Ed- Are you trading a 1st, 2nd and 3rd round pick for Halladay, Wells and Thome and then not keeping any of them?

Each person fill in your name as your turn comes up to pick, and repost the edited draft order below(its blank right now...) Remember, its a snake, so we don't need to make this a waste of time by picking 1 then 2 then 3 all the way to 12 . PheonixV is up.

Ed,

I emailed you about this too because I don't know who the cross off on my player list. Take a look at Post #4.

You declare Mauer, Cuddyer, Yound, Zambrano, and Arroyo.

Then you mention you've traded for Thome, Wells, and Halladay. So it just seemed kind of odd that first you mentioned your keepers and then the guys you traded for.

Anyway, I think if you reposted your 5 keepers it'd help clarify everything for us.

Take care Ed.

I guess you're not on the same page as the rest of us, Ed. The idea is that you can only keep 5 MLB players, so if you pull off a lot of trades before the deadline, you need to keep the players you traded for. Since you obviously wasn't aware of this, it's all right if you want to cancel the deal with me. Of course, if you still want to do it, I'm not complaining. :)

As for my draft order pick, I have to pick Manny if he's available (can't help it):

I traded my draft picks for these players. On my 1st draft pick, Mikkel will get my 1st pick and I will get Mikkel's R Halladay. with my 2nd pick, Wiggs will get my second pick and I will get Wells and etc.

I still have my 5 keepers which have nothing to do with draft selections!

Re 13 and 14:

I don't mind either. But it seems kind of odd that you would trade for Wells and Thome and still keep Arroyo for example. Since there are only 5 keepers Ed, that means you've traded your draft picks for 3 guys you don't intend to keep. In other words, Wells Thome and Halladay have to be 1 of yur 5 keepers.

Mikkel and Wiggs, I believe I traded you a draft pick in return for those nopted players. You should be keeping them on your keeper rosters and whern the 1st round comes, I get Hallaway and you get to pick my on my pick therefore Mikkel will get 2 #1 picks and I get Hallaway from his roster. In turn, Wiggs get my 2nd draft pick - therefore he get 2 #2 picks and I get Wells and etc. I didn't trade any of my keepers. Period!

no, ed you did trade for your keepers, if you wanted to trade for draft picks you would have needed to do it after the draft was started and you would have needed to trade for other peoples keepers. Otherwise why wouldnt everyone want to trade for extra keepers? The way you are showing it you are getting roy halladay as your 1st round pick, Wells as your 2nd and Thome as your 3rd then getting additional picks from me at pick 10 and 11. That doesnt make any sense, why wouldnt everyone do these trades?

That was the deal as I understood it. Why would I have needed to wait until after the draft began? I would think we could negotiate at any time. And I did trade for your keepers. You are suppose to declare Wells and Thome as your keepers and then on the draft picks, I get them and you get my 2 and 3 draft picks. The purpose of doing that is so you get better draft selections and I get certain players. I didn't trade you my keepers - I traded you my draft picks! Sorry but thats what I understood.

Ed, you are being ridiculous, you just have to read the thread to see that i posted my keepers and said I was going to trade the other guys for picks. It makes no sense for me to trade you Wells and Thome for your 2nd and 3rd pick if they were my keepers, who am I going to get out of the draft that equals either of them? Then your trade with Mikkel, there is definately not going to be a top 5 pitcher available. You traded for keepers and gave up picks, that is why you are getting picks in return, otherwise you would have 3 extra picks as well.

Alright at least we're begining to clarify things up lol.

Perhaps Ed misunderstood. But to clarify, if Ed traded his draft picks for Wells and Thome, the players would instantly go to your roster. So Ed, you can't trade a pick for a guy, and have the other manager stash him. If you gave Wiggs your 2nd and 3rd rounder, he'd give you Wells and Thome right away. So he can draft, and you can reshuffle your keepers.

