To keep up with LeMoose's excellent detective work...

Both teams have on off day on Thursday, but Oakland plays at home on Friday.

The A's come back to Yankee stadium July 24-26. Both teams are off Thu July 23, but Oakland hosts Minnesota Wed July 22.

Sept 10 is a possibility, both teams have the day off with the Yanks in the middle of a home stand and the A's in between a series in Chicago and Minnesota.

Monday's game between the San Diego Padres and Philadelphia Phillies has been postponed because of inclement weather.

The game, which was to be the finale of a four-game series, will be rescheduled for a date to be determined.

San Diego isn't scheduled to come back to Philly.
-May 11th is possible (Padres go from Houston to Chicago, Philly on a homestand)
-July 23 is possible (Padres play home vs. Florida Wed July 22, Philly would go from Phi to Wsh)
-Aug 10 - SD has an off day to travel from SD to Mil, Phillies go from Phi to Chicago

(this is an excellent time killer!)

Postponed Phillies-Nationals game rescheduled for May 16

The Nationals-Phillies postponed game of April 15 has been rescheduled for Saturday, May 16. Game time will be 1:05 p.m. ET. Coupled with the regularly scheduled 7:05 p.m. contest for that Saturday, the rescheduled game gives fans access to the first weekend version of a day-night doubleheader (separate admission) at Nationals Park. Jackie Robinson Day, originally scheduled for April 15, will be celebrated prior to and during the 7:05 p.m. contest on May 16. Both the Nationals and Phillies will don No. 42 jerseys that evening.

April 27: Mariners at White Sox

The rained-out Mariners-White Sox game of April 27 has been rescheduled as part of a doubleheader Tuesday, April 28. The straight doubleheader begins at 4:05 p.m. CT, with the second game to follow approximately 30 minutes after Game 1 is completed.

Pitching matchups:
Bartolo Colon vs. Chris Jakubauskas
John Danks vs. Felix Hernandez

Don't look for Jim Thome to take part in either game. The White Sox designated hitter is dealing with a sore left heel suffered while running the bases over the weekend and would have only been used in a pinch-hitting role if Monday's game was played.

May 3: Cardinals at Nationals

With heavy rain in Washington, the finale of the Nationals' four-game series with the Cardinals was rained out on Sunday afternoon. A makeup date has not been announced.

Semi-educated guess: The teams have common off-days June 15 and July 23. June 15 is a travel day for both and occurs during interleague play. July 23 is a travel day for the Cardinals (in between series at Houston and at Philadelphia); the Nationals will be at home and could easily sandwich a makeup game between series vs. the Mets and Padres ... weather permitting.

Today's Astros-Nationals game was suspended because of rain with one out in the bottom of the 11th inning and the scored tied at 10. Washington had a runner, Elijah Dukes, on first and Josh Willingham was at the plate. That's where the game will pick up when the two teams resume the game on Thursday, July 9, at Minute Maid Park in Houston. The Nationals will remain the home team for the completion of the contest. According to the Elias Sports Bureau, all statistics compiled during today's game are official and will be reflected in the updated stats on Wednesday.

September 28: Twins at Tigers

Monday's Detroit Tigers-Minnesota Twins game has been rained out and rescheduled for 12:05 p.m. Tuesday. That will make for a day-night doubleheader at Comerica Park, with the originally scheduled game at 7:05 still taking place. The same starting pitchers -- Detroit's Rick Porcello and Minnesota's Nick Blackburn -- are expected because no one warmed up Monday night.
