Kenny Williams continues to prove why he is a top 5 GM in baseball.

If he didn't give up Beckham, then yeah this is probably a sweet deal.
Just don't expect the 3.00-ERA Peavy. In that ballpark and facing a DH, I'm curious if he can have an ERA under 4.00.

May not want to jinx things in case the deal is done. I remember once that Johan was a Red Sox done deal. So was Teixeria. And A-Rod was never coming back to Yankees. All 3 of those worked against a Red Sox fan! :0

I guess I should say, I never get too excited until I see a guy shaking hands and holding up a different colored jersey.

I doubt that Peavy would agree to a trade that would send him to a so-so AL team.

According to ESPN.com, Jake Peavy's agent "expressed doubt Thursday that his client is ready to sign off on a proposed trade" with the White Sox. The agent, Barry Axelrod, told ESPN's Jerry Crasnick that his client still has a "strong preference" to remain in the National League. "If I had to make a bet on it, I would guess that Jake would say he's not ready to take that step today,'' Axelrod said. "But he wouldn't necessarily preclude it at any time in the future." Peavy is scheduled to start Friday. If he takes the mound, it'll be a good indication that he isn't prepared to sign off on the deal.
The Sox are not so-so. I mean give the so-so teams some credit! ;) They are currently down 20-0 to the Twins in the 7th inning. Still I like to watch the SOx and hope they start winning at some point.

would love to see him in a Cardinals uniform. doubt that the cards have the right prospects available though. oh, and they're tight-wads.

Yea a so-so team that won the division last year and a world series 3 years ago. Everyone doubts the White Sox every year, but in the end they are always in it.
