0 Subject: Good Bye, Metrodome

I will miss the Metrodome even though it opened just a few moths before I moved away from Minnesota. I went the the second game ever played there, pre-season Twins vs. the Pete Rose-led Phillies, and one other game ever.

Why did I like it? Home field advantage! The best Twins teams always played very well at home and come playoff time, that dome is LOUD. And I don't care what you say, the Metrodome is one million times better than the old Kingdome. The translucent roof made the blue seats and green field vivid, the Kingdome was like playing in a poorly lit unfinished basement.

I'm sure the new ballpark will be great, but I'll never forget those two Game 7's...

I wasn't able to put the Metrodome on my list of Indoor Stadiums I Saw a Game in That Aren't in Service Anymore (Astrodome, Kingdome) even though I was in Minneapolis and had tickets one May weekend back in '98. I probably still have the tickets in a box somewhere...

I got to see one game there, in 2007, with a certain best pitcher on the planet pitching. Was a nice experience. It's probably not in the top 10 I've been to, but worthwhile.

The last two games of the 1991 World Series are probably the best two-game combination I've ever seen.

The Metrodome lives to see one more day... at least.

World Series game 7 back in the dome, thanks to the AL winning the All Star Game... IMO.

Go Twins!

I thought the Phils were going to sweep - so Game 2 will be the last one.

There are some decent baseball memories from the Metrodome, but I can't say I'll miss it at all. Looks like an arena football stadium to me.

All I can think of when I hear Metrodome is the baggy in the outfield.
