That's good news and I'm sincerely glad to hear it, but nevertheless the talk about skipping people has come up in drafts that are moving much more swiftly than ours. Early afternoon to about midnight Eastern appears to be the optimum time for most people in this draft to make themselves available. If we can't be courteous enough to let everyone know when we won't be around for extended periods during that daily time frame (at least during the week) then we should sacrifice our turn - at least until we get around to logging on again. Opinions?

We could do skipping...but make sure it is an extended time period. Not sure of the parameters, though.
But the queues should work....if you want to go out and have a beer, then leave a queue.

totally agree with ya MITH, but to do something like that we would need some ground rules.... like something to the effect of.... u should be able to miss once for an extended period of time and not be skipped, and u would be excused if u told someone that you wouldnt be around till a certain time... or if you had an emergency.... and make a time frame that you are allowed to miss (like 1am-5pm).... but whatever the rest of you guys think is fine by me.... thank god we are doing this way ahead and are not strapped for time, or things would probably get ugly

4 hours with no notice was suggested on another thread. That sounds reasonable to me. If we've waited 4 total hours between, say 2pm and midnight Eastern, and no one's heard from you, you are skipped and can make up your turn when you post again. Just say you won't be around during a specified time and you're in the clear, once your specified time expires you're on the clock again. Too harsh?

You know where I stand...If we can't do at least 2 rounds a day then we're moving too slow. Leave a list if you know you will be gone for more than a few hours.

Nope, I think 4 hours is good MITH. We do need to use these threads more to discuss where we are, I feel that's important. It's not cluttering b/c we start a new one every two rounds.
Mid afternoon until around midnight, altough you can pick at anytime of the day.

I've got some friends over so I'm done here for the night, but hopefully all or most agree and we can agree to some rules regarding this. Btw, I don't mean to single out wiggs whom I know had a recent emergency to attend to. Hope everything's okay there.

I made my 11th round pick Saturday 2:30 pm, and my 12th at 12:30 pm today. That is 70 hours between rounds, and 10 and a half hours since the last pick (me). I agree with the group.

I, as well, hope everything is ok in the wiggs household. As far as the draft is concerned, I'm very disappointed in our current pace as well. About half of the league is around all day refreshing the page every five minutes and the other half is out to lunch. It would be nice to get everyone here tommorow night, let's say, and pound out 4 or 5 rounds. In the meantime, for god's sake, leave a queue. I don't feel as if we should have to resort to skipping. Just make an effort to keep it moving guys.

as for skipping picks, i think that there are extremes. For example not picking in 12 hours is alittle much. If there is an emergency that is one thing, but just because, or because you dont leave a queue, that is ridiculous. I admit when i heard my bro was in an accident the last thing on my mind was oh let me leave a queue. But when i got home first thing i did was get on here to help it along. Thats my thoughts. peace

Besides a queue, how about letting everyone know if you have limited access???? I really don't mean to single anyone out, but it would really be helpful if we knew what certian people's schedules are like so that the rest of us can check in accordingly. Those of you who have kept us waiting for extended periods know who you are. Eleven picks all day Monday followed by nine picks all day Tuesday. I don't think we'll finish in time for opening day at this pace.
Fosten, IMO, if one person disagrees strongly enough with the turn skipping idea, then that should be enough to squash it since it wasn't a stated rule from the start of the draft. I don't want to p!$$ anyone off, but counting on people to do the right thng and stay on top of the draft clearly hasn't been working, so I'd hope you reconsider.
I'd like to hear from everyone.

Truthfully, I don't like the turn skipping idea. I know if I got my turn skipped...I'd be so p!$$ed off that I would quit. What if your intended guy, got stolen that way. I know last night I said I was fine with the skipping idea, but I think I've changed my mind. We can do this thing! Use e-mail, AIM, and the chatroom.
If you can't be there from the premium times, then just leave a queue.

Then that would settle it, no turn skipping penalty. The absolute last thing we'd want would be for people to start quitting on us mid-draft. That said, some of us really need to be a lot more courteous by leaving queues and letting the rest know when they won't be around during premium times.
