0 Subject: 2010 World Series Action

Hmm, let's see, there was the Earthquake Series, 2002, 2010... I guess in 2018 the Giants will play the Mariners in the World Series. Will they make it four for four in losing to AL West teams?

Seriously, I really can't predict what will happen in this series. The Giants could win by simply letting The Freak and Matt Cain shut out the Rangers winning two games each. Or Tiny Tim could look human like in the NLCS game 5 and the Rangers bats could knock in 7 runs a game. I could imagine scenarios where either team's catcher ends up the MVP, making the headline writer's job real easy - Molina pays the Giants back... Buster shows why the Giants got rid of Benji... Josh Hamilton could break into a gospel song when he accepts the WS MVP. Would love to hear what Brian Wilson, owner of the worst beard in the history of sports, would say on the podium.

I have no clue how this series will play out. I like both teams and will be happy for the long suffering fan base of the eventual winner.

Have to agree, tough to call. I could go either way but pulling slightly for the Rangers with their plethora of Ex-Angels. Looking forward to a good series either way...

Looks like the Rangers are slight favorites to win it all. -145 to +125 for SF, courtesy of bodog. A lot of vig on that bet. I like the over/under on game 1....5.5 Runs. That's about the lowest I've ever seen.

I predict the Rangers will have trouble with Lincecum's delivery, having not played him. And SF wins a low-scoring game 1.

Always seems like when two ace pitchers get together it never pans out the way you hope.

Huge win for SF

really, isn't any win in the World Series, a huge win?

it was disappointing seeing Texas lose, and i knew it was going to be bad news leaving the bases loaded in one inning, and a man on third in the next (or was it vice-versa), because you're just not gonna get that many chances against Lincecum.

these are two evenly matched teams, and the team that takes advantage of its baserunners is going to win the whole thing.

The Bum really shined last night. I came into this series without a favorite team, I like players on both squads, have many friends who have been lifelong fans of each team... it wasn't until Game 3 when I saw GW and Laura Bush in the Emperor's chairs that I thought, "Go Giants!"

Here's to the Freak! It's All Saints' Day, time to dazzle them!

"I made my arguments and went down in flames. History will prove me right." -- Texas Rangers owner George W. Bush after voting against realignment and a new wild-card system during a Major League Baseball owners meeting in September 1993. Bush was the lone dissenter in a 27-1 vote.

congrats Giants. excluding game one, that pitching was unreal.

it's interesting to see the reactions of my fellow Texas Rangers fans. for the most part, there is a "it sucks we didn't win, but we are so glad to have been here, and man, Spring Training can't come soon enough!"

crazy that this team has turned a football-crazed city into a baseball town.

have you seen the performance of the 'Boys/Texans and the Longhorns?...the only major football interest has to be TCU. Not a huge surprise that baseball was a significant point of intrigue.

congrats to the Giants. way to shut down the middle of the order!

When the final four were there, it was pretty clear that the pitching favored the NL. I am happpy for SF, but it was too bad for the Rangers. Too teams that were easy to root for, too bad one had to win. Congrats to Giants and their fans.

It was very interesting seeing Lincecum's face when he gave up that dinger to Cruz. He was upset, and then started to throw the ball all over the place. But the next two batters swung anyway--striking themselves out on pitches out of the zone.

Partly, I think, this was out of respect for Lincecum. But I think the Rangers' inexperience showed a bit there, as the players got too tight and started to think they could win it by just swinging freely for the fence.

congrats to the Giants. They clearly outplayed the Rangers and played a good series--overcoming the fact that they kept sending Burrell up to the plate.

I have been a Giants fan since I was 7 years old in 1960. I have waited my whole life to say "The San Francisco Giants are the World Series Champions".
Boy does that feel good!
