I know its early but I compiled a list of American league players who I believe wil achieve above their price either because they are young or because they had poor last years.

Care to elaborate on any of them?
I'm not playing TSN, but a sleeper is a sleeper.
Personally, I feel Bobby Higginson has been a disappointment 3 years running now. He's to the point where he has to prove he can still hit before I'll believe it again.
I think Jose Guillen played over his head last season, I do not expect to see similar numbers this season.
Brian Jordan, while he may do better than he did last year, I do not expect to see a surprising year from him. Maybe .280 30 steals 90 runs scored (which ain't bad at all).
Pokey Reese I agree with. While he's considered to be 'light hitting' and was nabbed for his fielding ability, in that Red Sox line up I can see him getting 100 runs scored.
Aurilia I'm not sold on. I got burned by him 2 years in a row. However, a change of scenery may be exactly what he needed.

I'm keeping an eye on Tyler Houston. If he starts most of the games at 3b, he will benefit from a solid Yankee lineup even if he bats ninth. Just the type of $500 player I could use.

With Guillen I expect hell be hitting 2nd in a very strong liineup with a good opportunity for runs scored. Mauer is the starting catcher on a good twins team while luis Matos started to break out last year and this year has a stronger lineup around him. Tyler Houston and pokey Reese are both light hitting but will have run and rbi opportunities on very strong teams. Kotsay was also solid last year and this year i expect he will be leading off. Dye was once an mvp type player and every year i start out thinking hell break out. Spiezio will be playing evry day and ihope he can produce. Gerut and Broussard will both be keys to a weak indian lineup.v Cruz is a guy with a lot of talent and on the virge of abreakout year. I think both higginson and Jordan wil be arond 4m and can put up 35 homers. Guiel i think will be real cheap and showed some promise last year

If it's just AL:
Konerko
Harris (if he's CHA's 2B)
Willie Bloomquist (if he secures an everyday job)
Eckstein (Vlad COULD skyrocket his production)
Delucci (minimum TSND, if he starts in that offense, you've GOT to be kidding me)
Kielty/Dye (if Dye returns to 80% and Kielty can turn out 85% of his numbers in a pitchers' park)
Sanchez (alot of SB's in front of Pudge)
Escobar (IF he wins one of the OF jobs)
Guiel (big numbers in the second-half - could be a huge steal)
Nix (if he's for real, that's the perfect offense for him)

Russ, that's a lousy list. At the very minmum, you need to provide some explanation, and even so, most of those picks are quite well known and hardly sleepers. Guillen? Mauer? Tyler Houston? Not exactly secrets. And Bobby Crosby - no kidding. And you didn't even know his name.

What's Larry Walker priced at this year? Coming off a bad year, worked out with a strength coach for the first time in his career in the offseason....dropped some weight off his fat tank ass.
What bout Nevin? He can't cost too much. Great lineup, possibly healthy....while not having completed a season...EVER.

Walker and Nevin are both ~ $5,800,000 TSND. Not quite what I'd call cheap, but probably underpriced compared to what they can do. Same deal for Shawn Green, who if finally healthy should be a good deal at $5,160,000 TSND. Also, if you have any faith in Jermaine Dye rebounding, he's only ~ $1,200,000 TSND.
Bobby Higginson??? He's priced at $3,590,000 TSND, which is about 3.59 mil too much for me. Besides the fact that he plays half his games in the worst HR park in the league, surrounded by a pitiful lineup that has only gotten marginally better in a couple places this off-season, the guy has just flat out sucked three years running now. (Alright, 2001 was half-way decent I guess.) His 3-year averages: 65 runs, 14 HR, 62 RBI's, 13 SB's and a .263 AVG. Thats after posting a .235 AVG last year. TGO had it right... If it wasn't for his ludicrous contract he'd probably be a bench player by now.

Uh, here's a "Sleeper" if you want to call him that.
Mike Lamb.
Could be starting at 3rd for the Yanks and if he is he he'll be starting the season "sleeping" on probably 30 to 40 percent of the rosters.
Of course with that high an initial ownership his price can only go down and.... oh, wait... he can't go down in price, he's already at the low low price of $500,000.

BTW, locally a lot of people are picking Erick Almonte for the job.

Mike Lamb doesn't have the job and Tyler Houston never had it. They also have Enrique Wilson, Miguel Cairo, Homer Bush and Almonte. My guess is that the starting 3b job is wide open for all of them, and that there may still be more names brought in. Lamb will probably wind up making the team and taking the backup 1b job, as Giambi is not going to be expected to play 162 games there and currently the only other first baseman on the team is Tony Clark. Personally, I'd like to see Torre give the 3b job to whoever shows to be the best fielder and leave it at that. They can deal with a .220 #9 hitter if they have to.

We'll have to disagree about that Blue Hen. He makes plays from as deep in the hole as any shortstop and releases as quickly and accurately as anyone. His diving efforts to his right are not anything special, but all in all, his range to the 3b side of SS is above average. His instincts are also above average.
