My Pac Bell pics were screwing up the other thread, so we start anew.

Lots of SP choices today. Is there any definitive news as to the starting matchups in Boston? Who does Beckett face?????

Species and I have literally gone 100% linear opposites in the last 10 days.

I was a few pts out of 4th in the adj. and now....eugh.

And I really hate day's like today when the DH guys like Ortiz go off and everyone who has to make up games obviously holds them.

The fact they have double digit games to make up has nothing to do w/ strategy, or at least not the strategy to jump on every single DH person.

Also, skipping Phillips today really pisses me off.

Oh, and while i'm at it, last time I skipped DH closers, Paps and KRod, (busy w/ work, not intentional) both had saves. Today, I play both Jenks and Paps and zilch!

C'mon Annihilators, lets go!

Re:95

that just proves my point even more Species. you play Zambrano, he doesn't do well for you, and you STILL beat me by 85 points. 4th place is going to be quite disappointing after being in 1st for such a big part of the season.

For fun, flipped through some of the old adjusted standings:

5/6: Me 1st, mrbig -42, you 5th -163
5/11: Me 1st, you 5th, you -187.2
5/14: mrbig 1st, me 2nd, you 7th -187
6/1: mrbig 1st, me -35, you 3rd -188
HOLY SMOKES: 6/11: you first, mrbig 2nd -9.86, me 5th -194.99!!

Geezus WTF happened between 6/1 and 6/11!!! lol

6/25: yaz 1st, self esteem -125, me 9th -404!!
7/1: yaz 1st, self esteem -89, me 9th -362

I think that's one of the last times Bandos posted the adjusted standings before dailyprojections.com got rolling.

Fascinating to see some of the old back and forth!

donk - when did you find our site here?

not sure exactly Species, but I think it was pretty early in the season. maybe mid to late April. I just watched for a couple weeks though, so my first post probably wasn't until early May. that's just a total guess though.

I found it when someone from here mentioned it on the main RH message board as a good place to go to talk about RH baseball, though I don't recall now who it was.

Awesome day not to start VMart.

With the way things have been going for me lately, if that's the only thing I have to complain about today i'll be extremely lucky!

June 1st was a good day, full of silly concerns like whether I needed to move to Texas to win $100,000.

what do Uggla, Upton, Phillips, & Cano have in common?

All 2b I passed on that have hit HR's by 1:15 cst.

Sometimes its better to be lucky than smart. I was pretty annoyed last night when I discovered that Bedard was sold out already around 11:20pm. Not so unhappy now!

What time was Houston's freeze today? I sold Lidge apparently at 10:53 but sure I sold him after the freeze and go look now and I have an empty spot in my lineup instead of Lidge. I threw Saito in there for now, but can someone tell me what time the Houston game was scheduled to start? I did read they had a delay to the start of the game, but that has never effected a freeze before. Thanks.

Stl - 3:04 plus 19 minute delay for ceremonies.

Your 1.2 point lead on me for 10th place may be toast.

I'm sure just about everyone had Bedard, unless he sold out on you like for Alex.

So if you didn't have Bedard Species, then I'll be sure you cracked the code...lol

I've noticed that too Guru and am wondering if I should forgo using any players from that game to save myself the possible difficulties that will likely arise.

I've used Victor Martinez pretty much non-stop all summer. I'm just going to leave him there and see what happens. I suspect it will be fine.

Of greater concern is the opportunity for others to use this in a manner similar to the "Teixeira loophole".

The freeze has come and gone for the MN game. Guess I am stuck holding since selling the player now will surely cause more problems. I just don't understand how they can allow these type of things to go unaddressed. I posted a message in their new forum asking how they would handle it and now I can't even get to the forum to see if the responded or not.

Re 116: Forums came back up but I don't see your post. Have the same problem with VMart/Sizemore - game has finished but I'm afraid if I sell them, they'll just disappear from my roster. Guess I'll have to hold them until tomorrow

Looks like the forums are going up and down at RH. What's funny is that when they came back up the category I posted in, the Rotohog problem, etc or whatever it was called, category was no longer there. That is also the one where people were complaining about the football drafts not working correctly so maybe they are doing some housekeeping on it or something.

Wish I had VMart today. Went with Posada who may be the only catcher that went negative today. Also pretty hard to find a bad 2B today as well.

Mrbig - I'm beating you in the race to the bottom as far as RH$ go....I'm down to $680. The odd thing is I'm doing great now, did well when I was short on $ for the first quarter of the season, but I was absolutely awful in the middle of the season when I generally had $750-$900 to spend, and could get almost any players I wanted.

Anybody have either Harang or Oswalt? Seems like there were a ton of good pitchers who had pretty mediocre games tonight, and those were the only two who did really well. I thought I'd create some differentiation by using Shields, and am probably lucky it wasn't any worse than it was.

Anyone else having a total meltdown of pitching this week? I am pretty sure I am now negative points with my pitching for the week with Wagner's blowup today. Really unbelievable.

I always like to mention when I pick someone out of the blue and it actually works out, so here was today's pick to click - Carlos Marmol. Who knew?

It wasn't all peaches 'n cream though, as Matt Capps did his best to hurt my night.

Still, it was fun to have Matt Diaz last night and Marmol tonight.

I'll be out of town for the weekend, plus out of town for a whole week in the middle of September (both times with very little internet access), so it will be interesting to see what happens with my team.

Awesome...that's twice in the last week that i've started Bob Wickman.

After being confused as to why his price didn't move today, I used a free moment to check his status....

Yeah, nice!

Decided to go with a hunch and play Glaus instead of Wright, Cabrera or Braun. Lovely.

At least I got A-Rod back after a lengthy absence - guess I can't sell him again as it took forever to get him back.

Maybe I'm just more obsessed with RH than anyone else, but I hate waiting until 5am to see how you guys did each day. Anyone else want to start posting results early if you're on here anyway? I'll go first - 109 points today on 8G and 2IP.

No, I'm pretty RH obsessed also.

whooped me Alex

53 points on 9G & 2 IP, with Vlad & KRod still playing.

there weren't a lot of big hitting days, so you must have picked well there.

donk44 - Most of that 109 pts. yesterday was due to Braun (33 pts.) and Dempster and Papelbon each getting a save.

Not so good today...38 points so far with Ortiz and Crawford still playing and Figgins, Vlad, and KRod playing later. Using a total of 8 hitters, and have only 1 IP used so far.

Re:144

another poor hitting day. looks like 65 points for me (counting Paps save) with 8G and 1 IP.

were a lot of good SP's going today, but wasn't crazy about any of them. my gut said to go with Sabathia since he has dominated the Twinkies this year, but couldn't pull the trigger going against Santana. Rats.
