I'm normally not a fan of watching Spring ball, but the WBC was awesome baseball, and super exciting to watch. Seeing how serious some of these fans and teams take this tournament inspires hope for the future of "the Classic".

Great job by the Dominican squad, all their kudos are well deserved. Glad to be a fan of the Blue Jays affiliate of Team Dominican. Hope to see Edwin Encarnacion driving in Jose Reyes all season long. Add Bautista to the mix and the Jays might just live up to the Vegas odds that favour them this year!

I hope to see more star players compete in the next tournament. The Canadian team had nearly all of it's best on hand, and was only a couple bad pitches from getting into that final 8. The final tallies against USA and Mexico don't really suggest it, but these games were wars... literally, where the Mexico game is concerned! I am extremely proud of the Canadian players, especially the Vancouver Island boys, and I have a new respect for the players from all the countries that participated. This was playoff level baseball in March. What more could you ask for?!!

Surprised to not see anything posted here, but not really, the baseball chatter is kind of minimum over the years, especially when everyone is occupied drafting! Anybody else watch some of these beauty games?

I should clarify cause that Canadian brawl was CRAZY!!! (Honestly, in the last 20 years, the only crazier major league brawl I can think of is the Orioles/Yankees mid-late 90's that spilled into the dugouts, Graeme Lloyd, Armando Benitez, Darryl Strawberry & more?? ...)I'm more proud that they competed and stuck up for each other than anything!

Most proud of the way the Canadians played against the USA. It was one of those games where the sun and shadows were causing batting troubles all game. Another 2 innings of that, and I don't think the US would have rallied back for the win.

The US talent shined through in the end, but the talent gap seems to keep shrinking and I really like the Canadian chances in the next WBC. I also think the USA is going to recruit the best to put to rest any notion that they might not be a top 4 baseball nation. I'm already counting the days to the next tourney! I feel like Happy Gilmore counting down the days to hockey season hahah!...

It was definitely fun to watch. Some REALLY good baseball was played. The players took it very seriously. The games were intense. I enjoyed what I saw of it.

Huge problem in the US was the fact that the games were carried on the MLB network and most of us don't get that.

Advantage Canada, where almost every single game was shown on tv.

I am surprised that the behaviour of the Cubans against The Netherlands didn't receive more media attention. I loved Andruw Jones reaction to their snub.

As a baseball fan, I loved it. As a fantasy owner of Hanley Ramirez, not so much.

That sucks about the MLB network. It'd be worth doing a "one month trial" during the next WBC if possible. I missed a lot while working, but what I saw was great.

Didn't catch anything and can't find anything about Cuba/Netherlands? What'd I miss?

After The Netherlands beat Cuba in the round robin portion of the tournament, Cuban manager commented at the press conference “I don’t think they’re a very good team to be honest,”.

That in itself is pretty disrespectful, but maybe it was said to pump up his players and give them some confidence.

But when they met up again during the playoff round, Cuban manager Victor Mesa instructed the Cuban players to all turn their backs on The Netherlands during pre-game introductions.

Mesa is a poor manager, and from the bench he makes Ozzie Guillen look docile. The guy was yelling and screaming the entire time.

I will take all bets that he won't be managing Cuba in 2017!
