It's that time of year again. The baseball season is just around the corner! This thread is for preseason discussion of The Perfect Keeper League. Everyone is returning this year and it looks to be another great one. I have no new rules proposals to bring to the table this season, but if anyone else does, this is the thread to bring them up in.
Tentative Schedule:
March 4th: Extensions, Callups, and Prospect Drops due (pre-draft)
March 9th: Draft starts
Week after end of draft: contracts due
April 5th: Opening Day
End of draft - April 12th: Free drops of drafted players |

I, too am looking to improve on last year's ranking. Of course moving up from dead last shouldn't be too hard. Can't wait to see who is available for that 1st pick.

I am looking at clearing some cap room. Of course anybody on my roster is always available, but I want to move Dempster if anyone is interested. I also have some prospects that some teams might find interesting, Votto, Cueto and Chamberlain.

Yes forgot to mention that. I will also need to know by March 4th if you are going to drop a player for draft picks. I have one team's drop so far.
I would like to ask the thoughts on switching to ESPN. I can piggyback on Guru if/when he figures out how to do daily stat rips for weekly and monthly scoring. I just think it would be good to not have ties in WHIP. But it is ultimately up to you all. If you care, vote here!

Hasnt been too much action in the discussion thread yet. Hopefully the draft will heat things up a little bit.
Ive never used/seen ESPN's sight. If it has a lot of logo's and other junk to load on its pages though, it will take forever for my computer to open the pages. It even struggles with rotoworld.

My plan is to start the draft on Wednesday at noon EDT. I will send out a taken players list and draft matrix tomorrow morning. I am willing to delay the start of the draft by a day if that does not offer enough preparation time.

I've decided to stick with Yahoo! this year. I am going to be playing ESPN in the RIBC this year, so I will have a year to become familiar with it and see if it's any better.
So we will be using Yahoo's eligibility requirements, which I believe is 5 starts or 10 games played. I will set up the league next week.

My new computer at home does not have microsoft office, which means I couldnt get to it until today. But here is the rule regarding dropping prospects during the draft. And I believe it was you, Art, who wanted such a rule in the first place. :P
o During the draft, a manager may choose to draft more prospects than he has room for on his prospect roster if he does one of two things:
o Call up another player from his prospect roster to his active roster
o Drop a player from his prospect roster. In this case he will get an extra pick at the end of the draft

whatever works. I don't beleive I ever suggested to draft more prospects than you have room for. Call ups make sense and those have been done in the past and I guess dropping a prospect in the middle of the draft is really no different than calling one up.

I emailed CV but don't have much hopes he will pick today. I was going to keep the clock running through the weekend but I forgot to remind everyone, so in fairness I can't turn the clock on now. If only Bossman picked 35 minutes earlier... ;)

beebop's queue has run out so we will have to wait for him to wake up (its 4am Aussie time).
Art will get one pick at the end of the draft to replace Schilling, who Art can freely drop upon his retirement. So the 19th round now looks like: wiggs, beebop, art, wg, wg, art
wiggs, art, and WG can send me queues, if you wish, for your last picks and we can knock this thing out once beebop sends his.
