I'm going to be in NY from 5/24 to 5/30. I've never been in NY and want to see a game at both stadiums. My target games at 5/25 SEA at NYY and 5/29 LaD at NYM.
Any help anyone can give me on ticket hook ups would be appreciated. I need two (2).I want to buy them well in advance (as in this week) as we want a stress free experience. I don't want to scalp/haggle, etc...
I'm open to anything, but I'd like to have at least medium-quality tickets as this may be a once-in a-lifetime-event.
Any help from walk, Tree, MITH, Jeff G, etc... would be great. Thanks.

If you were willing to switch your Mets tickets to 5/27 vs. Hanley and the Marlins, there are currently upper reserve tickets selling on the Mets website for $18.50. Not great, but not bad.
Mets tickets are generally easy to come by, although there don't seem to be many available right now. Not sure why.
And Yankee/Mariner tickets are easy enough to get. It's not like the subway series or anything.
Stubhub will probably get you something even better, at a reasonable price with no haggling.
Let me know when you're around - I think I can get you into the ESPN Zone.

Yankee regular season single game tickets go on sale at Yankees.com on Februay 29 at 10AM. The Sunday games usually draw well, but you should be able to get tickets via the public sale for that game with no headaches. There is a regular season pre-sale for season ticket holders this Friday 2/22. If you'd like me to purchase your tickets then, let me know. I put my email address in the name link, drop me a line. I assume with a gurupie status of DUDE, you'd be good to get me a check and I can order 'print at home' tickets and email you the PDF when it comes. Keep in mind, I am getting a few extra games for myself, but once I am done with those purchases can try for those tickets for you.
Mets have not announcnd their public on sale date for single game tickets, but for a weekday night (even if it is Joe Torre's return to NY), you will have no problem getting tickets if you jump right on the public sale when it begins.

rfs - speaking of once-in-a-lifetime experiences, considering that this is the final year for Yankee Stadium, I would absolutely kick your ass in March when I see you if you do NOT get tickets for the Yankee Stadium Tour. It's the best fifteen bucks you will spend.
I would strongly recommend doing it Monday the 26th if you can squeeze it in. The Yankees start a road trip so, unlike me when I went, your tour would include going into the clubhouse, which would be sweet. They start at noon sharp and are roughly an hour or so. It's an easy subway ride from anywhere in Manhattan.

JeffG - Thanks. will send you an e-mail. I can mail you a check or send via Pay Pal.
BH -- Sure. I'll take you up on that. We can talk when you are in Phoenix. I'll prbbaly use Stub Hub for the NYMs unless someone send me some free tix. :)
Species -- Got the girl with me. The deal: I get 2 baseball games, she gets to shop the rest of the trip. Not sure I can swing another trip to the Bronx, but I'll darn sure try.

We got our Yankees tickets off Ebay for a game last summer, got a pretty good deal on them there.

rfs - let me talk to her in March. We can negotiate. ;-)
But seriously, it's history you can't get again. Ever. 20 minute subway ride (highly recommend the 4/green line), 5 minute walk, 1 hour tour. Actually any of the non-game days would work.

RFS, I didn't get to go on the tour when Species was here. If you get tickets for it while you're here, there's a good chance I'll go with you.
Do you have any idea where you're staying yet? That's generally a much bigger deal than game tickets.
Also, if you've never been to NY, I recommend a broadway show. The lady will appreciate it and it's an experience you can't quite get anywhere else.

Thanks for those who helped with the baseball tickets, especially Jeff G.
Next: Any recommendations for Broadway plays and/or especially discounted tickets or hook up?
Jeff G: Thanks for the tix. We had a great time at Sunday's game.
We went to NYY Stadium for the tour today. Pretty sweet. Among the highlites were walking along the warning track, sitting in the NYY dugout, sitting in press row and of course visiting the clubhouse (no pics allowed in the clubhouse however).
Met up with Blue Hen for drinks and dinner 2 nights ago in Brant Park which was cool. Any Gurupies in the area who are around, feel free to e-mail. We're in Manhattan (6av / 53rd st) and maybe going to the Merc Bar in Soho shortly and then out for the night....
We've got tix to LaD / NYM tomorrow night in case anyone is around (MITH, BH, Tree, Jeff, walk, etc...)
