1. What was your plan/strategy entering the draft? Were you able to execute as you had planned?

My strategy was as follows: draft MI and CI early, wait on starting pitching but try and grab at least one top guy, wait as long as possible on closers.
I was able to accomplish this for the most part. I landed my target in the 1st round (Utley) and had 5 out 6 infield spots filled after round 10. I like my infield this year. In the past I had made MI/CI a priority, but moved away from this last year. As an addendum to this, I also drafted my catcher in round 3. I had not planned on this, but it seemed to make sense at the time. Much like Utley, with VMart I feel that I have a worry free, premium player at a difficult position.
I was able to wait on SP, as I took my first in round 7 with Nolasco. I think Nolasco takes a step forward this year. All the stat guys are high on him and if they are right, then I have gotten good SP value this late. My next two starters were drafted higher by me than in the other drafts. My reasoning for this amounted to the fact that most good closer options were gone, and I felt that Baker and Hudson provided more value than the RP available at that time. I could have gone back to hitting in these rounds, but then I don’t know what I would have been left with at SP.
As for closers, this is the first time in my RIBC (and qualifying) league, that I have seriously considered punting a category. Someone else (perhaps more than one person) noted this in the rationales and discussion thread, but RP were flying off the board faster than I had anticipated. I refused to play along, considered punting, but then eventually panicked and grab bed Jenks in round 9. At the time, this was a questionable move because of his injury. The stat guys also did not like Jenks. Since the pick, Jenks has been pitching well, so maybe this will turn out alright. Later on I took a chance with Brandon Lyon, which I didn’t like at the time and still don’t.

2. What were your favorite picks? What picks would you like to do over?
Favorite picks:
Jose Lopez at 10.13 – with MI eligibility, I was happy Lopez was still available here.
David Ortiz at 13.04 – one bad half really scared people away. He can’t be done, can he?
Travis Hafner at 21.04 – lots of potential to outperform this draft position, especially with the positive reports regarding his health.
Do Overs:
Marlon Byrd at 19.03 – This has less to do with Bryd himself, who I think will perform just fine, but I probably should have grabbed a MR here, like League or Gregerson, who both went later in the round.
Not a do over, but second guessing:
I noted this in my rationales. Maybe I should have supported the Lyon pick by passing on Milledge in round 17 and taking Lindstrom. That would have been a safer pick. But I hated wasting 2 picks on the HOU closer situation when it was so unsettled. And I was really sucked in by Milledge’s SB potential.

3. Looking over all of the teams, which ones do you like the most (other than your own)?
I like Goldcoach and Slackjawed Yokel, but this is purely based on the sight test, as I don’t run any projected stats or anything like that.

4. What surprised you most about the draft?
For my draft, it was the decision to spend a top pick on VMart. I made that move on the fly and it had a big impact on the rest of my draft, probably forcing me to miss out on another closer. If VMart give me the added offensive boost I am counting on, and Jenks keeps me out of the saves cellar, then I think it was a smart choice.
Otherwise, not much surprised me as a whole. To an extent, the drafting of closers and MR earlier than what felt normal based on past years was not something I was prepared for. But again, this is simply my sense of that trend. I have not gone back to see what the rate of drafting RP’s was in past drafts.

5. If you could start the whole thing over, would you do anything differently?
Nah, it’s too early for that. I like my team right now, but obviously when I look back at the draft later in the season, I’m going to have made some mistakes that I would love to change. But as of now, I’ll take this group of players and see what happens.

1. What was your plan/strategy entering the draft? Were you able to execute as you had planned?

With the 6th choice for draft position I chose the highest available draft pick, #5. Pujols and Ramirez would most likely have been the first two players drafted, but I knew that I would be fine with any of the next three players in my rankings. I like an early 1st round pick because there are usually still strong players available at the top of round three. My initial strategy was pretty standard; to concentrate on hitting first, then pitching, and wait until late in the draft to obtain saves. My one modification was to draft speed and strikeouts preferentially over the other categories in hitting and pitching. I was able to execute this strategy, but I think that this hurt my team.

2. What were your favorite picks? What picks would you like to do over?

The picks I like the best are 2.12 Ryan Zimmerman and 3.05 Nelson Cruz. Zimmerman compares well with Longoria who was an early 1st round pick in most drafts, and I think that Cruz’s entire season will be like the first part of 2009 prior to his injury. Picking Yadier Molina in the 12th round was a mistake as I should have waited for later rounds to pick a catcher. Compounding the error, Molina may start the season on the DL.

