Seems like as good of time as any. Here's to hoping my fortunes turn around at some point!

Am I stupid for taking a hitter that is going up against one of my pitchers (don't answer that)?

I've actually never noticed if I've done that. I would imagine it's pretty rare that I would want to, but I don't think it's inherently wrong by any means.

You mean like Pujols vs. Haren?

Pujols vs. Haren, steel cage match.

I (think) I'm hoping Pujols hits a solo homer off Haren, the only run and hit given up by Haren while he strikes out 18 in 6 innings.

Meanwhile, the A's build up a huge lead, allowing Pujols to hit 3 more HR later in the game, giving him fantastic production while still allowing Haren to secure the W.

I do typically avoid hitters vs. my pitcher picks....just seems counter-intuitive. I'm sure there has been an exception so far, but it's definitely an exception!

I normally avoid, but I didn't want to sit Pujols and then have him go crazy. At the same time, other than Pujols, I liked Haren's matchup.

With the way things have been going, Pujols will probably go 0-4 with 2 K's and Haren will give up 7 earned!

I made a last minute decision to not take any SPs today. Clemens and Sabathia were my favorites and I didn't really like them.

Nice start for Ortiz. Strikes out, and then gets ejected.

Yikes, not the right day to skip Reyes. It's the 3rd inning and he has 18 pts and is working on another 3.

On the flip side, i'm thrilled I went w/ Felix, 4 our of the first 5 guys have hits.

I do take solace in knowing that if I had stuck w/ Halladay he would have put up -35 to -60 pts.

Add a home run to Reyes' total.

And if you had Reyes you're probably still missing out as Rollins goes deep twice.

Oh no need to worry about the 30+ pts from SS, afterall, i've got Bill Hall!

I've had Rollins and Reyes pretty much all year long. Who did I have tonight? Ramirez

Tonight is an all-around poor showing for my team thus far without much chance of it getting better. I've had a monster June so far. This was bound to happen. It doesn't make it feel any better though.

At least Haren saved face and held on for the win. Holliday also threw a few more points my way so it was a total disaster.

I'm still left thinking what could have been if I had held Pudge and Rollins one more day (though VMart was solid).

Tomorrow's a new day.

And you should probably think Looper as well. Haren wasn't really on early and the Cards were pumped. As soon as Looper lets in 6 runs the Cards deflated and quit. Pretty ugly.

That was a great win by the A's! I've learned not to pick against the Ranger's oppenents in the AL West. Of course, I had Sabathia and King Felix.

Clearly 18 should say "wasn't a total disaster" I'm sure everyone lost sleep scratching there heads over that one (not). I felt compelled to correct it this morning for some reason.

I just love baseball news: "Dodgers' Brazoban has sore shoulder" Aren't you glad other sections of the news don't follow suit?

This morning Indiana's Scott King awoke with a sore back, an in-grown toe nail and a hangover. He is doubtful for yardwork today in the high heat should be considered questionable for all other labor for the remainder of the weekend.

I went with Wright today and somehow Beltran managed to make the last out of an inning 3 different times - all with runners on if memory serves me correctly.

Now it's time to play the waiting game and see if I lose ground to the Atkins people.

I was debating between Dunn and Griffey. Dunn with 1 HR but now Griffey with 2. Figures. Guess I should have gone with both.

Cards, I also went through that same debate but at the last minute went with Vlad. I usually make those types of decisions fearing i'll fall behind if the more heavily owned guy has a huge night. Ah well.

I don't own him, but Carl Crawford is 1 for 26 in his last several games. That sounds like my kind of OF production. Maybe i'll snap him up for tomorrow.

Damned D-backs had to go and score 3 in the 9th to put a save out of reach. I could have had 5 saves today! Still, hard to complain with 4 - my best save day in forever.

I had my first 5 save night tonight (Gregg, Papelbon, Cordero, KRod, and Hoffman).

Averaged 12 points/hitter tonight (that rarely happens) but only 3 saves (seems to be a bit low compared to others for the day).

Genuine thanks to:
KRod, ARod, Reyes, Utley, Ichiro & Miggy

Sarcastic thanks to:
Vmart, Sheffield, Soriano for taking away ~12 points, Braves & D-backs for putting saves out of reach late, and Cubs for not scoring 2 runs to put Dempster in a save situation.

Griffey was a no-brainer for me today, great career numbers against Wright coming in. Not that it always works out that way (Pudge and Sheff had great numbers against Moyer and neither did much today), but its nice to see it work out.

Only 2 saves and have been pretty dry on saves lately. Yuck.

Still missing out on the Arod action. Average night for my hitters. Wish Zambrano could have come away with the win.

Re 30:

Vlad had a 500 career avg. against Jason Schmidt.

I went w/ that vs the Grif/Wright, who I figured might only last 1 griffey AB coming off an injury.

No biggie, only 35ish pts, grrrrrr.

Apparently Webb wasn't such a good pick afterall. I'm still not sure how he is shown with 3 ERs as that last run only scored because of an error as far as I can tell.

I went with no starters today. I don't expect a repeat of last night's 5 save performance, but I just couldn't sell myself on any of the matchups.

Yes!

I bought in just in time for his -5 game on Friday.

Suffice to say, after the 100 or so pts I missed out on the 5 games before, I wasn't about to let him go after a bad night.

I would be really comfortable with my standing had I just held on to Reyes, Utley, and Arod for the last 7 days.
