Thinking of trying these out(draftkings, fanduel, draftday, etc). Anyone have any experience? Can they be profitable?

Really would like to get some in depth discussion. This forum crushed back in the smallworld days. Maybe we can continue that tradition.

I have affiliate relationships with four of them. If you try them out, please register using the following links:

Fanduel

DraftStreet

StarStreet

Daily Joust

FanDuel appears to be the biggest. Their offerings seem very standard for the industry.

DraftStreet is my favorite for Hoops, because I like to play the 7-day contests. They also offer a 7-day baseball contest option, which I enjoy.

StarStreet offered a very cool "share" based game in baseball last year that I played alot. Essentially, it allowed you to draft multiple shares of the same player for a daily contest. Lots of leverage! I don't know if they will offer that version again this year or not.

In addition to a traditional format, Daily Joust has a solo game, where you compete against a fixed score, rather than a random opponent.

I offer sortable stats for each of these four sites.

I'm currently having problems with Fanduel getting funds from my account.

I've withdrawn funds from all sites without issue.

4/4 on cashing my 1st night(2 50/50s, 8th in a 100 person league and 2nd in a 20 team league). Know that won't hold up. Seems like edges are pretty tiny in hoops. Might wait til baseball before I really immerse myself. Had a blast sweating my guys.

Guru, signed up for fanduel via your link. Hope you got credit for it.

I also learned about the daily games thru Guru, thanks, am now into my second season in hoops, started with both Fanduel and Draftstreet, but liked the pricing system better at Draftstreet, so now only play there. Seems to me that hoops is more skill, and baseball is more luck, on a daily basis, but I will move into baseball in low cost games when the season starts. In hoops, I play 20 league games, low cost, the daily 500 league game for $ 2, and at least one or two of the 50/50 leagues, to try to offset the cost of the other leagues. Most days it works out ok, I am ahead a little for the season, and really enjoy the daily games. I have developed a strategy for picking players, using a formula of 2.2x price for expected points i.e a $10,000 player looking at match up and guessing that the player will get 22 points or more, ,trying to field a roster that looks like it has a good chance of finishing with 240 points, watch injury reports right up to roster freeze, and then just enjoy the game.