It's kind of a strange situation, and not to get into anyone's business, but I'd be fine with letting Ed and Wiggs and Phoenix redo these deals.

I just want to know who to cross off my player list lol.

Good luck guys.

Then these deals don't make any sense. Why would I give up top draft picks for comparable players to my keepers and then go drafting in the lower rounds? That makes no sense at all to me. That way I only get average players at those lower rounds while these other guys get their keepers plus, 2 first, second and 3rd round picks? Nope that makes no sense to me, sorry. You guys traded for my early round pick and if you didn't, there is no deal. I have excellent keepers, why would I give all of that up for lower round players. Sorry but no.

Ed: The reason you would do the deal with me is that you would be guaranteed an ace pitcher in Halladay. That way you wouldn't have to be worried about other owners taking him just before you in the first round of the draft.

Anyway, I agree with oasiserfede, let's just cancel the two trades. Man, this is going to screw up my overall team age completely! Can we make this a one-year league? (just kidding) :)

Guys, I would call the trades off, and let Ed post his five keepers from his roster prior to the trade. It is obvious that both parties were thinking totally different concepts--therefore Andrew I would encourage you as league commish to void the trades. I believe this will allow all parties to be satisfied, and the spirit of the league to remain in tact.

NO WAY, if ed didnt understand he needs to ask questions. The trades were done fair and square, he asked me questions and I explained them. Did he think we were stupid or something? There is no reason to make these trades if I am giving up 2 top players to get overal picks of 75 and 87 or whatever they are and Mikkel would give up a top 20 guy to get pick 65, that makes no sense. If these trades are void i am out.

No but you would have me lose 2 and 3rd pick to get some 10th rounder or 75 or 87 as you put it for what? Those keepers are no better than the ones I have. So I lose 3 rounds of picking good players to get average players - that was not the deal sorry Wiggs. I dealt you draft picks for a keeper. And you can yourself stupid, but you speak for yourself.

Come on guys - this is hardly something to get so worked up about. I'm sure Andrew will allow a couple of extra days for this thing to get sorted out.

Ed, if you don't want to do any trades using the trading routine that everyone else thought was implied, just say it, and then we can simply cancel the deals altogether.

Wiggs, if you want to alter your keeper list to make room for Thome or Wells, that would be quite all right with me.

After all, this is only fantasy baseball... What am I saying? I can't finish that sentence! :)

Wow. I missed a lot being out all day. I have to reread everything a couple times and think this all through, but if you guys can renegotiate these deals ASAP that would obviously be the best solution. My initial reaction is that its not PheonixV or Wiggs fault that Ed didn't understand the rules while he was trading with them, so I am inclined to either let the trades stand or even give a couple more days for more trades to be worked out. At the same time, I wonder if its in the best interest of the league to just let these deals go through screwing over one manager royaly when its the first offseason for our league, so Ed's questions had never been addressed before. In the mean time, Wiggs and PheonixV, if you can work out other deals or don't mind canceling the deals I implore you to consider it.

Ok - I didn't understand and I saw something completely different - but that is the honest truth. I did believe I was trading for a draft pick - I wouldn't have done it otherwise.

I have already tried to think of a compromise. I either take a 3 player loss in the 1st 3 rounds or not. That would guarantee me last place this year with a subpar lineup. That was not my understanding going into these deals. I believed I was getting these players in return for the draft picks. These three picks are not worth missing the 1st three rounds sorry.

I am not like Wiggs tho. This is the 2nd time I have hear him cry that he was quitting over something he didn't like. I am not going to cry and threaten to quit. I'll play the last place and move on - It's only a freaken game! I won't cry about it but I wouldn't be happy either. Thats how I see it. If you have any suggestions, I am willing to listen. But really whatever - Its just a freaken game.

I will try to compromise. So I propose this:
Wiggs, I will eat one player and you eat one player. I will eat Wells and my 2nd pick for your 8th pick.

Mikkel, I propose Halladay for my 1st and your 7th?

