Subject: Averages for Opposing Starters

As I mentioned in today's blurb, I've accumulated point data for the opposing starters of each team. For example, the Starters vs. Montreal represents the points for the actual starting pitcher for each game vs. Montreal.
There is now a "Starters vs." player page for each team, and also a position option in the sartibles for Opposing Starters. I'm not yet sure how useful this will be, but it is interesting to see the variation from team to team, and from period to period.
I've got some more analysis to do on this, but for now, you can see this data yourself.
I'm also thinking about adding the name of the opposing starter for each game on the "player" page, but I don't have that data organized yet.
Just one more piece of information that you won't be likely to find anywhere else... |

Guru, why can't you run smallworld? Tell me where to send the letter of recomendation?
I do have 1 question maybe you or somebody else could answer for me. I created a second team a while back and havent looked at it a long time. I thought about it the other day but realized i can't remember the seperate ID I created. I know I can reclaim my password, but I need my User ID for that. So I am asking if thier is anyway i can find out the ID i signed up with. I figure its impossible but i thought this might be the best place to ask. Thanks in Advance.

Wow, so, over the last 7 days, Houston's had the 2nd worst offense (SWP-wise).
Right?
Well, while the starting pitcher remains in the game anyways.
Sweet info Guru, thanks!!!!

Interesting data Guru. Looking at Atlanta, overall starters are ranked #5 against them, however over the last 15 days starters are ranked #24. StL overall is very good against starters, but in the last 15 days starters are ranked #6 against them. For the Cards the data definitely fits. Cards were good early but bats are very quiet lately and they aren't winning. I can only guess the Braves are turning things around and starting to hit now together with more wins. Very useful info. Thanks for sharing.

Sweet! More statistics!
Just looking at the page that comes up to start, you can tell that the NL is more of a pitchers league. Only two of the bottom 8 (Col and ChiC) are NL teams.
Interesting... Matt S

You must have read my mind. I have been thinking, it would be nice to know team hitting statistics for opposing pitchers - similar to opposing team defense in football. This is great. Thank you so much!

Good stuff. If trends continue, I wouldn't want to pitching for either team in Coors today (6/14).

I just added the names of the opposing starter next to each game. This should help you assess the quality of the pitching opponents.

This is great info. I've been doing the same type of research manually, but it takes a damn good amount of time. Thanks for the resources.

FYI Guru, I've tried to get SF several times today and it doesn't "compute".
This is a great addition, IMHO. Thank You.
