6 of 9 hitters negative.

At least VMart and Dmitri are in double digits.

Stupid Red Sox. I was hoping they'd pull Beckett after 6 with the big lead. Guess there was no reason to with such a low pitch count, but it certainly would have been better for my RH team! Still a decent night, though I had 4 hitters at -5 or worse.

In other news, I made $11.49 on Haren (sorry StlCards) and set him free (kind of like an undersized fish). I won't be around at his freeze, otherwise I'd probably use him. Still, there will be other opportunities with other SP. No sense taking a big $$ hit when another SP could do just as well without the $$ loss.

Thanks Saito. I don't even have you and you cost me 20 RHP.

While we're at it, let's extend thanks to Hiram Bocachica for getting thrown out stealing 3rd. Another potential 20 RHP lost though this was admittedly hopefulness on my part. I REALLY wanted SD to pull it out to get my other points back with a Hoffman win.

I had 2 -7's form hitters tonight. Overall, still not a bad night, but -7? Twice?

Special thanks to Utley and his 4 strikeout night.

KRod was nice enough to waste an IP, as well.

I missed the memo that Saito was back; at least Broxton got me 4.35 points for 1/3rd of an inning. (EDIT: And Saito just blew the save-- yippee!)

My 2 high points were picking Beckett and Miguel Cabrera for the night, but many negatives from the hitters (and no Soriano-- though I picked him up for the $$ gains).

I am up $37.00 on Sheff since purchase and $17 on Haren. If I have to miss Haren at freeze tomorrow, that could hurt. I am closing in on $1400 ($1377 at present), but still only have $340 in the bank. I am coming up on a stretch of missing 5-6 days in a row multiple times, so I need to build up what I can so when I get a chance to retool the lineup, I have the cash. 6 closers, here I come!

The fact that there is a $90 cap on prices is really bad. AROD should be way into the $100's by now, but his max is still the same, even though all roster values are going up. (Yes, there is overall inflation, but not as much as there could be on the top-priced players).

I agree that the $90 cap is too low. It helps me out since I don't have the highest RV, but I would like to see them raise (or even get rid of) the cap next year. With making money fairly easy if you want to dedicate yourself to that goal for a few days, $90 as the max just seems a little too low.

Of course, I think ARod is the only guy to reach $90 so far, so it wouldn't have really made much difference!

I wonder, though, if the $90 cap has limited buys in higher-priced players. For example, if you are trying to raise cash, why pick up someone who can only go up $5 more, when you could have someone else go up $30+. So the "actual" cap has created an artificial cap of resistance.

Anybody else's scores screwy? On my roster it says 127, but its not showing Wagner's save, so I think I should have around 142. But on the Global Top 100, it shows 106 for me. I think that might be what I got on Thursday, but I can see scores for some of you that I know are much lower than your Thursday scores, so its not like it didn't update anything on the Top 100 yet.

Yeah, mine are screwy. I scored 219 and it shows 156 or something.

How do you guys contact customer service? I tried the customer service email yesterday but I got no response on a question I had. Some of you seem to get rapid responses.

Nice week so far, ukula. It's yours if you want it man. I'm in 15th without intentionally trying and only have half the points you do. There are several good matchups today, good luck picking the right ones.

Just the customer service email.
Sometimes they are very quick, and other times it seems to take a bit.

Not horrible, but not good yesterday.
Just feel like I'm spinning my wheels.

2 good days from Dmitri.
Not bad for the price.
Guess I should work on money one of these days.

Ok, last night, all 3 of my 'last' choices went yeard - Pujols, Fielder and Howard. I didn't go w/ Howard, the high point scorer.

Tonight, my last spot came down to Griffey, Brandon Phillips (yes, in my utility), or Tori Hunter. I really wanted exposure to the Minnesota lineup, but there's no way Morneau would crack Fielder or Pujols. VMart for Mauer was also too risky for me so I went with Hunter. Maybe I shouldn't have just plugged in Cuddyer w/out asking questions first, ah well.

Lets see how the 3 of these guys turn out tonight.

