That old thread was getting to be a bit of a pain to scroll through.
I asked this in the other thread but does anyone know what time RH updates their standings? I know they do the pts fairly early on in the overnight but when does the position usage genearlly get updated? |

I had all 4 DH closers. I dropped Papelbon last minute, but I did it for Maine so I refuse to second guess it.
I have been bleeding $$$ profusely over the last week. Between totally blowing any $$$ making opportunies this weekend I am killing myself. I need to right the ship.

Re: 91
Yeah I, like many of us, learned that the hard way several weeks (mths maybe?) ago.
I was at work and didn't realize I needed to click sell w/ 4 seconds to go instead of 6 seconds to go.
But hey, atleast I sold Utley, Howard, & ManRam at the right time securing -5 pts from 3 games used....no way I would trade that for Paps' save tonight.
Stupid.

generic baseball question.
Tonight I saw Dice-K went to lick his fingers while he was still on the mound...an automatic ball.
Why don't they just lick their fingers four times to get the intentional walks?

Anyone watching Baseball Tonight? One of Hudson's pitches to Barry was clocked at 99 mph! I know a lot of the TV guns are a little fast, but even mid-90's is amazing for Hudson. The pitch was absolutely nasty too, tons of movement.

Well, sh!t. I just checked back with their monthly prize list and the GPS thing is gone! I figured I probably wouldn't get the wii without finishing first, so I was looking at the other options.
Its been replaced with a $150 Amazon Gift Certificate...booooooooo

Count me in. Guess I shouldn't have been so happy to see a close game for Milw afterall. At least KRod was able to salvage his with a win and Putz didn't get charged a loss, but this -25 is painful. Hopefully my other closers can get some saves and help offset this fiasco.

Sorry guys - if you had the KRod blown save you didn't get the 'real' trifecta. Some of us low budget guys had Alfonseca (along with Putz and Cordero), so we got another -20 or so...and for bonus credit the Alfonseca blown save cost me another 20 points from Hamels' win. So there was about more than a 100 point swing from the three blown saves.

I'm surprised that Utley was never "out" as there is a huge divide between him and the next 2B whoever that is.
This actually opens up things in the 2B position as probably 90%+ of the top 100 had Utley before his injury. Now it's not so clear and matchups will probably determine which 2B owners pick.

I just picked up Cano, Roberts & Phillips. I figure I should at least make some money with that

Re:125
I emailed RH about that, and they said...
Your players from 6/28 will continue to receive their points when the game is resumed on Friday. However, please be patient with our points allocation as it will take us a few days to apply the correct points to your 6/28 total

follow up to 125/126
so if I understand them correctly, the points from the suspended game won't show up on our Friday scores.

I was away in Milwaukee last night :( I'm down $31 from when I left. That's going to hurt for awhile.
The only saving grace is that most of the 2B cost $30 less than Utley did.

Heck, they all currently cost $45 less than Utley used to. We won't even discuss what I coud have done with the extra $45. I'll just continue to tell myself I have ~$15 to spend elsewhere now. Yeah, that helps...

Utley probably was too expensive for the majority of teams to own. Especially because such a large proportion of teams went dormant early in the season.
I think there's going to be a major price drop on the other 2nd basemen today...I suspect a lot of people 'invested' in multiple players when Utley went down, and will be selling all the extras today.
P.S. I am now down to $710 from almost $900 at my high, and am putting some pretty awful lineups out there.

If Alex Rodriguez homers in the remainder of the June 28 suspended game which will be completed Friday, the home run he hit Wednesday night will technically have been his 500th.
He currently has 499, but if by chance A-Rod homers tonight -- and he starts the game on deck as it will pick up in the eighth inning -- it will be back dated to become his 493rd homer, thereby bumping up all his subsequent homers by one and making No. 499 actually No. 500. How anticlimatic would that be? And how would you like to be the fan who catches the ball tonight only to learn that it's his 493rd and not his 500th homer? Source: New York Daily News

That's just dumb IMO. It will be his 500th HR. You can muse all you (not you in particualr, Ref, but in general) want on the oddity that his 500th was hit before his 493 - 499 in the record book, but there's no arguing that it's the 500th one he hit.
I suppose it's an interesting oddity, but it's artificial.

While I was away and using dialup, that would happen to me quite often (with the rotohog site). Usually, I could resolve it by closing the browser completely, and then reopening it.

Re:130
you were right on about all the 2B taking price hits today. Since I happened to have the open roster spots at the time I heard of Utley's injury, I "invested" in the top 3 point scorers (Uggla, Roberts & Phillips). Lost some back today, but still made a few bucks. I also did it because I was worried some of them might become OUT and wouldn't be able to get them later. J said yesterday that Roberts & Phillips were OUT, but don't think any of them are now. I'm now thinking that with 3 or 4 2B worth owning, the money will get distributed among them all, and they aren't at much risk of getting sold out (or at least not STAYING sold out for long).