That will be my proposal.

Wiggs,

Please take what I say as a fellow manager in a league, and not as someone trying to intervene in anyone's business.

You are perfectly justified in being upset. As it seems here, you and Ed agreed to a trade that turned out to mean two very different things. I am sorry this has occured to you; this is by no means your fault, because as you can see, even from my earliest posts in both forums, I assumed what everyone assumed, which what you assumed....2 guys goin to Ed for picks. You are not at all to blame.

However if you review the forums, I also think Ed is very honest (though it comes off as foolish) to assume what he did. His responses are consistent and what he says sounds the same until he gets corrected.

Now Wiggs, you have made a decision...and that decision was to trade Wells and your picks for Eds picks. The problem was you assumed (what the general consensus of all fantasy managers would) that you would be getting draft picks and sending guys off your roster, while Ed assumed something that is relatively bizarre. What do we do now?

Wiggs I hope cooler heads will prevail and you won't end up leaving our league. I personally have a great deal of respect for you and know you have been a patron of the boards for quite a while. While you are by no means obliged to and really can stick to your logical rationale that what you did is what 99.9% of fantasy managers would have assumed, I encourage you and Ed to try and strike out a deal. I don't know if it means much but Ed has placed an offer from what I see on the table, to try to solve the conflict.

Again, I hope that you guys can work things out. It'd be a shame to lose a manager right now and it sucks that we have to go through all this drama in our first off-season.

Give it some thought everyone. Perhaps there is a way out of this.

Those are my 2 cents. I'll just watch from here on out. Best of luck to you all.

Consider my deal with Ed cancelled, if no-one objects. I'm not letting this misunderstanding get in the way of a whole season of fantasy baseball.

But bear in mind that I'm going to use this as an excuse if my team fails miserably (which is not happening)! :)

I've been trying to stay out of it for the exact same reasons mentioned earlier. There was a huge blow up over this type of thing in another league I'm in (was in) yesterday. As one of the newest members invited to join your league, I honestly don't feel it's my decision to make, which is why I haven't voiced my feelings - you earn the right to speak up about these things by being a member of the league as you gain seniority. It is a shitty spot for Andrew to be in, but I'll have no problem deferring to his (or the rest of the league's) decision - whatever that is - and will support it...the biggest problem is that people seem to be missing the whole point of leagues like this - we all enjoy the competition, but when it becomes serious and personal, it's simply no fun for anyone, and really not worth our time if we dread doing it or dislike others in the league.

On another, more confusing note: Ed and I have agreed to do our previously mentioned deal anyway, using the trading concept which I originally envisioned.

So Ed gets Halladay and my 9th pick in the draft.
I get Ed's 1st pick in the draft.

Ed will have to change his keeper list in order to make room for Halladay. If someone finds this objectionable, you're in every right to speak up about it!

Wow...this has got to be your guys' first year with dealing with keepers.

From an outside look, semi-familiar with keepers and pre-keeper trades, Ed is definitely off in his thinking (although I can understand what he was thinking) and wiggs is a whiny beotch (see post 31). If you threaten to quit over a misunderstanding I say "don't let the door hit you on the ass on the way out".

Who is the commish? If its me the only way I see to get this straightened out is Kenesaw Mountain Landis style:

1. Cancel all related deals.
2. Rework any new deals if the involved parties want to.
3. Ed redeclare his keepers.

Thats my unwanted 2 cents.

You are right, it should read "comes off as a", not "is a"...

But, absolutely. If the someone is unfamiliar with the rules and does something boneheaded (and I do think this was boneheaded), you put aside what is best for you and do what is best for the league. And in this case, its what I said in post 58.

Is this the first year for keepers?

