This thread is dedicated to the degree of how ridiculous people in Yahoo Public Leagues are for dropping players. I'll start us off: Eric Hinske Mike Cameron |

1 guy in one of my leagues released Kevin Millwood so he could pick up Radke last week. Not ridiculous I suppose but he could have dropped Tim Worrell, Darren Dreifort or Javy Lopez, since he has IRod.

Tree, no its not one you are in with me. But Wiggs is in it. I hate to say this, but I rejected that trade. The guy that offered it to me is doing this for the first time. He saw Aurilia go off the other night and hasn't seen Chipper doing anything yet so he thought it was a good deal. Its a competitive league and I'd like it to stay that way. A few of us are starting to step up and help the guy instead of taking advantage of him before he depletes his whole team.

In my H-H league there's been a few but the tops is dropping Pedro (after his 10 run game) for Contreras and then posting "I do not know how to win at Fantasy baseball.". Of course it is a beginners league I'm in just to fill it out. Didn't stop me from putting in a waivers claim though.

I just saw a guy in my league drop Eric Gagne... I need him BAD but don't know how the waiver priority goes in Yahoo. Is it by reverse ranking at the time the waiver expires?? Last placed guy gets first choice or something else?
Anyone??

I was offered: Eric Chavez and Bobby Abreu for Pudge today in my Draft & Trade League.. Naturally I took it! Ha! Too easy! By the way, what's up with all the haters, I think this thread is funny and interesting, can I get a little support from fans of the thread, (would be a nice self-esteem booster)? As you can see, I don't rate my own threads.

Follow up to my post 43:
Next day the guy dropped Ramon Ortiz for Josh Fogg and I then plucked Ortiz off of waivers for Sabathia (he was my worst starter). Today he dropped Sturtze for Carl Pavano, which is pretty good, but then dropped Fogg for Matt Kinney.
To recap:
Before: Kim and Ramon Ortiz After: Kinney and Pavano

Well, if Loaiza counts, then I'm guilty of dropping Blalock in order to pick up Biggio from the waivers. =)

heh, Loaiza may not count in another 2 months. But for right now, he's been pretty darn good and has a really nice match up. At the same time, I'm guilty of dropping Jake Peavy in 1 league.

Look at Loaiza's splits from the past few years and you will see he always dominates in April but then invariably has sucked in every other month.
my league has had no dumbass drops (and I am happy about that)...I picked up Karim Garcia a week or two ago...not a big name but I was happy to grab him...I dropped Carl Everett a few weeks ago only to pick him right back up.

Someone dropped Troy Percival in one of my leagues. My question is should I use my waiver priority to grab him? Is there something wrong with him that I don't know about, or is this just a case of someone getting despirate? His numbers look horrible, but if he's not hurt or losing his job then I'm not too worried. I've tried to find some info, but I can't track anything down. All season I've held out, and right now I've got 1st waiver priority, and I'd hate to waste it. However, I do need another closer pretty bad. Right now I've got Baeze, Carter, Kline, Rivera, and Rhodes.
whats the verdict, claim or hold for greener pastures?

Add this one to the list of most ridiculous drops.
Apr 20, 6:01 am PDT Millwood, Kevin (SP-Phi) drop Beloit Bombers Waivers
Apr 23, 1:30 am PDT Millwood, Kevin (SP-Phi) add Waivers Stanford Sucks
I figured Millwood was good enough to use my #1 waiver priority on. Too bad I didn't pick him up in TSN.

Somebody dropped Lance Berkman!!! but I wasn't paying attention at the time so I wasn't able to grab him. Rivera was dropped in my d&t league, but my waiver priority wasn't high enough to get him. This is really more of a minor one but Aaron Boone was dropped in my Tsn D&T league (seriously, I bet any frequent Rotoguru-goer could win one of those leagues. It is worth the $10 folks)

OK, here is the kicker. I just traded him to him in a deal involving Pedro Martinez about a week and a half ago. Needless to say, I do have a waiver claim in on him...

OK, I got Halladay, then promptly offered him up in a package deal for Schilling, which was accepted.
So, I love Halladay. I drafted him, traded him for Pedro, picked him up off waivers (when the guy dropped him), then traded him for Schilling.
Now I doubt this guy will drop him, but I would LMAO if he did. I'd waiver claim him again and try for Randy! LOL...

The trades were legitimate trades (involving other players), but the guy waivering Halladay shortly after acquiring him was, uhm, less than brilliant. It is a Head-to-head league which changes Roto-stratagy a little, but, come on, you need to keep the talent as your core and rotate the chumps.

2 different people in the same league. One dropped Lo Duca and the other dropped Winn. Granted, both players are off to slow starts, but here were the moves... Lo Duca > JT Snow, leaving him with Mayne at C (1B was not a need for him either) Winn > C. Johnson, leaving him with Jer. Giambi and C. Johnson as his best bench options.
