Congrats to me, winner of the 2020 RIBC in a season that was unusual in so many respects.

A few post-season duties remain:

1. RIBC managers may post a recap of their season, if they wish. What worked well, what went wrong, what would you do differently the next time, and what did you learn?

2. I'd appreciate it if someone from each of the qualifying leagues would send me a link to their final standings. I'll post them in a separate thread. (If your team names do not easily identify the related team manager, please provide those linkages as well.)

Here is RIBC-AAA ESPN. Hopefully you can take the raw data and better present it. I also posted this in our group thread.

Congrats on your RIBC win Guru... you made your Hall of Fame!

Not sure if this is the right thread... but I think we may want to discuss dropping down the innings MAX going forward.

1350 for a 162 game season worked out to 500 for the 60 game season. Based on the short bench we have, and the fact that starters seem to go less innings than ever, it is getting harder to make this number without streaming.

It seemed like most of the RIBC leagues had half their managers streaming pitchers the last few weeks of the season just to catch up on IP to the max. Some of it becomes a race to the free agent pool each day, not really what our league is all about.

Some of this may be a factor of MLB teams having extra roster slots this season so they can pull pitchers earlier... But i still think it is harder than ever to make this number with our current settings.

I support anything that reduces the incentive to treat a full-season imaginary baseball team like a DFS team (and I say this as someone who almost led the RIBC in transactions this year and last). My suggestions:

Drop the innings cap some. I recognize that it involves some skill to both draft starters who don't get hurt and to go look at probable starters a few days ahead and pick up unrostered pitchers who are facing Detroit or Pittsburgh. And I see the 3 top finishers in RIBC didn't use the full 500 this season (I'm hesitant to make conclusions based on this incredible outlier of a year of baseball). But I'm with JeffG - changes in MLB have reduced the traditional innings load you used to get from starters.

Impose a transaction limit - it need not be crazy tight. Maybe 200 in a full 162-game season year?

Add a roster slot (or, even better, add two roster slots).

I'll have no complaints if nothing is changed, but these are ones I would support.

I wouldn't be opposed to a slight IP drop but would be opposed to anything that involves limiting transactions. Not really a big fan of adding roster slots either, definitely not more than one.

It took a monumental effort for me to reach 500 IP this season, and that's with having 6 to 7 SP's on my roster most of the year. Hard to even guess how many starts I had to stream to get there.

For some reason AAA Yahoo was set at 525 IP... even harder! I was streaming SP pretty much the entire season just to stay up with it. 118 of my IP were streamed. That's almost 2 starting pitcher's worth.

The AA standings posted in [8] are incorrect, as they don't properly reflect ERA and WHIP. Apparently, a minimum IP was erroneously setup that no team met. (Same thing happened in AAA-ESPN league.)

Here are the adjusted standings:

Doesn't speak well for the teams in that league that no one seems to have noticed.
