I was just involved in an MLB version of the football survivor pickem game...yes its over already...damn you Mariners!!!!
Here's the deal:
From Monday-Sunday each week, you pick one team, and they have to finish the week at .500 or better. Simple as that.
Here are the "official rules" from the guy who ran this:
Rules of Play: You select a MLB team each week before first pitch of their first game of the week and you can NOT use that team again the rest of the pool. Your selected team must finish the week playing .500 or better baseball for that week, in order to survive to the next week. Partial games, unofficially games, suspended games, rainouts – all do not count. Games are only counted if they are completed in the current week. If a suspended game is completed sometime down the road, it counts for this pool in the week the game was completed. Most of the time teams will play 6 games in a week, sometimes 7 but maybe more or maybe less depending on weather and doubleheaders. The rules are the rules (a percentage is a percentage) no matter how many official games are completed in a given week. Obviously games that start on a Sunday but finish after midnight, count for the current week, please do not argue with me that the game finished after midnight on a Monday not on Sunday. Changes can be made to your selection if a series starts but an official game is not completed, but of course you will only be able to select a team that has not completed an official game.
All Star Break: We will not have to make picks the week of July 9 thru 15 due to the All Star Game.
Deadline for picks: is before the first pitch of the team’s first official game of the week.
So...for whoever's interested, lets give this a shot starting tomorrow (or Tuesday) |