3. Looking over all of the teams, which ones do you like the most (other than your own)?

I like Guru, Sanfordors and Holt. I once posted that I thought that in RIBC and RIFC the teams drafting at the top had a significant advantage. This theory was quickly shot down by numerous Gurupies, and in this draft Guru, Sanfordors and Holt are all at the end of the draft. I have participated in other leagues with Holt, and he always drafted excellent teams. RIBC 2010 is no exception.

4. What surprised you most about the draft?

No surprises. With few exceptions the draft progressed quickly with most managers following conventional strategies.

5. If you could start the whole thing over, would you do anything differently?

Midway through I decided that I did not like the way my team was turning out, and I still felt that way at the end. I cannot put my finger on the exact problem other than I think I should have paid more attention to the pitching and hitting ratios. Unless I am off in my player evaluations or I can rectify the problems through trades or the waiver wire, I think that it will be AAA for the Hoboken Zephyrs in 2011. However I drafted Adrian Beltre in the 25th round the year of his career season and rode him to a 3rd place finish, so I know that there is always hope.

I decided to try something a little different this year by trying to stay balanced in every category and at every position. In years past, I’ve waited on starting pitchers, closers, middle infielders, catchers, or anybody else that I felt would be a reach early in the draft. After all, there is something that just feels ridiculous about taking a Jason Bartlett when there are still Carlos Lees available (or at least it feels ridiculous to me). So I tried to keep things balanced by taking OBP/SLG in the first two rounds, then strikeout starters in the next two, then middle infielders with SB potential in the next two, then closers, and so on. It seems to have worked reasonably well, as my numbers show a very balanced team.

My other goal to take young, high-upside players in the middle rounds that had the potential to breakout in favor of declining veterans returning from injuries . It’s very difficult to take an unproven player like Cameron Maybin when there are still plenty of well-known, proven players on the board, but I stuck with my strategy and I’m interested to see how it turns out.

Good: I could not have asked for more at the beginning of the draft with Haren and Verlander falling into my lap at 3.10 and 4.07.

Bad: I probably took Austin Jackson a round too early. The Chris Davis pick could be a disaster, too.

Meh: Matt Wieters in the 7th round may have been unnecessary since there were several solid catchers that lasted into the 13th-14th round, but I was staying with my young upside strategy.

MBT, loki, and Uptown seem to have good teams after a quick two-minute glance, but that’s just based on the eye test.

1. What was your plan/strategy entering the draft? Were you able to execute as you had planned?

I usually put together target aggregate numbers that I keep an eye on while drafting. I draft hitting eyeing the percentage categories, and try to avoid steal specialists who will hurt those numbers; don't forget to get a 2B and SS even if there are better players on my chart to avoid bottom feeding all season. On the pitching side: Draft pitching figuring saves come off the table by round 8 to avoid chasing all year; don't over-worry about K guys which is sometimes more a function of playing near the max IP; and don't forget about WHIP guys late.

On the hitting side I feel like I did my job. Using the free projections available on the net, I far exceeded the targets. Now I just have to hope a few aging vets still have something left in the tank. I fell a little shorter on projected steals than I'd like, but I have balance there with 5 players who do have 15-20 digit potential so maybe someone can surprise and exceed.

On pitching, even though I did not get my first starter until rd 6, I have two good closers and a staff I'm comfortable with. All have good K rates, but getting a good score in K sometimes is just a factor of hitting or approaching the IP max.

2. What were your favorite picks? What picks would you like to do over?

It is easy to like my top four picks (Mauer, Pedroia, Dunn, Morales) as I feel like I landed the best player on the board, hit some positions early that it is tough to get quality in later rounds. I'm always second guessing mid round MI, but I have a lot riding on my two Brewers infielders (McGehee, Escobar)hoping the provide the value so I do not have to play MI roulette all year. I may have reached on my middle relievers (Neshek rd 17, Romo rd 21) that were not even on radars in the other RIBC leagues, but I wanted them and got them so they need to deliver. My round 19 pick Joe Blanton may miss 4-6 weeks so that could be a lost pick as it may not be worth holding that roster spot.

3. Looking over all of the teams, which ones do you like the most (other than your own)

The quick glance test has me liking MBT, holt, Goldcoach, and JL. Filthy has to get a shout out for his 1-2-3 starting pitching, but he'll probably hurt offensively, but has the solid players to deal for quality hitting so could contend.

