowers the value of guys like Ichiro and Juan Pierre who hack at everything.
If anybody wants to make suggestions to improve the quality of info on the charts or the quality of how the charts look when I post them, please do so.

Open the Excel document in Word, and then with Word you can go to File/Save As and select Web Page (then HTML format). After saving in Word 97 as web page, open an internet explorer window and go to File/Open. Then Browse to your Word/Web Page document. It will open in the Browser. Then go to View/Source. When the source code opens, choose Edit/Select All, then choose copy. Come back to the thread imput box, click "yes (for HTML table imput)," and paste the source code in the box. You should be good to go. FWIW, it's easier on Excel 2000. A lot less steps.

Having said all that, Guru has updated the sartables with this info already, and it can be sorted lots of different ways, FWIW. Feel free to play around though. ;)

Just a minor comment.

Your % change category should actually be...

-((Old - New ) / Old ) * 100)

Thanks for the help on converting excel onto the boards Mike D., and yes, I saw guru's sartibles had a section for old stats in the new formula. Everything came up as -2.0 or -2.5. I did not see where he actually converted the 2001 stats into a point total with the 2002 forumla, though.
And AP10..thanks I'll update that.
