110K back now. I'm slicing what looks to be insignificant chunks off the lead. I kept pace today. I still need to lose on average more than 50K/day and the leaders only lose 30K to win.
Problem is that I will have to get a gravity player tomorrow which will only be 30K and then I will have to lose at least 60K/day to have a chance. I will also have to time it perfectly on the last day to hope that my player will lose it all--not likely.
jb, if you'd have kept your 10K lead and held Escobar today, you'd be 30K ahead--provided that Guru didn't get Escobar as well to try and keep up or overtake you. Then you could use Vaughn for 3 days at most. In meantime, there could be a pitcher you could jump on for one day. At worst you would have had one day of no losses and jumped back on Benson and tied. But who knows how it'll turn out. I hope it's with a bang and not just with gravity the last 5 days. On the otherhand, if it is gravity, we all know what day that will end and can plan accordingly.

Ref if your strategy was to work, that pitcher you said I could jump on would have to lose 60K (30K more than gravity). I'm willing to bet that no pitcher under $650K will lose 60K in a day for the next couple of days -- actually I DID bet on that with the strategy that I chose.
And I also did not see Escobar losing 50K -- I figured 40 at the most -- and then where would I have been?
Keep in mind that the strategy changes down here -- it's not about how much you lose in a day, but how quickly you can get to 500K.

jb, I agree with that last part. But I would have waited to do what you did until the last 3 days or so. I would have tried to exhaust all options--but hey--you didn't get where you are from not knowing strategy! Good job to both you and Guru! Great game!

As for my own strategy, Recent trends suggest that Lidle will drop at least 40K today, but I'm betting it's only 20K so I'm going to play it safe. Not that it matters much, but if he'd had a negative outing--I would have gambled.