4. What surprised you most about the draft?

After doing this format for 6 years, not much. Pretty much held form, no one makes big mistakes. I was surprised that a few folks I bypassed in the mid rounds made it back to me the next round. Makes me feel like second guessing I may have miscalculated, but I am happy with my roster.

5. If you could start the whole thing over, would you do anything differently?

I'm actually very satisfied with the overall team I ended up with. For once I bordered on conservative with some of my choices. When I have been successful I usually stay away from injury risks with my top picks but I did pick up a few players returning from major injuries which could be scary.

This is my third invite to the RIBC majors and I have yet to re-qualify for a return invite, but every year I have been in AAA or AA I've qualified for a promotion. I hope to break that trend this year and hope to make a run for the big title.

1. What was your plan/strategy entering the draft? Were you able to execute as you had planned?

I planned to take 6 hitters and 2 closers in rounds 1-8, and then a starter in round 9. I actually ended up with 3 closers instead of 2.

I decided not to get a catcher early (assuming that Mauer wouldn’t be there at pick 1.14 – he wasn’t). In recent years, I’ve taken catchers early, and never felt that it worked out that well, when the season was over.

2. What were your favorite picks? What picks would you like to do over?

I think my early picks were solid but unspectacular. Ellsbury worries me a bit – I really need him to have a good year with lots of steals to justify that pick.

Based on a comparison with the other drafts, I was early on Dempster, Kelly Johnson, Casey Blake, & Jeff Niemann. I’m not unhappy with any of those picks,... yet. In each case, I knew I might be jumping early, but decided not to get greedy.

I thought J.D. Drew was good value in round 10, but still took him earlier than any other draft. He’s been having a miserable spring, too.

Guys who I seemed to get better value on (vs. the other drafts) include Kouzmanoff (rd. 20), & Huff (21). We'll see if they pan out.

I liked B. Webb in round 12, but the latest reports have me concerned that this might not work out so well.

3. Looking over all of the teams, which ones do you like the most (other than your own)?

I really haven’t paid much attention to other teams. In past years, I always calculated pro-forma standings along the way, but I opted not to do that this year. I was always concerned that it might be leading me astray.

Instead, I just compared my own team’s total stats vs. general targets for each category to make sure that I was getting proper balance.

4. What surprised you most about the draft?

Closers went a little later than I expected, but middle relievers went much earlier.

5. If you could start the whole thing over, would you do anything differently?

Nah.

1. What was your plan/strategy entering the draft? Were you able to execute as you had planned?

My strategy for the past several years has been to wait on starting pitching for 6 or 7 rounds, maybe grab a top closer around the 5th round. I was able to stick to that. I also vowed to try and pay attention to ratio's more than in the past and while I feel I did a better job than usual, it didn't pan out as hoped

2. What were your favorite picks? What picks would you like to do over?

I really like Matt Kemp in the first round, so that's likely the kiss of death. I also like Phil Hughes in round 16. My guess is NY might show a little restraint with him innings wise, but if he can remotely approach his %'s and K rate from last year as a RP, I think he's real value.

Worst picks, I'm not thrilled with Polanco and Tejada, picked trying to fill MI slots. I also don't like what I'm hearing about Corey Hart. Time will tell.

3. Looking over all of the teams, which ones do you like the most (other than your own)

As the draft unfolded, I just kept saying to myself, " another great pick by Slackjawed Yokel". And based on Rotowires draft software, he's clearly the team to beat. Sorry about the jinx Slackjawed ;)

I also like the teams for MBT, Tosh and Guru

4. What surprised you most about the draft?

I think I was most surprised by Filthy drafting three SP's out of the gate. By doing so it jumbled up the drafting of pitchers IMO, and waiting this year to draft a starter might not have worked for the best. In 2009 I was able to grab King Felix in round 7, in 2008 John Smoltz, and this year Wandy Rodriquez. Huge dropoff I think.

5. If you could start the whole thing over, would you do anything differently?

I don't think so. There might be a pick or two I would change but hindsight is 20-20.

It's time to get the show on the road, good luck to all.

1. What was your plan/strategy entering the draft? Were you able to execute as you had planned?

I am horrible at planning, and really just wing it on most things, especially drafting. Every year there are gems and duds splashed throughout the entire draft, so I just go based on feel, and try to not fall behind and keep my queue constantly updated.

