0 Subject: Giants and A's tickets

Would like some info. Me and the family are going to the bay area in July. Being starved for live baseball action, I am planning on taking in a couple of games, a Giants game and an A's game. Just wondering if I should buy tickets ahead of time? Where are the good places to sit? Noticed too that I can't buy Giants tickets online at this time, is there a reason for that? Thanks in advance for the help.

That's weird that Giants tickets wouldn't be available online. I have no clue.

The Giants' recent misfortunes have made tickets to AT&T Park easier to come by, but the ballpark and surrounding development still make it a popular spot. I would certainly recommend buying Giants tickets in advance.

Seats low in the 3rd deck as close to the plate as you can would be my recommendation. The 3rd deck sits over the first deck and it's really a nice view for the price. I'd recommend the 1st base side, as if it is windy that side is more buffered from the wind.

The A's situation had been so poor that starting a year or two ago they tarped off the 3rd deck and only sold seats in the first 2 decks and bleachers. You can get tickets on game day pretty easily, unless it's interleague or the Yankees and Red Sox. The second deck is great, but decent seats down the OF lines in the first deck are fun too.

I just noticed after I posted that tickets go on sale Saturday.

I plan on bringing my kids with me, and they will be about 20 months old. I noticed in reading about the park that there is a playground. Is it open during the game? Would that be a good option for seats?

Past the left field bleachers is a mini baseball diamond, where I believe kids can swing a nerf-like bat and ball and run around some mock bases.

The famous Coke Bottle and huge mitt in left field has slides for kids of different ages. 20 months is pretty small though for both of these attractions....although they could certainly slide down your lap.

Yes they are both open during games. There is also an easily accessible series of concessions in that area as well, including "Orlando Cepeda's Caribbean BBQ", home of one of my favorite all time ballpark fares "The Cha-Cha Bowl". I'd recommend it highly.

If that convenience is more important than good seats, there's nothing wrong with the LF bleachers....the only negative would be that you're more open to the cold and wind. Yes, even in July you can freeze your arse off in San Francisco.

Personally I like the arcade`section(inside the right field foul line) as they are only 5-8 rows deep and you can get up and down,in and out as often as you want.Stand for while a few rows behind your seats and check out McCovey cove.
Nice thing about anywhere in the lower deck is you can pretty much walk around the whole park and still watch the game.Nicest view is upper deck behind home plate as that looks out over the bay/treasure island/bay bridge. Also the best seats for the fireworks' nights. As for tix if you don't wanna use E-bay and get them cheaper,Giants have/had a place on their website where you can buy season holders' tix(many at face value) that they don't wanna use for that game.I think it's called double-play.

A couple years ago, I had no problem getting multiple options from scalpers as I walked to the Giants game. I got face, 2nd row right down near 1st base. Of course that was just 2 seats. A family would be tougher, I suppose.

I don't think the As sell out.
