The draft is typically a slow, online draft which takes about 2 weeks, hosted at kafenatid.net. Timing will depend on your commish - assuming we get one and the league fills.

I will play to get up to 12 if needed (already in other AA).
I will also commish if needed. I've done an RIBC-AAA league before. It would be on Yahoo! as I wouldn't want to experiment with learning a new platform, especially starting a little behind.

I sent this link to few friends that were looking for a league. Hopefully they will join us soon.
Is it necessary to have 16 to play or can we just play with less? Teams would just be a little more stacked, but we can still declare a champ. How guru handles the winner's seating for next year could be up to him.

You could certainly go with less than 16, although there are probably enough people who would double up to fill the openings.
The real key is to get someone to serve as a commish. If we could get someone to step forward, we could push to fill the remaining slots and get things moving.
Time is now of the essence.

The RIBC AA#2 Northern League is full.
If any new managers come along within the next 15 hours or so I'll leave it up to the doublers-up whether theu wish to drop or continue.
I have registered our league for a draft at Kafenatid. I will notify you here when I receive the confirmatory e-mail from Kafenatid and send out an e-mail informing you how to register for the draft at Kafenatid.
I will set up a separate league organizing thread tomorrow morning. I want to give some thought to how serious our time situation is. But you may as well start thinking about a few things now.
1. Guru has suggested that we just assign draft positions randomly, rather than choose them, and I am inclined to agree. If anyone has strong feelings against this you might go ahead and express them.
2. I suggest we should start with a 4-hour clock on weekdays and a 6-hour clock on weekends. We have some catching up to do and with some attention to queueing we should be able to handle a 4-hour clock, as the other AA league was thinking of doing from the beginning anyway.
3. Anyone who is not familiar with Kafenatid or registered there now -- go to Kafenatid.net and register for a free account.
More information when I receive the confirming draft set-up e-mail from Kafenatid.