Other than falling behind briefly at the beginning, and forgetting to make my queue available a couple of times, I think everything went pretty well. My first few picks threw off the general plan of beefing up the offense, but I did manage to draft 12 bats after 18 rounds, so there is some balance and depth hidden in there.

2. What were your favorite picks? What picks would you like to do over?

Faves:
Thome in the 25th, could turn out alright.
Sean Rodriguez in the 18th, if given a shot, I like his odds to succeed.
Lindstrom in the 17th, named the closer, I have horseshoes when it comes to closers.
Hudson in the 15th, I swear he's gonna be a beast.
Cuddyer in the 11th, thought he slipped quite a bit.
Carlos Gonzalez in the 8th, ready to have a huge year.
Heath Bell in the 6th, thought he slipped quite a bit also.
Halladay, Greinke, Johan 1/2/3, its like Randro but better.

Do-overs:
David Aardsma in the 7th, should've went with another bat.
Nick Johnson in the 9th, big reach on an injury prone Yank.
Rzepczynski in the 21st, already hurt and dropped.
Baker, Francisco, and Bailey as the depth can and probably will be improved on at some point.

3. Looking over all of the teams, which ones do you like the most (other than your own)?

Started looking and about 6 teams in realized that they are all really good again. Qualifying is going to be tough, good luck to all!

4. What surprised you most about the draft?

I was personally onboard the middle relief train, but was way off on any of my speedster sleepers. Really lacking in steals, and there were 5-6 guys that I really would've liked to have, yet they constantly were drafted while I was trying to beef up other areas.

5. If you could start the whole thing over, would you do anything differently?

Probably adjust my philosophy a bit more towards speed and a bit less towards pitching. I really like what I ended up with though. I will still likely make a ton of moves, and make a few trades along the way. Hard to project, but I am looking to improve on my second place finish from last year! Again, good luck to all, and thanks a ton to Guru for setting this all up. And thanks to all who posted placeholders, and made designated picks for me.

1. What was your plan/strategy entering the draft? Were you able to execute as you had planned?
Entering the draft, (1) I was going to draft Hanley first, and hopefully a solid CI at the end of round two. (2) Make sure to fill MI early with a solid hitter, as opposed to someone like Yuniesky Betancourt later in the draft (no disrespect to Yuni). (3) Try to hold off until round 6+ to take a SP. (4) If I'm looking at two similar players, take the younger guy

Was I able to succeed? No. (I ended up with Pujols) Yes (Kendrick in Round 9). Yes (Cain in Round 7). Hard to say (I mostly ended up with a young team).

2. What were your favorite picks? What picks would you like to do over?
I'm happy with any of my first 19 picks, although Buehrle at 15.02 makes me say 'Blah', and Reimold at 13.02 is starting off as a question mark. When looking the the five RIBC drafts overall, nine of my players were the latest player drafted, so hopefully I'm getting good value.

3. Looking over all of the teams, which ones do you like the most (other than your own)?
Slackjawed Yokel kept taking the one guy in my queue time after time. So I think his team is good. There are a number of different strategies going on this year, and I'm looking forward to seeing how they pan out.

4. What surprised you most about the draft?
This is my seventh year in the RIBC format (4th in RIBC), and I was more surprised about several things than ever before.
(1) I'm still shocked that Tequila took Hanley instead of Pujols at 1.01. I had based my pre-draft thoughts on having Ramirez, and still found myself six rounds into the draft forgetting that I had Pujols.
(2) Filthy going SP-SP-SP to start ... but when he took a C in the 4th round as his first hitter, I'm pretty sure I spit a little onto my computer. That was just funny to me.
(3) Holt starting the draft with OF-OF-OF-SS-OF. That's a lot of OFers.
(4) Everyone's fascination with middle relief. Picking at the turn, I had to decide almost every turn whether to play along, or keep drafting players that were slipping.
(5) Tequila picked before me 13 rounds (at the turn). And he never took the number one guy in my queue. Thanks man!

5. If you could start the whole thing over, would you do anything differently?
Nope. Bring it on. Good luck to everyone.

1. What was your plan/strategy entering the draft? Were you able to execute as you had planned?

After having done ok in the RIBC big leagues before, and having done awful, I think I've honed in on a strategy. And it's mainly trying to avoid having to settle on guys that hurt your team. So, since outfield is generally the deepest position, I'll wait to pick them unless there's a lot of value there. (conversely, with the infield positions, and MI in particular, being thin, I want to get them early) So, I did manage to do this fairly well by grabbing 4 infielders before grabbing my second outfielder in the 9th. But I did go ahead and get Shin-Soo Choo in the 5th. Another aspect of this strategy is to load up on middle relievers instead of mediocre starters, but with them flying off the board I wasn't able to get the guys I wanted.