Hmmm! It’s been a rough year for me in keeper leagues. Had one where manager was voted off, another one where 2 manager left, one that folded after 9 years, also joined 2 leagues where the managers have left over hard feelings. The reason I joined RotoGuru leagues was I wanted to get away from Yahoo bush leagues where they are backdoor deals, 1 owner 2 teams, quitting half way though and other total BS. Vetos seem to hurt peoples feeling so I try and stay away from voting. Sure it great to trade and help your team move up but at times you can also hurt the leagues balance by some very unequal deals. I think trades should help both teams. Sure you can take some wild chances. Misunderstandings happen a lot when there’s not a lot of commutation on why deals are done. Well I off to work. Should be back by 1030 2nite. Hope this all works out.

RFS,
I have played in numerous keeper leagues and every one i have ever played in has done it this way. I have agreed to a compromise and in return i was told "f off" that is when i said I would leave. I dont like to play with people that make mistakes and wont admit to it. Either way, I think i have played in enough leagues to have a good enough rep on these boards not to be called a beotch.

Basically, the plan suggested by RFS in post 58 is exactly what I've been trying to do. After many e-mails have been sent back in forth I think it is hopeless to try and get a compromise worked out at this point. After finding the general consensus of the league it seems that the deals have to be canceled, but many wouldn't mind seeing Ed pay up some sort of compensation to Wiggs. The deals can't go through. Its just not in the best interest of the league for one team to hand over a 2nd and 3rd round pick to another team in exchange for nothing because of a miscommunication. I'm willing to open up trading for a few more days if anyone wants to make an offer to Wiggs for one of his players, but I think thats the best I can do.

Ed just sent me an e-mail resigning from the league. Wiggs has said he would resign if the ruling were what it is. I truly hope both of them change their mind, and that we can all just try to have fun with this. If not, well unfortunately we will have to move on from there... Nobody was out to screw over anybody, and we are all in this league together to have a good time; I think we can still do that.

Re 65: Still, that would really mess up the keepers. Either Wiggs' and Ed's keepers should go into the draft pool - which makes it impossible for expansion teams to get anything of worth next year - or players like Santana and Mauer "sit out" the year, which really damages strategic decision-making and kills the excitement.

But maybe it is the only solution left.

First wiggs has not said that he is quiting, so we are short only 1 manager.

If he does then yes the keepers both prospects and MLB should be left on the sideline for this year, because the draft order would need to be reset--I would pick third knowing I had a chance at 4-5 quality guys (Santana, Oswalt, Mauer...). I say this since the draft order was determined before these guys left.

Ed has decided to resign from the league. The 2 deals he made are void.

We have 2 options as I see it.

1) We find a new manager ASAP, who unfortunately wouldn't really be able to do much except declare keepers.

2) Have Cuddyer, Mauer, Arroyo, Zambrano and Young just sit the year out and procede with 11 managers.

To me its just whether we can find a manager or not.

Well, it's not like Phoenix and Golf Freak as new managers taking over old teams, could do anything else but pick keepers (well draft picks too, but one could easily argue they would have taken the best available slots anyway...they did go 1 and 2 respectively).

It a shame Ed's gone (no chance he could return?), but we should find a new manager. Having guys sit out just messes the balance of everything up. Easier said than done I know but I say we wait until we can get an additional member.

OK. I have one interested manager, and although it is not going to be neccessarily convenient, I think its feasible and probably our best chance. He cannot reach the rotoguru message boards from work, and thus can't make any picks for himself during those hours. He can however, e-mail his draft choice to any one of us. I am not too familiar w/ yahoo groups, but apparently it would be simple enough for us all to join one and send e-mails out after we pick so he is able to say updated. Of course, there is no reason why we have to draft on rotoguru either other then its just right here and seems good. Unless there is any objection I say we allow the manager into the league...he definitely seems enthusiatic about joining. Before I give him a final answer I want to hear from you guys though to see if thats doable. If there are no major objections then I think we have our 12th.

Obviously we might need to push the draft back a few days at this point to figure everything out. We don't have a whole lot of time, but remember we are doing a 4 hour clock this year instead of 6 so it should run much smoother. If this manager works out we will take as long as we need to get set up for the draft(within reason), otherwise we might know fairly soon how that goes and we can start the draft Wed. at the same time as we planned for Monday.

