Gang:

We launched our Roto game today at:

http://fantasygames.sportingnews.com/baseball/fullseason/roto/

We're proud of this game, and think it'll be competitive for the following reasons:

1) We believe we'll have the best looking and easiest to use Live Draft out there. (screenshots with details on splash page.)

2) Unlike some of our competitors, we'll be offering CASH prizes for our winners.

3) We're offering the option of AL/NL only leagues.

4) We're qualifying players at multiple positions.

5) We're offering very solid, very cheap bundles with Ultimate Baseball (our salary cap game).

We believe that this is a big step for us toward becoming your complete fantasy games solution. We hope that you give us a shot!

Can we get a fix for the Ultimate game? or at least some answeres as to why the prices are so screwed up when you try to sign up? See this thread: http://rotoguru1.com/cgi-bin/mb/base/13989.shtml?1043344831

Hmmm...looks interesting, but I'm not sure if I want to go back to the 12 team thing. My problem with these leagues is that half the teams quit, some teams are in collusion, the competition tends to fade after the all-star break. I'll probably pass.

I think this is a caching issue. Please take the item out of your cart (should be a link on the right side of the commerce page), logout, then log back in.

Still no luck Erik. I emptied the cart, closed the browser. Went back to the site. clicked buy team, changed quant. to 3 and it says it's $54.

So the most you can win is $5? ($20 prize -
$15 entry fee) I must be missing something
here.

Pimpski:

The prize per division is really meant as an incentive to keep things competitive. At our pricepoint, almost none of our competitors offer prizes, or prizes that are close to the same value.

Erik, I tried to send you an email at the above listed address and it got returned with the following error: "550 Requested action not taken: mailbox unavailable"

Can you send me an email so I can reply back and hopefully get that to work? Thanks.

Hmm. Did you try it without the period?

ebarmack@sportingnews.com

If that doesn't work, KKB, I'll reach you on Monday.

So other sites actually offer prizes that are LESS then the entry fee? I don't get it.

No, other sites don't offer any prizes at all for roto leagues. The 20$ basically gives a free team in a pay league for the winner.

Isn't the yahoo version free? Why would you
do this one over the yahoo one?

ukula - re#2, I read through the rules and I'm a little concerned about the trade process being so loosely defined. Does it require a majority to approve or deny a trade? It appears so based upon how I interpreted the game rules.

In my 5 years playing Sandbox Rotisserie baseball, it's been my experience that getting 4 coaches to block a trade in a 10 team "public" league is nearly impossible. I can't imagine having a trade blocked if it required 7 votes to deny it. They'd all pass the 2 day waiting period & go through.

Eric - Is there any appeal or after 2 days is a trade final? What happens when 1 team trades all it's scrubs for another's studs on Friday at midnight? The trade goes through Sunday at midnight in most cases, that what.

I doubt if I'll play unless a bunch of gurupies form a league. I've never been a great "roto" scorer anyway (just ask species). I think this would've been our 4th year in a "keeper" roto league if it'd stayed together. I'm posting what I found in the "Game Rules" regarding trades just in case I missed something about how they're going to work. As it stands, they're a litle too loose for me to play with strangers.

How do trades work?

Once the draft is finished, you will be able to offer trades to other teams in your division by following links on your team page. Trades can involve any combination of hitters and pitchers but might require one team or both to drop some existing players from their roster in order to make room for the traded players. After a trade is accepted by both parties, there will be a waiting period during which managers in your division may vote to allow or disallow the trade. If the trade is disallowed, it will be canceled immediately. If it is allowed, it will be processed immediately and you will be able to place the players involved in your lineup for the next roster freeze. If the trade is neither allowed or disallowed by your division, it will be automatically processed after a 2 day waiting period, after which the players can be placed into your lineup for the next roster freeze.

#14, my main reason:

People who pay to play are far less likely to drop out, and thus the competition should be better. (Yahoo leagues are dull when half the teams quit by July.)

Erik -

Are you going to address the golf game issues that you promised to 2 weeks ago? You said you would take care of it as soon as you got back from dealing with family issues.

It is frustrating to see you promote another game when there are issues that are nearly a year old that are still unresolved.

Erik,
*face turning red* I think I figured out the problem. I was not clicking on the "Buy 3 teams Link" from the main page. I was clicking on the buy a single team link on a different part of the page and changing the quantity to 3. Once I clicked on the appropriate link everything worked just fine. sorry for the confusion and troubles.