2. What were your favorite picks? What picks would you like to do over?

On a number of picks, I was happy with the value I was able to get. I avoided chasing runs, and I think this allowed me to get some guys that had fallen longer than they should have. I'm thinking Carpenter, Weeks, Pence, Kubel and Vlad all meet this criteria.

On the downside, I can say I'm not overly enthused with Chris Young (az version) being my fourth outfielder, or with Fuentes being my second closer. But I think Fuentes was as good as I could hope for in the late 8th round.

3. Looking over all of the teams, which ones do you like the most (other than your own)?

It's always fairly tricky to gauge everyone's team, as more often than not it comes down to depth, and not the first 10 picks.. but what stands out are the first 10 or so rounds. Looking through the teams, the rosters I like are Tosh, mbt, species, and jeffg.

4. What surprised you most about the draft?

A couple of times, I remember being surprised at things that were happening. As Tosh mentioned, holt loading up on OF early (particularly as I tend to like to wait on OF). Actually, then holt chose 5 straight pitchers after 4 out of his first 5 being OF's. But, looking at his roster now, he was able to get decent guys after this with Swisher, Furcal, Conor Jackson... so who knows? Also, Guru getting 3 closers by the 8th round was a surprise. (Particularly as I was eyeing Qualls in the 8th..)

5. If you could start the whole thing over, would you do anything differently?

nah, I'm fairly happy how this one turned out. Of course, once again, I'm one Chris Carpenter injury away from having a patchwork pitching staff...

1. What was your plan/strategy entering the draft? Were you able to execute as you had planned?

Picking 16th you can't do a lot of planning. You're at the mercy of all the other managers and just roll with it. For example, if Lincecum and Tulowitzki are available at 1.16 and 2.01 then I take them... They weren't so I end up with Crawford and Holliday. The only strategy there is "best player available" I guess. I had some late rd possible bargain picks in mind but most of them didn't pan out, which is ok because they were mostly risky picks anyway (like Nick Johnson, Kelly Johnson, JD Drew, Chris Young SD, etc.). It was my intent to not punt any categories. While I am not overjoyed with my closers, I do have some, so I didn't punt. I have more SB's than I normally do. I don't think I've punted anywhere. A big part of my strategy is to heavily focus on the % cats, and then hope that good numbers there will naturally mean good counting numbers. I have a serious aversion to drafting obp's under .350, slg's under .440 or so, and whip's over 1.30. I also can't stand low K/9 pitchers. Of course, these things can be hard to achieve in the late rounds.

2. What were your favorite picks? What picks would you like to do over?

I like most of my picks. Crawford gave me a good start on SB's. All of the early OF's should make it so that I don't get in an OPS hole. Peavy concerns me a bit. All of my closers concern me (Marmol, Street, Capps, oh my). I wouldn't call any of them definite do-overs though.

3. Looking over all of the teams, which ones do you like the most (other than your own)?

Always a hard question. I have an easier time finding teams that I don't like... Most RIBC managers know what they're doing. There's only two, maybe three teams that I don't really like. In-season management and luck have as much to do with winning this league as drafting does. I think I usually end up with like 7 of my original draft class of 25 on my final roster, so it's hard for me to put too much stock in opening day rosters. If someone held a gun to my head I'd just say I like Slackjawed Yokel's and Loki's teams. They have a lot of players that I personally like.

4. What surprised you most about the draft?

I understand the value of saves in this league, but I was still surprised by how early some very crappy closers were drafted. I guess I was hoping the crap closers would stick around longer. It sure made for some amazing bargains though. I can't believe some of the players that were still hanging around in rds 12 and 13. Same thing with all the chasing of set-up men. It made for some good bargains on position players and SP's. And it's funny because set-up men are often dropped before they get their chance to save any games.

5. If you could start the whole thing over, would you do anything differently?

Maybe I should have reached to get a really good closer. I don't like my closers. I just want them to be healthy and give me saves, that's all. They might be ok. I like my team. I've got a few guys that are shots in the dark but who cares? You always gotta have someone to cut...

Should be a very interesting season.

