Not sure I understand that GO. If we have 7 keepers and I trade my 17th round pick, wouldn't that make it my 10th rounder going to Hoboken?

Barilko - we have a 24 man roster. In our draft program rounds 1-7 are keepers so GO is simply knocking them out and starting round 8 as round 1.

This makes it easier to follow trades for round 1 picks. Either way, his intent was to trade his lowest available pick each time. Keeping that in mind, we can call it round 24 or round 17 but its his last pick either way.

Like I said always looking to make some moves.

I have 6 surefire keepers who could be had for the right price but would be very difficult to pry away from me.

McCutchen, Miggy, Encarnacion, Gomez, Rendon, Felix.

For the last spot I have several options. Any of these could be available in trades as well.

Gray, Holliday, Zimmerman, Andrus, Rosenthal.

Khahan...that is basically what I am saying.

If we have 7 keepers, that means rounds 1-7 are the keeper guys, which would make a 17th rounder (17 rounds subtract 7 keepers) a 10th round pick, no?

So I should be giving up my 10th, not my 9th. Unless my math is wrong.

Keepers are always the last 7 rounds for draft pick purposes. A 17th is the last round of the drafted new players.

Barilkos point is on the pick he is giving up. Not the one received from Loki. That round was moved up an additional round even once we take out the keeper rounds on account of Loki trading his last pick multiple times.

I've got a bunch of guys, and everyone is available!

Looking to add some HRs. Willing to package guys together, one on one, or send guys away for a pick. I've done all your research for you and now await offers! Or just send me your list of available guys and I will make YOU an offer. All guys are top 100 players, with 2 extras listed at the end.

So let's get started!

(Listed with Fantasy Pros projections)

Todd Frazier: 54th overall, dual eligibility, 4th overall at 3b.

JD Martinez: 95th overall. Rotochamp has him at 59th overall. Available for a ham sandwich.

Hunter Pence: 35th overall. 5 Category contributor.

David Ortiz: 60th overall. Great new additions ahead of him in the lineup will lead to more RBIs and better stats. CHEAP!!!

Hanley Ramirez: 24th overall. Huge stadium and lineup upgrade, fills a shallow position.

Troy Tulowitzki: 22nd overall. Another shallow position filler. If he stays healthy he can be MVP. Even if he misses a few games he still combines with a WW SS to create a tier 1 option.

George Springer: 50th overall. The Phenom! Build for the future with this chap!

PITCHERS:

Cole Hamels: 47th overall: Steady as they come. K's, ratios, he has it all! Not expensive!

Adam Wainwright: 49th overall: Also very steady, already has had the TJ. Will get you stats all over. An Ace!

Jon Lester: 55th Overall: New park, easier division, all signs point to awesome! And the best part is he is cheap!

Craig Kimbrel: 63rd overall: Is there anyone steadier? If you worry about a closer losing his job, get one of the sure things.

Glen Perkins: 142nd overall: A down year last year, but I will throw him to you for a cheese sandwich. No pork required.

Carlos Carrasco: 129th overall: The sleeper stud of the 2015 draft. He will be awesome this year, book it. And he's cheap!

I am traveling the 26-29th for a wedding and while I should have access will be managing more on autopilot. I would prefer to be in mid-late rounds for this period where it would be easier to leave queues as needed.

Remember dpr you can always leave instructions and set people to draft for you. most everybody in this league has proved pretty reliable in that respect.

This draft moves really fast so over 4 days we could get through 10 rounds. Hard to look that far out without getting an extended period to catchup on who has been drafted which I am not sure I will be able to have while traveling.

The following are available for picks
Sonny Gray- Young top 100 ranked putcher coming off a great first season
Matt Holliday- Perennial top OF who should have some solid seasons left in him
Ryan Zimmerman- When healthy has been drafted in first few rounds. Transition to 1b could lead to increased ABs
Elvis Andrus- SS who provides a lot of SBs at a shallow position

Keeper Update
Would anyone be against noon on Thursday 3/19 for a bit earlier keeper deadline? And then we start the draft maybe Friday morning with no timer until everyone picks (and over the weekend).

I start a new job Monday 3/23 and have a wedding that weekend. Figure I have a much better shot at getting everything setup for the draft on Thursday/Friday while I'm watching the opening days of March Madness.

I've got 8 guys I'm trying to decide on keepers. Willing to do a 2:1 involving Jordan Zimmerman, Alex Cobb and/or Dee Gordon for a keeper upgrade and draft picks.

With Dee and Billy Hamilton and Christian Yelich I'm pretty solid in SB so I'd be looking for a good power bat or a pitcher upgrade.

Getting closer!

Just a thought....I've seen a couple leagues now with issues and debates coming up because teams not getting their keepers in on time.

Do we want to set up some sort of penalty for late keepers to ensure we don't have the same problems?

One league I am in there is a penalty of a 5th round pick if you are late. The pick is then awarded to the last place team from the year before, and if there is more than 1 team late (there never has been), then it goes to the second last place team, etc.

Just a thought and a way to stifle any potential debates.

I think we make it abundantly clear that if you don't have them in by the deadline I am just picking them for you. The penalty also seems interesting.

The loss of a draft pick would save you from having to make arbitrary decisions and also would be an implementable penalty for the owner who didn't get those keepers posted.

Although looking at last year's standings, having your skill involved in picking their keepers is a pretty sizeable detriment too.
855Khahan

I think I only ever remember twice in this league where keepers weren't in on time. And one of them they were simply 5 mins late. The other they were in first thing the next morning.

Don't think its really an issue for us and I would think the idea of not getting to pick your keepers is a pretty steep penalty.
And especially this year with keepers due by noon and draft starting the next day I think GO is pretty much going to see the keeper list, input and move on so there wont be any time for 'hold on, I'm just an hour late.' kind of requests.

Alright so long as we are clear on that. I've seen some arguments in other leagues and thought if we can avoid that before it happens here that would be best.

Actually, I like a later draft (especially in an established league). It helps keep things straight in my mind, and often the later player information helps me avoid drafting mistakes I might make in the early drafts.

Agreed. The later the draft the better, so long as it finishes on time! But I don't think we've ever had that as an issue.

If you draft too early you end up getting stuck with guys like Wheeler and Darvish much earlier than you should.