The manager I had lined up backed out. At this point we have to procede without one. Cuddyer, Mauer, Arroyo, Zambrano and Young will all just sit this year out. This sucks, but what else can we do...its the 11th hour to say the least and everybody who wanted to join a league joined one already. I'll open up a draft forum tonight, but the clock can start Wed. 9:00 ET since I just told everyone it would start Wednesday. Don't feel obligated to pick until then, because I understand if given the circumstances not everyone is prepared. The clock will be 4 hours per pick and go from 9:00 AM to 12:00 PM ET. On the weekends we will have a 6 hour clock. This could change to 4 if neccessary as the baseball season approaches.

How do the call ups work exactly. If you have a prospect who pitched more than 50 IP last year you are able to call him up and keep him for free?

I'm confused how some teams had 7 players already on their major league roster coming into the draft.

Also is anyone interested in trading for any of my keepers? The only one I'm really attached to is Zambrano. Email me your proposals.

Players available are Mauer, Arroyo, Michael Young, and Cuddyer all for teh right price ofcourse.

What exactly are the rules about the clock? If, say, Jackhammers makes his pick on the back-end of the snake at 10:00 a.m. ET, that would give GF 4 hours to respond, and I would have to make my pick(s) before 6 p.m. But what if GF pulls the trigger early at, let's say, 11:00 a.m. Do I then have to make my move before 3 p.m., or do I still have the extra time I had originally planned upon? It can really get messy trying to plan your day around the draft if you have to constantly keep check on whether the others have drafted ahead of time.

This might not turn out to be a problem, but I would just like to clear matters up.

I'm trying to understand the rules, can I draft anothter teams prospect? And what does the 19 mean next to Alex Gordon?
146PhoenixV
      ID: 47239712
      Wed, Mar 07, 2007, 13:40
Re 145: No, you cannot draft another team's prospect. Those are protected, just like MLB keepers. The 19 next to Alex Gordon means, that he is "drafted" in the 19th round, because his owner called him up from the prospect list to his MLB roster. That way you can actually keep 5 MLB players + any number of prospect you want to call up before the draft. Of course, if you do that, you lose your last picks in the draft, so your total number of players will be the same as everyone else's.

For example, I called up Zumaya and Anthony Reyes from my prospects list, so I lose my 19th and 20th picks in the draft.

ouch, sorry man. I wish I could have helped you out. I was actually the one to text you...wouldn't I have felt foolish if I had a queue of yours sitting in my inbox. It looks like you are up to speed now though. I'll try to keep you updated on your picks. I should have sent a message to you sooner. Its hard for me because I am in and out w/ little internet connection during the day, but I'll do my best and everyone can make a concerted effort to let you know when you are up.

dang, I'm not setting a very good example am I? The draft hadn't moved a single pick since my last one, so I thought I'd be safe. Then it started moving and I got held up longer then expected. Sorry guys. With that said...I was planning on doing this anyways. We need to go to a four hour clock on the weekends. I'm really sorry you guys, but we are running out of time because many of us(obviously including me now) have not been good enough about queues and being around for picks. As we get towards the end here, we can be much more generous w/ the amount of queues we leave.

I have a suggestion for next year's draft routine:

Since the draft lasts 20 rounds and we have approximately 20 days to finish it, I say we try to do precisely one round each day. Every player should know exactly when he's expected to make his pick, so that, for example, at 9am Player 1 has to make his pick, at 10am Player 2 has to make his pick, and so forth, until Player 12 at 8pm. As Andrew previously noted, the clock is mostly there so that people can realize when they're up. If each player has a fixed hour at which he has to make his pick, we won't have that problem.

This would make it much easier to plan around the draft, and obviously we could still do queues and such.

I would just like to echo Pheonix's sentiments. You have been a big help to me while I've been super busy.

