Holy Yazmeisters. What a run this guy is on. I'm back to 400 off the lead. I had been as close as 88 pts at one point so I have taken a severe dive as I haven't had the time to put in lately. Finally got a save last night - been a while. Here are the standings.

The top 2 guys have been on fire. I was gaining ground pretty well earlier in the month. I have maintained my averages all month long after a hot start, but it's no longer gaining me ground.

I was on fire too, but I cooled off. They'll find the rut eventually. Fantasy baseball is like real baseball - you can't make the right decision every time and most people tend to be a little streaky with their decisions.

I've made a few SP choices that have hurt me in the last 3 weeks or so and haven't been getting as many saves. My hitters have been fairly consistent and I've been better about my SP choices the last week or so to stop my freefall.

Debated getting BigZ for today's game or not. Had him and sold him before the game started which is now looking like a mistake as he strikes out the side to begin the game!

Anyone who actually has Zambrano is scared to post for fear of jinxing it.

Since I don't have him i'll root for him thereby encouraging failure - or atleast a not too ridiculous performance.

You might be able to jinx some pitchers, but not BigZ. I wish I had him here, but at least I have him in TSN. Pretty spectacular so far. Anyone with him here today just made a nice jump. Not many performances at this level. Wow!

Zambrano's biggest problem is the Cubs offense! Almost seems like he has to score the runs himself. Just hope they don't have to rely on Dempster with a 1 run lead.

have big Z in a keeper league that I've been playing with friends for many years, but he's so unpredictable I haven't played him in RH once. he is like the little girl in the nursery rhyme - when he is good, he is very, very good. and when he is bad, he is horrid. he has been very good for several starts now, but I'm too chicken to play him here.

so I guess no one is fessing up yet that they had him in RH

heh heh. I'm a gambler, but not THAT much of one.

Smoltz looked good for a while too, but can't start any SP these days against those white hot Tiger hitters.

Re: 14

Carmona seemed like a solid play. I might have gone with him also if not for the fact that I am about 0 for 8 against the Nats this year with SP's, so couldn't do it (or did I finally beat them once...can't remember now).

nice call with gigantic Z though. he must have been good for 70 - 80 points.

3 late saves today salvage a rather ugly hitting day. AROD the only one worth mentioning (positively), but it's not like that is a differentiating pick. Thanks to Paps, Rivera, and Gregg and to KRod for just pitching a solid inning.

Still have hopes that either Figgins or Vlad can put up a game-winning scenario.

(Note Figgins just tripled after going 0-5). How a bout a walk to Cabrera and a walk-off homer by Vlad?

Looks like I'll end up w/ 3 SP's today-- all match-ups I really like. (Last time there was a day like this, I had 4 I liked, took 2 and the 2 I skipped did well.) So today, my plan is to have all 3 match-ups I like blow up in my face. :)

Currently pitching for me:
Wang @ SFO
Verlander @ ATL

1 more to come later...

In not-so-breaking news, my hitters are continuing to stink it up, and they are STILL carrying my team.

Anyone know why Berkman is out of the lineup today? Didn't hear anything about injury or sickness. Garner already deserves to be fired for being a horrible manager, but if he decided to give Berkman a rest on a day against a guy he has incredible career numbers against, then as an Astros fan I hope this is the last time he every manages the team.

Now I know why I have been losing ground. MY SP and hitters are rght on track 4.8/6.99. But I have only 40 RP IP this month so far compared with 64/72 in Arpil/May. I knew it seemed like I wasnt geting a lot of action with my closers but sheesh, that is just plain awful. Those 20 extra IP = 280 pts!

Wang started strong and tanked out w/ a nice 2.18 points.

Looking pretty solid for my 3rd (I think) 200-point night of the year. It's been THAT ugly...

I don't what to do with that one. If you go with both, you automatically short yourself 20 RHP. Worst case, you're on both ends of a 26.5 swing. So efficiency wise you're forced to choose 1. So which is it? I'll likely take neither, but haven't sold myself entirely.

lol ---- sounds like you should have had an "opposite day", StL!

At least Santana should get a low-inning win.

Hamels isn't getting the outside corner today and the Cards are laying off that pitch. He'll need to find something else, but he still looks good.

At least he only used 3 IP and didn't totally waste them (like Nathan did).

yeah, I had Nathan too, the bum, but could have been worse. Cards resuming with Hamels done.

It was nice of the Phils to take Hamels off the hook for the loss.

No Santana. No Beckett. Two blown saves(KRod and Dotel) All in all, a great day for me.

Switched out Peavy for Papelbon and just went with Santana.

Phillies score a run in the ninth so Alfonseca goes in with no chance for a save and gives me a heart attack in the process

Looks like a lot of potential SP choices on Monday

Looks like i was a day early and about 40 pts short on that switch to Griffey.

My hitters were horrible today and I switched away from Putz for not good reason. On the flip side, I also switched away from KRod, but the net was still a negative impact.

I fell asleep early and ended up not being able to make any buys/sells last night. Not optimal, but I had Santana. After yesterday's sells, I only had 5 hitters going though.

My hitters as a whole were putrid today, but I had Corey Hart first time today and that paid off.