Hog has Santana w/ 3 ER, while CBS has him w/ only 2 (I think it should be 2...). Anyway, worth keeping an eye on that it gets corrected (of course if the Twins can't at least tie it up in the 9th, it doesn't matter too much, but still worth watching.

The Washington curse continues. I never considered skipping this one though and Santana pitched pretty well, but go no support. Yahoo has him with 2 ER as well. We'll have to see what the final official box says then make sure RH matches up.

yep, the pesky (g)nats beat me every time. only the 2nd & 3rd tier pitchers can beat them, not the aces.

I had a decent day going today before Cordero. No sensational, but I've had many worse. Now it turned into mediocre at best. Oh well, Saito and Cordero had been lights out and and they both blow one in back to back nights.

I basically won't pick a pitcher who faces Washington anymore. Therefore I skipped Santana today. I used Haren. Looked hard at Shield adn Guthrie but didn't want to use the innings.

My condolences to all you Cordero holders (and Sheets for the 20 lost RHP). I have held him nearly every night this season. Thankfully, having 3 SP today forced me to limit my closers.

I've only gotten 2 or 3 saves from Cordero this year, and now he robs 20 pts from me.

Bastard. I needed it also, b/c everytime mr. big says he had an 'ok' day he puts 200 pts up. Additionally, my hitter/closer selections have been horrible in June.

No SP's for me today.

was originally going to play Bedard & C. Young, but the last 2 days were so bad picking (and not picking) SP's, that I decided to take the safe route and go with 6 RP's. that bodes well for any Bedard or Young owners.

Bedard looks like he's doing fine, but could use some support (as could Sabathia).

Lot's of big hitters today, plenty of points to go around there. I have Howard on my bench and started Fielder. I hope Prince makes me look good.

ARod is ridiculous.

I hope The Mets can make it close and Wagoner can make up for the Gregg disaster.

Brendan Harris, $1.63 - 25.70 points.

And of course the obvious like everyone else in Sheff.

Joining the rest of the crowd with imploding Closers.

Both Gregg and Hoffman.

ugh, I had Gregg and Hoffman too. Can't wait to look to see the damage.

A nasty game developing between the Cubs and Atl. Lily hit Renteria with a pitch and got tossed already. Renteria then steals second and basically gives the 2B a forearm to the nose. And there only in the 1st.

Of my 8 OF choices Fri-Sun (went w/ just 2 today) only Sizemore (today) and his .20 pts managed a positive score.

Wow, that's truly pathetic. Also, Sheff wasn't so obvious for me, doh!

gregg & hoffman too.

Re: 68 - the umpires are a complete joke when it comes to ejecting pitchers. the upmire didn't originally toss Lilly when it happened. once the benches cleared, THEN he threw him out. it's like when a pitcher hits a batter and the umpire does nothing (no warning even) - but 2 seconds later the batter charges the mound, they fight, benches clear etc., and the umpire tosses the batter AND the pitcher, when all the pitcher was doing was protecting himself. I've seen it so many times. so basically a pitcher gets thrown out because the batter decides to charge the mound, when he wouldn't have even gotten a warning otherwise. makes NO SENSE.

At present, I am up ~$100 since opening yesterday-- closing in $1450. Included in that is the $10 I made on Haren since buying him back yesterday-- SP's that gain big money can always find room on my bench.

Had Gregg, Valverde, and Hoffman neutralized by some Wickman help. Still, 4 IP for about 0 points. Sabathia was good, but woulda loved a bonus 20 for the win.

I see one option I like for tomorrow (SP), but will go w/ 5 closers and possibly a middle-reliever, if I can find one who has SP eligibility that I like.

I have a full hitting roster for tomorrow, but may drop a few before game time. Still thinking that out.

Wow, what an atrocious Saturday and Sunday. Definitely learned some lessons the hard way. Mainly, I knew I would be around for many freezes, so I went with hitters today that are playing Monday so I wouldn't lose $$. A bunch of the guys ended up having big days today (Sheffield, etc.). Plus my SP were horrible (skipped Haren, took Santana, Young, and Bedard). Plus got hit with Cordero yesterday and Dempster today.

My hitting saturday was solid, but everything else was putrid. Wouldn't be surprised if I'm down over 150 if Bandos updates his rankings with so many wasted innings.
