For the draft, Yahoo requires that you have the new Microsoft Java Machine installed. You can get it by updating your version of Windows threw Windows Update, or by downloading and installing it from this site:

Site.

Without it you won't be able to log into the draft, and obviously that would be a major problem. There is also a test program in the yellow box on our league page, that tests your system to make sure the draft applet will run.

Note: Microsoft has been sued by Sun Systems, and a court order has forced Microsoft to remove all Java products from their website. This is why I had to find Java Machine at a 3rd party website.

Wow. Surprised AP10 is in this league too, as inactive as he is in the Gurupie20 Basketball league.

For managers who aren't at the draft, is is possible to have their picks made without having to wait to whole 90 seconds?

The 90 second thing is actually set in stone? or that's just a number thrown out by rfs?

I wouldn't be against shaving that time down to 60 seconds. I think that is plenty of time to make a pick plus it'll speed up the draft.

yeah, yahoo gives you 90 seconds. If a manager isn't there, the first time it'll wait the full 90 seconds. Subsequent turns it'll pick his top ranked player in a couple of seconds.

as someone said on the yahoo league page, if you're going to be away at all, there's a checkbox you can mark saying so, and it won't wait the full 90 seconds. Also, it's a good idea to set up a queue in the draft app in case you're disconnected for some reason.

Just a friendly reminder...

Please refrain from discussing UNDRAFTED playrs during the draft. Dont' say things like "I almost took Player X, but he is injured" .. or.... "I'm trying to decide between Player and Player Y" ... "Does anyone know who is the Closer for Team XYZ"

Once they're off the board, feel free to comment or heckle to your heart's content!

I feel I had an excellent draft until round 13, after that I feel like I made a few bad picks. However, I am extremely happy with my first 4 rounders, Berkman, Mulder, Hudson, and Morris.

I feel like my draft was the worst ever! But then I see how my hoops team is doing and I'll backoff that comment. Bernie Williams went way too early. It was an auto pick. I couldn't get to Matt Morris fast enough when my q was gone and the players I hadn't crossed off my list yet were already taken (very fast draft--couldn't keep up). I didn't plan on taking Schmidt that early either, but I can live with him--but bernie would have still been around for the next round if I wanted him. The whole draft was frustrating for a lot of us--but that's the nature of a deep league I guess. Great job guys. You sure did your homework!

RSF, you can go to league overview page then on left hand side it has the list of managers/waiver priority and draft results and other things listed.

FYI:

Started adding drafted players in manually to the CBS site. Please be patient as I am not going to be around much this afternoon. I'd love to get them all in today, but like I said yesterday--am not guaranteeing anything until tomorrow.

Please check your teams (trying to go in draft order except for my own team) for accuracy. Also note, that players listed as UTIL players only for eligibility are NOT listed on your teams right now. CBS does not have a util slot to put them on your team manually. For me to be able to put burks on my team, I had to add him manually via my own team and use commish controls to override the block I had on doing that. I will be able to fix those problems, just not as I manually enter them via draft tools apparently.

Also, I/we will have to manually enter waiver priority. It will be in reverse order of draft to begin with. Everyone will be able to add one player to compensate for a DL slot in CBS. Since there is NO DL, it is your call to hold or dump an injured player. No stashing. This "extra" slot can be used immediately by using your Waiver pick, or you can take a chance by waiting until the remaining players become a FA and picking them up right away. Your call.

Once I/we enter all teams, I/we will go back and figure out a way for your DH players to be entered on your team. This must be done before we allow WW/FA process to begin.

Was anxious throughout the whole draft. I drafted at least 4 guys much earlier than I wanted to, but gauging from the chat reaction I think that turned out to be good for me.

Pitching help will be thin, so I'm worried about my staff, but I recognize that nearly everyone else is in the same boat.

This should be fun!

I have all kinds of closers, but I've been in so many drafts, that I didn't realize until this morning how this I was on starters! I have quality closers/MR help that will want to move as the season progresses. Guess I can jump out to a lead in saves first.

That Nevin pick is going to be over my head all year, but other than that I think I drafted reasonably well. I feel I have a solid core of young guys that I can count on from year-to-year. (I've got Santana in just about every league I'm in, I sure hope he doesn't bust.)

I think alot of people are thin on starting pitching. What do you consider thin? I actually only have 5 starters, and Santana/Weaver are 5th starters/possible relief pitchers. Still, with that high IP number, I tried to compensate by taking a few quality setupmen who can add good ERA/WHIP/K's for their 75 IP.

Should be a fun year. Next up, WW feeding. Lots of young guys out there that can make or break our seasons...

Well, if I knew how to judge talent I'd know how to judge my team. And I probably would have picked better as well. As it is, my crew is fairly loosey-goosey, but the season's not over for me yet!

At least I hope not...

Actually, AP10, I rechecked. Both of those were listed as a diff. position and are now added. They are put in the position of CBS' choosing. If they are listed as DH as their first position, they have to be added manually via add/drop.

One thing I noticed... the minimum for our bench is 7. Was that on purpose? Do you want all of us filling up to 23 players?

Rogue, I have set my lineup 4 times today and it keeps reverting. I need to go in and relook at the setup. rfs just did it really quick to get it up and I went back over it and made some changes as I saw discrepencies. There still seems to be a couple more things I want to tweak. Thanks. Teams through Twarpy are now in. I was able to be online today afterall.

OK, tweaked it again. That should at least let your lineups be set right for now. We all ahve 22 players right now and it was set for 23 max with all the mins. that go along with 23. Since we drafted an even number--the settings would have been right after the pickup. I made it so you don't even have to pickup that extra player at all and still have a legal lineup.

Still not working. Everytime I manually add a DH/Util player to a person's lineup, my individual lineup goes back to default with warnings. No clue why it is going bonkers on me, but I'll be darned if I set it again before all the lineups are entered and corrected (if need be).

When I re-entered promize's team after the crash (and for the 3rd time). I forgot to put his team in there again and it defaulted to AAs--so I jsut traded them rather than to clear one team and re-add his individually. ;)
