My Rotowire year long subscription expires this week. In general I have been quite disappointed with Rotowire and think it has slipped considerably. It's pitching rotations are useless and it has very little inside info on injuries. I guess the last straw is readinbg on the Giants virtual dugout that the SF staff knew 3 days ago Schmidt would miss this start but neither I nor Rotowire knew this. I am about to let the membership expire. Does anyone have a different better opinion of Rotowire? Or a better site for injuries? I'd like to get something for my $50. Thanks. |

I hadn't notice much slipping myself. I use Rotowire a couple of times a week along with other sources, and still find them to be as on the ball as anyone else.
The real strong points of Rotowire have to do with their draft tools (their cheat sheets are very good) and their better-than-average minor league news.
Also, some of their news is funny as hell.

I'll be renewing for rotowire, but I think you can prob do just about as well with a combination of rotoworld.com and rototimes.com.
Rotoworld.com has the real wit in its player news as well, IMO.

Uh... ESPN.com has Rotowire's "skinny" readily available in several places (including every single player's player page) and also offers the "spin" to Insiders.

I like rotowire...I have found it to be the most accurate site overall. The projected pitchers is the best I have seen...updated daily...normally go from 5-14 days out on each team...and is pretty accurate. I like the draft tools. I like some of the customization options (my.rotowire). Have not really noticed it going downhill...seems about the same as always. My main info site. The draft magazine that comes with the baseball subscription is invaluable for live drafts.

Blue Hen, as RFS stated Rotowire offers a nice, easy to read/print 5 or 7 day projected pitcher table. Sometimes the starts down the road are listed as "undecided", but for the most part, right on the money

I'll see what I can do about the probables.
What sort of customization do they offer? Does that mean you can choose your favorite players and they get listed first?

Customization: you can set up a "watch list" for each sport. News on the players on your watch list comes up on a separate "module" on your "My Rotowire" page, in addition to showing up on the regular news page.

Toral, I'll check it out if I can get to it
You have to like the set up of the 5 and 7 day probables though

They even gave us box-scores of preseason games. I sometimes have 3 or 4 rotowire windows open at a time. It's that useful.
Easy to load, easy to read, no adds fresh content almost daily, unbeleivable draft work, including: - Projected stats - Prior year's stats - dollar values - cheatsheets - position battles
Undespensible for the hard-working roto-geek.
I used to put together many of these things myself, but I come to rely on rotowire for most of the time-consuming tasks.

Gotcha BJ, I hope they send one for hoops, not that you need help :)
BTW there's a very nice picture as an add for Wallstreet.com on the back back of Mia St. John
