Welcome to our new managers, Larry, Jason (returning) and Zack. While one of our vacated franchises was a juggernaut, the other two had their share of building to do. We want all three managers to have the chance to put their imprint on their franchises from Day 1. As such, we will have a draft for these managers from the rosters of the departed teams.
-- A random lottery will be held, conducted by Guru, to determine who has the first pick, second pick and third pick. -- The draft will snake. -- The current rules indicate that draft picks will be distributed evenly. That process became a disaster, so: -----The team with the 3rd pick in the Expansion Draft will receive the picks of Vampire Weekend -----The team with the 2nd pick will receive the picks of Bobo -----The team with the 1st pick will receive the picks of Lyman (labeled 'Vacated Team')
Timing of Draft: Considering that pre-season trading is paused until the managers have this draft, I am proposing that we start the Expansion Draft on Friday February 10th. Considering the bevy of Dynasty League rankings published for consumption, it is my hope that the new managers can manage.
I am open to hearing concerns from the new managers and will reach out to discuss.
Major leaguers vs. Prospects: The Expansion Draft includes players both on existing Yahoo rosters and those on our Prospect List at the same time. There is no separate prospect draft for this purpose. If you think Andrew Painter is more valuable long-term than Jordan Montgomery or Joe Ryan, TAKE HIM ahead of those players in the Expansion Draft. Players already on the Prospect List will remain there at the end of the Draft.
Every player will be taken: Nobody may give a crap about Bailey Falter (for example), but he will be drafted. That will leave plenty of fodder to be cut once we get to our 9 main keepers.
Draft will be held in this thread: Old fashioned, but easy for everyone to follow and also creates a nice record for posterity.

Jason - tough break I suppose, but keep in mind that your #3 position also comes with the draft picks of Vampire Weekend, which includes Prospect Pick 1.02. If prospects aren't your thing, there should be no shortage of managers willing to trade for that pick, including myself!
I will update the draft grids very soon.
