Here's a throwback thread. Its a shame these have died off here.
Got to see the first few innings of Yankees/Tigers on my lunch break. CC got into early trouble with bases loaded/0 outs. Managed to get out with only 1 run across. With Verlander on the other mound, that may be enough.
Jayson Werth started out right w/ the Nats and a hit. And Chipper shows he's got some gas left going 1-2 w/ a run in the early game
My RiBC hitters are off to a nice start at least (chipper and mccann in the early game). |

Ouch. I may regret being big on Edinson Volquez so early. He's on a lot of my teams. First 4 batters - HR, HR, Walk, Single.

Feel sorry for those Yankee fans who thot it was too cold and wet to occupy their $1000 seats behind the plate....

They aren't big enough baseball fans to have seats behind home plate if a little wet chill in the air keeps them from going to a home opener with seats behind home plate!!!
Verlander and Sabathia looking average (though nice K totals) and Gallardo looking average. Edinson Volquez looking like he just had surgery yesterday.
And then we have Livan Hernandez looking good and Derek Lowe looking like a stud on opening day so far.
Odd day for pitching.

That's what I meant Khahan :)
I still think Opening Day should start on a Monday at 1 PM Central in Cincinnati.

Padres lineup is hideous. Orlando Hudson batting 3rd and Brad Hawpe 4th.

Yes, and a game in Washington, D.C. I don't ever recall a Thursday opening day.

Went to the Nats-Braves game. The Nationals look even worse than last year. First inning I was missing Werth, by the last inning I just pitied him.

They certainly made an odd decision in starting Ankiel and sending Bernadina to AAA. Seems to me if you can get past Werth and Zimmerman, none of those other guys are going to hurt you.
