Ugghhh! What an awful weekend for me. SP and RP blowing up and besides Youk and Ichiro, just a lost weekend. Dropped 180 pts in the adjusted standings since Friday morning AND used more innings than the rest of you clowns. |

Has anyone else been getting nailed by money losses lately? I've dipped below 700 and now am getting close to 650. UGH
I do want to thank Haren for his performance today though. :-)

Does anyone know if they are going to get the Orioles v. KC game in?

Couple of nice pitching options today. Hope you had all of them BJ21!

Yeah, I was thinking the same thing 'cards. Today wouldve been a good day to be ballsy, but I just went with Haren. RJ, Lowe, and Young have joined Haren with very solid outings.

Good. I did not want to lose a roster spot with Bedard.

Well, I didn't mean to be biased towards BJ21, so good luck to all Gurupies in the monthly pursuit!

No worries. Unfortunatly, I was not smart enough to take RJ . . . but I did have Young, Lowe, and Haren.

Peter N - I went from $705 to $645 and couldn't seem to get it headed in the right direction for 3 or 4 days, despite selling at the lineup freeze of a lot more games than I'm usually able to. Since Sunday I've started gaining again, and should pass $700 (in the right direction) tomorrow or the day after.

Nice JMan. Only pitcher I took in RH was Bedard. Also have him in TSN But, did have both RJ and C. Young in G20.
About time they did something for me.

Great minds... JMan (Bedard, Young, Lowe and Haren). Also uberstud Mitre and Matt Guerrier. Almost went Dice-K over Lowe, but not quite.

Great Andy, That should help get you there.
Nice to see my holding on to Sizemore finally pay off. Real nice nite for him.

Wow - nice night. Looks like you'll gain a few as about all I had for hitters was Sizemore. Still, I can't hardly screw this up tomorrow, can I?!

Wow, one pitching matchup to avoid for the night - Felix Hernandez vs. Jered Weaver. Everyone else has looked pretty good, but both those guys got bombed pretty good.

Is anyone watching the Royals/Baltimore game? I'm not, but I just noticed that Greinke came in with men on 1st & 3rd and struck out Tejada and Huff on 6 pitches. Tough situation, great pitching. Still think he should have been left in the rotation (like Myers), but what do I know?

I just logged in frantically to sell off youkilis since boston is off today, I had this awful feeling that I may have lost about $30 on him, but no...he's still climbing!!!!
And I'm getting greedy, he's now the 6th most expensive hitter. There's no way he's worth almost $67. Why can't I hit that sell button though????
For what its worth, I've been gaining alot of money the last 3 days and I've only sold maybe 3-4 guys at the freeze over that span. $11 on Ichiro, $14 on Youks, $13 on Peavy, $9 on Prince (just today), +$5 on Sheffield...all that adds up! I'm up about $60 over 3 days

Yea, not a ton of good pitching options today. I still have not heard from the Hog on the weekly win. Have you decided on prize? Though I am tempted to pick something that I would enjoy, I am probably going to let the kids choose. It was a fun month.
Good luck.

Yeah, it has been fun. I'll probably go with the Wii if things work out. My second would probably be one of the Ipods or the GPS. Props to Maranatha too - had a great start to the month and just ran out of innings. Good luck to you too - maybe see you later in one of the weekly races, if we still have enough innings left.

Mrbig - So seriously, if you move to another state, are you eligible for the prize? I need to know whether to wish for bad things to happen to your team. :)
RE:Halladay - Nope. Just like his matchup better than any others tonight, and I still have a lot of innings to make up.

Alex - I still haven't asked about moving. I will do so in the next few days.
It would certainly suck to establish residency in another state and not end up in the top 10. It would suck even more to end up winning, but to not move. Having a family would make moving tough. Not even a problem if RH says "no".
Does anyone know why some states are ineligible? I always assumed it was because they would need a gambling license to award prizes to some states, but I really don't know.

mrbig getting some play and notice on the Rotohog main board. I kind of like this......maybe I'll let him lead for a while. It'll be like Tony Soprano letting Uncle Junior be the boss in the spotlight when he was really running things in the background! Yeah....I like it!

Not sure about the reason for some states not being prize eligible. I don't think it has to do with a gambling license though...fantasy baseball is not considered a 'game of chance' but rather a 'game of skill', which is governed by a different set of laws. I suppose those laws must be different in some states than others. Kind of ridiculous considering how similar it is to something like sports betting or poker, but I'm certainly not complaining!

Brad Hennessey may be the latest "SP" to plug in as he seems to be the new closer for the Giants with Benitez allegedly being traded.

My "source" is that the Mets announcers during tonights Giants game announced that he was traded but no word on to who or for what yet...

From Rotowire:
GM Brian Sabean told KNBR 680 radio in San Francisco that the Giants are "going to have to do something" about Benitez (knee) and that the team will resolve the matter in the next "24 to 48 hours."
Sabean said the Giants would solve the matter internally or externally. It remains to be seen exactly what that means but it sounds like Benitez is done as the Giants' closer. Brad Hennessey could be on the verge of officially taking Benitez's job.

I might be in first place in the adjusted standings if I wasn't so stupid picking SP's
who needs a job picking SP's for me for a % of any winnings
