0 Subject: Yahoo treatment of games on Monday or Tuesday

There is a possibility of a game or two next Monday or Tuesday, either as a make-up of a postponed game, or as a one-game "playoff" to break a tie.

For official baseball purposes, these would all be considered regular season season games.

However, does anyone remember whether Yahoo includes these games for rotisserie leagues? I know they would not count for the head-to-head format, but I can't recall how they handle those games for roto scoring.

All I can find in the rules is this:
Yahoo! Sports Fantasy Baseball runs throughout the entire 2008 baseball regular season, which begins on Tuesday, March 25 and is scheduled to end on Sunday, September 28.
Taken literally, that would mean that the extra games do count. But I seem to recall a precedent sometime in the past several years that did not count those games - although it might not have been for Yahoo games.

My recollection is the games count. I'm just trying to find evidence of this.

Maybe not.

The RIBC 2007 Final Standings say 'Thru games of Sep 30'. Last year's SD/Col one-game playoff was on Monday 10/1/2007.

Ok, I'm posting again. I looked in the RIBC AAA and AA threads from last season. Everyone congratulated the winner on Monday morning 10/1. So that would also indicate that the one-game-playoff did not count.

BUT, there is also a possibility of the White Sox having to make up a regularly scheduled regular season game with Detroit on Monday 9/29 this season if they and the Twins are within a half game of each other for the division crown. This is not game 163, but I wonder how Yahoo will treat this.

If I remember correctly, Yahoo goes by a set calendar. Any games played after that calender date do not count. Even if it is a make up of a regular season game if it falls outside of the Yahoo year its irrelevant to fantasy.

Again, I cannot find evidence to support this other than my own memory.

I tried submitting a question via email at the Yahoo site, and I did get a response. But the response has nothing to do with the question I asked. (They told me that stats will count for players on the day a game is actually played, and not when it was originally scheduled.)

According to this thread last year, and looking at post 6, and my recollection from last year, is that the extra game did not count in either h2h or roto.

That is not to say they couldn't do something different this year though.

For what it's worth, ESPN is counting roto leagues and NOT head to head leagues.

As Jeff G mentioned, this year's situation is very different than last year's playoff game--this is the completion of the regular season, not a playoff. I think they OUGHT to count it. :-)

Sure does not look like Monday will count as you cannot select that day. I will have hit all of my position maximum games except catcher anyway...

I Agree with Hank. I am very surprised that today's game does not count in fantasy league standings. (Especially Roto Leagues) It is a regular season game, not a playoff game, and could cause an affect on leagues that are very close.

I wonder what the rational for not including the game could be.
