fosten, i agree, this is terrible. by the time i pick i am looking at about 60 + hours between picks. I think i am done giving up on doing things to sit around this computer and get no where. I will just pick when i get a chance. I am always sitting here refreshing the page hoping i will get to pick and it just isnt worth it.

Now, all of us who are still up (most of the league), have to wait til tommorow to get moving again. Eh picks 20 minutes after CC goes to bed, and we're stuck again. Now see why this is so frustrating? No reason you can't leave a 2 round queue with someone who's on the opposite side of the snake each night before you turn in. Ridiculous. BE COURTEOUS, LEAVE A QUEUE - if CC doesn't sign on until 7 am, that'll be 7 picks in 24 hours. if you're in the middle of the draft, you've got to plan your whole day around being here to make your pick. if it takes 10 hours to go through 2 picks, you've made the third guy sit at his puter all day hitting the refresh button. i think it'd be alot easier on everyone's schedules if we could just commit to do five rounds a day for the next 2 days and being almost done. otherwise, at this pace, we're in for another 2 weeks of refreshing the page. and just think, it usually slows down at the end! - BE COURTEOUS, LEAVE A QUEUE

It is seriously getting to the point where my g/f is starting to get pissed off on the weekends because I am refreshing the damn webpage instead of spending time with her. Fosten, stick it you know where. I've been here for hours on end waiting for one guy to pick then wait hours on end for the next guy to pick totaling more hours than I care to think about. I don't think 8 hours wait is going to make a dent in the time I've already been staring at an empty thread. So CHILL OUT!!!
I'm not the one holding up the draft. I have been leaving a list for times that are longer than a few hours. I think being around from 7 AM until 11 PM and making no, zero, nada picks takes precedence over sleeping for 8 hours.

It was 11:40 est when EH finally picked. Code Cracker wanting to go to sleep is perfectly understandable. But please, after considerable dialogue about whether to start skipping people and numerous requests for courtesy regarding this, we have a 5 hour wait through prime hours followed by an all night wait because someone didn't leave a queue when he was going to bed. IMO, this draft is doomed. Some say they will give up if we institute a skipping penalty to move things along, others are ready to quit if the pace doesn't pick up and other people refuse to comply with simple courtesy. You know who you are. Meanwhile, my girlfriend's patience is wearing thin.
We're entering a portion of the order that has been pretty good about making timely picks, so if your turn comes up in the next 7 or 8 picks and you're here now but might not be around over the next few hours PLEASE, FOR THE LOVE OF ALL THINGS GOOD AND HOLY LEAVE A QUEUE!!

ok, here's something I didn't forsee. wiggs left me a queue last night, which he expected me to use between about 5 and 11pm last night. His player wasn't picked. He was up past 01:14est (post 40) and it's before 09:00 now. Should I post his pick? Are Rabid and BMD around? If not I guess i doesn't matter.

I find it funny that EVERY SINGLE slow draft that I've been in has the exact same comments in it. I have never been in a slow draft that hasn't had major delay after major delay.
My solution, if you are extremley impatient then next year skip slow live drafts. I've learned to live with the idea that not everyone shares the same views about picking in a timely manner and since there is a 24 hour time limit they are well withing their rights.
VERY IMPORTANT POINT
If you are blowing off your girlfriend because you can't leave your monitor due to the fact that someone might pick putting you on the clock for a few hours I suggest that you quit the league now and drop about 30 roses at her door IMMEDIATLEY. Once the season is over (and most likely half way through for some) there will be many people in this league that you never talk to again. Unless you want the same treatment from your girlfriend, pull yourself away from the monitor and take her out! The season is a long way away and even if you pick on time someone else is just going to hold it up. Don't fight it, except it! Slow live drafts are just that SLOW so live your life accordingly and I guarantee that we will get the draft down about 2 weeks before the first pitch is thrown.
Now that that is said. I will be here tonight at 10:30 PM EST after my second exam. Let's try to get everyone here around that time (unless you have plans with your girlfriend or work...please no calling in sick). All we need to do is rattle off a few quick rounds and we'll be back on track.

Sorry buddy, I'm out the door in 5 minutes and my pick is 16 spots away. There is no possible way I can make a queue without a fair bit of research and unfortunatley after staying up til 4 AM the last 2 nights studying I have neither the time nor the energy to do so. I have a break between my exams and should be able to pick around 3 PM and possible make a queue if I feel I have time to spare. Sorry in advance if it gets to me, but I doubt it will.

Type the guys last name that you want to pick into the box and click the Find Next button to see if someone has already picked this guy. That will save everyone time in case he is already gone.

Since there are some of us who are around during the day the night guys could also leave a list with the daytime guys. That way we can cover more ground. It's frustrating seeing only 5-10 picks made during the day...

I'm sending a large queue to wiggs tonight....
On another note, eveything seems to be falling into place for me....I told my brother I was coming home last night, so I just got a call and he's already set up a tee time for tommorrow morning. He's taking off school tommorrow, and one of my best friends from HS also decided to come home from another school, so we can have a nice little match tommorrow morning. He has already made arrangements so for Fri. and Sat. nights for me, so I won't be around much at all with the 56K modem and all.