What was your plan/strategy entering the draft? Were you able to execute as you had planned?
Last year my strategy was to go heavy on bats and wait on pitching. I decided to change things up a little this year, because quite frankly a lot of owners go heavy on bats and wait for pitching. I wanted to get a top tier SP in the first 5 rounds (King Felix Rd 2) and grab the best closer I could in the first 7 rounds (Broxton Rd 5). I did not, however, plan on getting three SP in the first 10 rounds. My offense isn’t very flashy, but I think it will keep me in the hunt and my pitching staff should be good if they stay healthy. I prefer drafting somewhere in the middle in a deep draft like this one so when the #6 pick was sitting there I had to jump on the opportunity. Finally, I enjoy writing the pick evaluations, but I have to be careful about writing too much information because I play in a keeper league with three guys who frequent this website and our draft wasn’t until March 22 so I had to be careful about what I wrote in some of those pick rationales.

What were your favorite picks? What picks would you like to do over?
My team - I couldn’t resist grabbing Ubaldo Jimenez in the 7th round. I would have preferred a bigger bat at that point in the draft but I couldn’t pass up the value. Alex Gordon in the 19th could be huge if he gets his head on straight. I liked Cust in the 16th, but now that he’s been sent down I’m not sure what to make of that pick. I also think I grabbed too many OF and should have picked up a few more IF players.

Other interesting picks – Round 4, Holt, Jose Reyes - Reyes is the biggest boom/bust pick in the draft. I did the same thing last year with A-Rod in round 2 so these things can work out.

Round 6, Species, Carlos Lee – Great value here, I was going to pick him up with my next pick if he had made it back.

Round 9, Rocket, Nick Johnson – I love this pick, he could be huge this year.

Round 15, Sanfordors, Corey Hart – Which Hart will you have with this pick? I like the pick and would have made it myself in Round 16.

Round 18, Holt, Randy Wolf – Wolf is one of those sneaky pitchers who never seems to put up outstanding numbers, but he NEVER kills your team either. Nice pick

Looking over all of the teams, which ones do you like the most (other than your own)?
I’ll go with the consensus and give it to Slackjaw (I hope that curse works)

What surprised you most about the draft?
Nothing surprises me in this draft anymore. When you’re drafting with 16 other people anything can and usually does happen. There were several picks that made me scratch my head, but I’m sure I made some questionable picks myself.

If you could start the whole thing over, would you do anything differently?
More infield help and less OF depth. I’m happy with my pitchers, but I think I would have grabbed another closer instead of three SP in the first 10 rounds.

1. What was your plan/strategy entering the draft? Were you able to execute as you had planned?
When my turn to pick draft position, I choose the seventh spot simply because I wanted to be between Filthy and MBT and watch them take turns decimating my queue; this portion of my plan was perfectly executed. After that my overall plan was to focus on quality players/best on the board without regard for position thru the first 7 rounds, and ignore closer runs throughout. I managed to adhere to this although a couple of times I did feel some strong twitches (rounds 5&6 saw some pretty good closers go as well as the 8/9ounds) I did select Mariano in round 5 which with the MBT pick of Broxton (My 1st choice) met my value criteria.

2. What were your favorite picks? What picks would you like to do over?
I thought getting Cano at slot 3.07 (39 overall), Rauch and Morales (both starting the season as closers) in rounds 16 & 17 and Bengie Molina with my last pick were excellent. I really like the way my draft finished off with Encarnacion round 20, F.Sanchez 21, Atkins 22, Betancourt 24, and Molina25. the exception was Holland at 23 (my only real do over) and he may yet contribute; the question is do I wait on him? An alternate do over is my 14.10 pick of De La Rosa. I like him a lot but MBT picked Liriano at 14.11 who I thought would still be available in round 15.

3. Looking over all of the teams, which ones do you like the most (other than your own)?
Offensively I like (fear actually) the looks of JL’s team. He’s put together a line-up with very few holes (KAZ maybe) in it. If his two rookies Blanks and Jackson come any where close to their expectations he’ll be among the batting stats leaders. In spite of Filthy’s top three pitchers (awesome) I think MBT has a stronger overall staff.

4. What surprised you most about the draft?
How far both Beltran and Soriano (rounds 13 &14 respectively) fell from previous years ADPs. I was surprised that my wariness of them was so widespread.

5. If you could start the whole thing over, would you do anything differently?
I still like my overall strategy and think I would have followed it, however knowing what I do know I would have picked Heyward at 10.10 in lieu of Quentin.
