0 Subject: LTK's (Long term keepers)

I'm starting to compile a list of LTK's, those players we all wished we could have started the year with, but sacrificed points early on in lieu of building RV.

Now with nearly $10 million in the coffers from opening day, is it time to gradually supplant the high flyers for the steady eddys (or Manny's) in some cases? My short list would include:

Irod/Posada, Thome/Helton/Bags, Soriano/Kent, Arod/Nomar/Tejada, Rolen/Pujols, Bonds/Manny/Bernie/G Anderson/Sosa/Vlad

At the end of last year my roster had 7-8/9 positions filled with LTK's. Today I have 3.

How many LTK's do you all have today and when will you start to migrate in order to usurp the top 100?

Who else would you add to the list?

How about a pitcher list?

Not a bad list.. The thing I've been trying to decide is which order to lock in your LTK's.... I drafted IROD due to his relatively cheap price. After that, I'm thinking...
Soriano - IMHO, he will have the largest point differential between himself and whomever is second at second.
AROD/Tejada
1st outfielder
Third Base
1st base/Second Outfielder
Second Outfielder/1st base
Third Outfielder.

Just my thoughts.... Anyone else have an order of acquisition...

I drafted Irod on my day-late team too, and it also has Helton/Soriano. I think after C/2B/SS, its not a huge deal which positions are upgraded. Bookie's list looks solid, and I'd probably update it based on how certain studs are doing. (If Pujols comes back with a vengence then 3rd base would rise up my list.)

Also, its important to decide weather to pump cash into pitching or hitting. In the next month or so I'll be locking up Pedro and maybe RJ if he can return to normalcy. (is that a word?)

Craig Biggio has been a nice LTK for me. He is flexible, relativley cheap, a good point producer and is headed back to Enron for a homestand.

Vidro is a great LTK without volatility.

Rogue, I absolutely agree with your amendment that it somewhat depends on players are doing.... And especially the Pujols thing... He will be a quick addition to my team when he's pronounced healthy and if he comes out hitting...

I drafted Irod and Bonds, still have Irod but went from Bonds and Durazo to Helton and Sosa. THe Jury is still out on that one but I am not wasting a trade in those spots unless someone drys up very badly. Im hoping Blalock stays consistent as well. I have thought of trading him but he strung a couple great games together and changed my mind.

And now the other side. Here is a thread not advertising a player in the title. I may have to rethink my position concerning threads by On the 85th year .

How about Mora, Melvin Mora. He looks like a great long term keeper;-)
