The sun is setting on my reign as Guru Jr. It has been an eventful one, almost too eventful. Anyway...
We have many worthy candidates left to honor. A brief recap would include;
Richard. Obvious reasons (preseason who-owns-what, in-season who-is-being-bought/sold, various pricing models) and not so obvious (the originator of the SWP generator [hey, wheres the update anyway :-)]).
J. How many times have you looked at the standings threads and Movers-and-Shaker? Enough said.
philflyboy. See J. Thanks to both guys.
The Pink Pimp. Pretty quiet lately (Mardi Gras hangover???) but still a presence. The preseason "Pulling it all together" thread was quite helpful.
Cashmere. The who-owns-what thread keeps on expanding.
Going off the baseball boards a little, but would like to add Dr. Doom. Go to the Golf Forum to see what I mean. I don't even play that game, but I enjoy seeing what he puts out.
I'm sure there are others, and I don't mean to slight anyone. _____________________________________________
To recap the criteria, the next Guru Jr. must:
Show signs of Guru-like tendencies, which include, but aren't limited to: statistical support, answering questions, and just being all-around good for the prosperity of this forum. The nominee can also show a sense of humor that makes this forum more enjoyable during hard times.
The winner gets the nametag for the week and the honor of choosing the Guru Jr. the following week based on nominations.
The previous Guru Jr. winners for this year have been:
philliephan, Madman, KrazyKoalaBears and myself.
So, let the voting begin! _____________________________________________
Polls will close at noon PST (or there abouts) on Thursday, May 24.

Started the thread a little early because my home access is flaking out on me right now (the Guru Jr curse?) so I thought I'd do it when I know I have access.
Also forgot my vote: Richard. I wonder if his cat is going to vote for him this week?

Anyways, please don't vote for me this week, as I'll be gone all week and unable to wear my crown!!!!
So, anyone who already voted for me, feel free to change. I do appreciate the votes!!!!!

Obviously it's early and since I haven't participated in many elections, I don't know much about the Guru jr voting history. But I wonder if voting stats have been kept, as this has the makings of a considerable landslide.

Don't play baseball, but Richard certainly contributes to all the boards.
To see Dr. Doom in action check out these golf board links: golfers (next week's tournament) and top 100++ standings . Try the sorts and also click on the team name (top 100++) or the golfer (next week's tournament) to see added features. He does a GREAT job every week!!!!

Richard can be Guru Jr next week. He's gonna be one sooner or later with all the good things he's done. But this week, the hero is FBeyond for correctly forcasting the Klesko train before it took off. This kind of stuff has timing, so I vote for FBeyond. I'll vote for Richard later.

i nominate Left Wings for courageously standing up to a horde of misguided gurupies in the recent "pedro--->>" and "Brandy anyone" threads. he held his ground in the face of a torrent of graphs and charts that threatened to overwhelm reason.
right or wrong, you have to admire that kind of chutzpah.
