Congrats, you probably also have the YTD most votes, thanks to all those second places. For your HTML problem. (For all of the below pretend the [ are < and ] are >, since I can't use < and > here or it will become HTML.) Here is the problem. If you code

data
more data

data
more data

this message board adds a [br] at the end of each line, but as coded above the breaks are not in with any table data area and become breaks before the table, so it looks like:

data more data
data more data

The solution is to do it this way:

data
more data

data
more data

this puts all the breaks inside columns, and the essentially are ignored, giving this:
data
more data
data
more data

ok i will hve to try that, but I pull it straight out of excell so it is tough to edit it within the text box, but I will do so anyhow, thanks again...

congratulations on your week in the sun Madman. Just about all the strategy I know came from your brain last year when this board first came on line--before you got fed up with the SW F-Ups.

Really, really glad to have you back. And the pitcher/park breakdowns were extraordinary.

congrats to Matt G on your vote total!!! That chat room must be one hot place.

Congrats, Matt G. Big party in the chatroom tonight! Virtual beer's on Matt, and everybody gets one free swear word!

And I think we ought to break our rules and re-elect Madman as soon as possible. Having him go his Guru Jr commentator role is too great an advantage to pass up!

Matt G -- I do my tables straight from Excel, as well. I have one table that is "normal". Let's say I have data in Cell A1.

Then, to it's right, I have an "HTML" table that looks something like this (simplified):

cell d1 = "
cell d2 ="
[th]" & A1
cell d3 ="[/th]

"

Then its a simple matter of copy/paste and careful filling right and down to flesh out the rest of the table. I then just copy/paste that into the little text box here and post. I think it is very efficient, but I'm always open to better ways of doing things.

Just for interest's sake, I also set everything up so that the cell background colors I choose refer to a "color lookup" table, and are indirectly referenced in a similar manner (although more intricate) to what I just described regarding how you can reference a table in Cell A1. That way I can type "purple" or "green" for a column and instantly change the table. Or, I can type something else in Cell A1, and have it change the HTML output.

Doing that number formatting thing like this is kind of wild. I didn't know you could do that (style = vb.excelformat. . .whatever).

pilewort -- thanks for the compliment. I hope those strategy tips (whatever they were) are working!

PS - Madman - thanks for the Excel examples and tips, I learn something everytime I look at one of your spreadsheets. Keep them coming.

To bring them over you need to save them as html, bring up the source in netscape and just cut and past that is how I have always done it...

Hey, this is just a little "project" I have been working on, didn't take very long. I went through and tallied all the Guru Jr. Votings I could find on the BaseBall threads. Then I put them into excell I thought it would be a cool thing to keep recorded. Let me know what you guys think. I won't post it here cause it is big, and I am having problems posting excel results as seen above. here is the html
Guru JR. voting.

Good job Matt G.

I feel pretty silly that Strike One got more votes than me--even though I wasn't here ;)
