Subject: All Hail the Next Guru, Jr.

In the closest race in Guru, Jr. history, KKB and RSF were the definition of a dead heat. The final official tally? KKB= 19, RSF = 19. Don't believe me? Check here. What to do, what to do? ___________________________________
In the great American tradition, I'm going to arbitrarily ignore the vote counts, and go with my Gut. . . .
The new Guru, Jr. is . . . . . KKB! ___________________________________
Because of the intensity of the voting, I feel I must explain my decision.
First, let me say that both RSF and KKB have done some exceptionally good work for this forum. But I went with KKB for the following reasons (in order of priority):
1) RSF was a winner in 2000. To my knowledge, KKB wasn't. 2) KKB produced two games this year, and he hasn't received official prior recognition for either. RSF has done some awesome things, as well, but he has indeed gotten (deserving) praise for them in the past. I'm sure he will again in the future. 3) I made an arbitrary calculation that KKB's contributions must have taken him a bunch of time and work. 4) In case SW goes under, KKB's contributions are two of our remaining hopes.
So, with all that said, this is a position that I hope no future Guru, Jr. will be in -- having to break a virtual tie. However, the rules state that I get to choose the next awardee based upon the nominations given. There was no restriction placed upon me to exactly follow any given vote total, even though the majority of valid vote counts (note in the great Florida tradition, I'm talking about the majority of COUNTS, not necessarily the majority of votes :) ) might have placed RSF in the lead by .5 or 1 vote, depending on how you count the split votes.
Future Guru Jr.'s might want to clarify whether they will accept split votes . . . For them, I would request a 1 person 1 vote honor system. It just makes it hard to count, if for no other reason. . . At least we should do this until we get optical scanning equipment :).
ALL HAIL KKB, THE NEW GURU JR.!

Well deserved, KKB. You rule.
There's always next week, RSF. And while I voted for RSF, I think Madman handled his duties as well as he could have. Your above points won me over, at least.

Wow, I'm getting all teary eyed and everything. ;) Thanks to everyone who voted and even those that didn't. Without the rest of the forums support, input, testing, and most importantly participation, MadBall and Pick'ems never would have happened. I just did the "dirty work". ;) Anyhow, I will wear my title proudly and will do my best to uphold the characteristics expected of me. Thanks again to everyone! p.s. - Madman, I don't recall winning last year as I didn't even find Rotoguru.com until around the ASB last year.

Who am I to argue with that?
