The Draft Rationales thread is now complete. Thanks to everyone for contributing.

I have not yet updated the league summary page for 2017. That should be ready by Monday.

Feel free to add your thoughts in the Draft recap thread if you haven't done so already.

The league summary page is now up. Split stats are not yet active, but I should have that ready in the next day or so.

I think the waiver order needs to be updated.

is it reverse order of draft pick selection order, as opposed to actual draft order?

if so, it's correct.

I'm not sure which happened first, perhaps they were simultaneous, but my first RBI of the season was either a Ryan Schimpf dong off Kershaw or a bases loaded walk by Joe Mauer! This bemuses me to no end. :)

Yonder Alonso was dropped this morning at 10:34 AM, then picked up by a different manager today at 1:25 PM. I'm wondering why he didn't have to clear waivers. Am I missing something?

[5] If he was picked up and dropped before he reached a lock period (before a game was played) he does not need to clear waivers again. I guess the reasoning is that someone could otherwise add and drop every player keeping other managers from grabbing someone

I guess the intention of the rule is good but I doubt we have to worry about that in this league. Thanks for the explanation.

[3] it is the reverse order of draft pick selection round

Looking for an elite SB threat. Other categories not that important. Position not that important either.

I could use a starting pitcher. If anyone has an offer or wants me to check their roster then give me a holler.

Six hits yesterday, five of them home runs. Not enough to move the needle, though...

With Kiermaier breaking his hip (is he 85 years old...?) this season has gone from very disappointing to dumpster fire.

Doubt it will make any difference, but pretty much my whole team is on the block, will want 2 for 1 or some such.

With Bumgarner's injury and the rest of my staff imploding, I need to trade for a very solid starting pitcher.

I'm also interested in middle infielders as my entire middle infield is suddenly seriously injured.

Send me balanced offers or send me an email.

Zen, I wasn't able to send a reply from the trade rejection. Anyway, you said that Sale is much better than Rizzo but I wanted to point out that Rizzo was drafted at 1.16, Sale at 2.16 or so, and Rizzo is raking.

Holt, that wasn't a particularly compelling argument. Rizzo is certainly "raking" in the promotion category, I see his handsome mug on many ESPN promos.

But for categories that matter, like OPS, he's the 10th ranked first baseman this year, 35th batter overall. In the ESPN player rater, he's the 8th ranked first baseman, 22nd overall batter, just about tied with Zack Cozart with a 7.39.

Chris Sale, on the other hand, is in a virtual tie with Clayton Kershaw and Max Sherzer as the very best pitcher with a 11.46, making him the sixth best player overall. That's better than "raking".

Sale might be better now ytd but in most leagues that started today people would pick Rizzo before Sale. Both are obviously very good and I would gladly take them both.

No biggie. I just meant that he kind of slumped earlier in the season but his numbers will be normal soon enough. His OPS has been the most consistent in the league over the past few years. Assuming no injuries for either of them for the rest of the year I'd rank them about evenly but pitchers are inherently a higher injury risk. That's why I considered offering Rizzo for Sale staight up but backed out after thinking about it a while.

I do really need to trade for a good pitcher if anyone wants to make a deal.

If anyone is looking for starting pitchers, I have a bunch of quality ones on the trading block (Robbie Ray, Severino, Gio Gonzalez, Cahill, and Rodon).

I'm looking for an offensive upgrade in return, with an focus on the counting stats.

I need to trade for a middle infielder or two due to injuries. I have some good outfielders available (or possibly a closer for the right offer).

I have saves available and could use a decent third baseman. Send me an offer or email if interested.

Guys, just an FYI, if I disappear from working my team (you know, to keep from coming in 16th)..., I live in Pt Charlotte, Florida, a town that's currently expected to see the eye of Irma and have evacuated away to Disney. While here I'll hopefully be online as Disney is on their own power grid so they're likely to be back up sooner than elsewhere if it goes down. That said, it's possible power will be gone for good at some time tomorrow. I'll be heading back to the west coast of the state on Tuesday and suspect I may have neither the access nor the time to manage by then, but if I'm able to access the team I'll welcome the escape.

I'm not even in this league yet and I want to congratulate mmikulka! Anyone who wins this league is a bad ass fantasy baseball manager.

Congrats mmikulka! Had been a foregone conclusion for awhile though. I think I got within a few points in September at one point but you had double digit lead for basically the last 2+ months. Nice job.

Congrats Mmikulka. You ran away with it. Thanks to Guru for everything. Great fun as always and looking forward to next season.

I don't want to complain too much as I finished 4th and feel pretty fortunate about that, but I want to point out that my team was loaded with power hitters and I really worked on slugging % all season long. I even got to ride the Hoskins wave. And yet I still finished 15th in SLG %. This league is hard.

Congratulations mmikulka! Not only did your endless flow of strikeouts led you to a firm victory, but the "streaming on steroids" strategy you suggested to me for the final week allowed me to avoid relegation in style.

I take pride that both owners I've encouraged to join RIBC have now won a title (mmikulka and Pablo's Peapods). On the other hand, I'm a little annoyed that they beat me to it despite my multiyear head start!

Looking forward to next year and the latest chance to break through!

More congrats to mmikulka. I can't believe I managed to stick around this year - some incredibly fortunate mad-streaming during August and September saved an otherwise bleak season.

as usual, a great league to compete in.
