Wonder if he'll finally admit to what he's been taking to acquire all of that lean muscle mass at his age?

It's not like they're going to take any homers away. If they get rid of steroids, Barry will be happy because no one will ever touch his record.

Should only be a matter of time now. The names of those players will come out sooner or later. And when they do...

Everyone is calling this guy Bonds' personal trainer, but it appears he had professional (and not-so-professional) relationships with a number of players. Either the press knows more that it is letting on about Bonds, or it senses that the only way this would be a story right now is if they can attach, and stick, Bonds' name to this guy early in the process.

Er, this guy is Bonds' personal trainer.
From an Article on Bonds in Muscle & Fitness
They are buddies from childhood. This article, ironically, has been cited by Bonds supporters as evidence that Bonds doesn't use steroids. Apparently, they think that just because he trains hard means he doesn't juice. At his age with the way he trains and looks, it's almost evidence that he does.
Honestly, it couldn't get any worse for Bonds at this point without him being outright named by someone. The two men he credits for helping him build his training and nutrional regimen are going on trial for distributing steroids to MLB players. What are the odds that Bonds wasn't one of those players? Possible, I suppose, but with the massive muscle gain, the incredible hitting numbers and the sleezebags around him, the amount of circumstantial evidence around this steroid situation is sky high. Something's got to give.

My question is how will this affect SF OF's production (and guys like Giambi and whoever else juices up). The heat is on - you'd think they have to stop shooting up. I'm avoiding guys I suspect of steroid-use in my fantasy drafts. At Bonds age the effect of him quitting could be tremendous (I guess - I'm no doctor). If there's any justice he'll hit .280 with 25 HR's and retire before breaking Aaron's record.

I doubt any of the older players at least (Bonds, Sheffield, who has been named in one story I saw) would quit the stuff, if they are on it. Better to keep going, hope you aren't caught, and follow the maxim, "deny, deny, deny".
I would be more worried (fantasy-wise) about younger players who are on it. They might say to themselves. "Oh oh, looks like people are serious; I want to have another 5 or 10 years, better get off the stuff now." They (whoever they are) might have a tough year this year.

I was bored - found this:
Withdrawal symptoms have been reported among users who discontinue steroids. These include mood swings, depression with suicidal behavior, and aggression with violent and assaultive behavior. Complicating the withdrawal picture, quitting steroids causes sometimes-dramatic reductions in size and strength. That loss of size and strength may contribute to the depression associated with steroid withdrawal.
Research on steroid withdrawal syndromes is still developing. Withdrawal symptoms vary, depending on the individual and the type of steroid used.

Razor, I understand he is the personal trainer of Bonds, but apparently the guy is also the personal trainer of other players.
My point is that Bonds' name is being bandied about here but no one yet knows if he actually got drugs from the guy.

My big question is, now that the cat is out of the bag, what does this mean for those involved. What are the chances of suspension and if so for how long. Baseball's rules seem pretty vague with this kind of thing. If there is a trial, it might turn into a kobe bryant kind of deal where it won't be an issue until the post season.
I've got the 16th pick in a message board draft, and it looks like it will come down to Bonds, Prior, or Schilling. There is one more guy up before me, and he has an affection for bret boone, so I'm thinking that's who he'll pick, but I wouldn't be surpised to see him go with prior either. If he doesn't take Prior, I'm thinking thats the way to go, but its tough to turn away from the production bonds has put forth in the last 3 seasons...

That's interesting news. The trainer himself has been very clear that Bonds himself refused the 'roids, turning them down flat (though the trainer was coy on whether anyone else actually took any). I'd like to see what comes out tomorrow as well.

Personally, I believe Schilling will adjust really, really well...get good run support that Pedro never seems to get, and be over 25 wins with a million Ks and a 3 ERA.

Just like the woman who's sueing Kobe Bryant, this trainer is just trying to make some money out of this. I'll predict that he's going to write a book about the whole investigation once several people goes to jail and everything is said and done.