I just sent everyone an e-mail with league signup info. I forgot to mention it in the e-mail, but I'm not using my primary yahoo account for the league, so make sure to continue using my main e-mail address and not the one I have associated with the League. If you didn't get the e-mail please let me know.

We are getting close to the end here, lets try to bust out these last few rounds and get on to the prospect draft. Nobody let me forget, I want to make sure I see if there is a way to lock prospects from being picked up(I know you can lock managers, but I dunno about specific players) so we dont have the same problems with prospects as last year.

Question:

Would everyone be against holding off on the prospect draft until at least Monday?

As I mentioned earlier, I'll be leaving on vacation early tomorrow morning, and while I don't mind picking up the last couple of available scraps to fill out my bench (I'm assuming we're not finishing tonight) when I return, I'd strongly prefer not to leave a long queue full of prospects that I won't be able to adjust as certain players are scooped up. As amazing as it seems in this day and age, I will have NO internet access between about 10:30 tonight and sometime late Sunday evening.

I believe the draft order is reversed from the major league draft and then it's business as usual. If you have kept 1 prospect, you lose your 5th-rounder. If you have kept 2 prospects, you lose your 5th- and 4th-rounder, and so on...

I have made a chart, which I'll be happy to post here if needed....

Pitchers–max. 50 Major League Innings or 10 appearances–whichever comes first
Batters–max. 160 Major league At Bats

Well mainly I was looking to drop Esteve an Huber. I can't imagine anyone was going to draft them in the real draft. I can't even find anything about esteve anywhere and Huber has no where to play being blocked by a bunch of young players.

I understand its late, but I think my team was hurt enough by keeping Cuddyer and Arroyo.

I would have done that trade in a heartbeat. Arroyo is a 10th rounder at best without keepers in a 12 team league. Cuddyer? You got to be kidding me.

Those were some bold picks, oasis. I really thought about taking either Liriano or Lincecum with my last pick, but I didn't like my bench depth enough. Those two players could pay some HUGE dividends next year...

IHP, I see no problem with you dropping any prospects, just post which ones you want to drop here. We can wait until next monday for the prospect draft, thats fine w/ me. I'll post the draft order and all that in a new thread for prospect picks Saturday or Sunday and we can wait to start the clock until Monday 9:00 AM ET. We'll go with a 6 hour clock. I know last year I made picks for some managers who were MIA, I will not be doing that this year. If your pick is skipped, sorry but that sucks for you. We need to see this one through to the end and leave queues if we arent going to be available.

JackHammers and Wazaaap_Guy have still yet to register at yahoo. That needs to be done ASAP.

BTW, to tell the truth, part of me really wanted to keep Liriano as one of my 5 this year. I never would have done it, but I'd be lying if I said I didn't think about it. Once it was for sure he'd be out for the year, and then once the draft got rolling I just forgot about him... didn't think a pitcher out for the year would even get drafted.

Papelbon will once again be Boston's closer. Which means, I am stacked at the Closer position and are probably in need of a good starting pitcher.

I currently have Wagner, Papelbon, Fuentes, Borowski and David Weathers.

If anyone needs a closer, and have a SP to deal, here's where to find them. Drop a line guys.

Later.

Cool prospect chart Oasis, you are the CHARTMASTER

I'm going to make a draft matrix for this...but basically most people have 2-3 rounds. It just depends on how many prospects you need. In your case JackHammers, you only need to draft 1 prospect.

I'll open up the prospect draft forum this evening, and the clock will start tomorrow morning. Lets get this thing done quickly.

Question here...

If I called up 1 of my prospects, and kept the rest of mine, does that mean I get one pick in the prospect draft, or NO picks?

Re 354: You get 1 pick.

If my prospect chart is correct, you would pick 5th in the 1st round and then no more picks for you, but don't hold me to it....

sorry guys if you saw that post...wrong thread.

The draft thread is open here.

Clock starts in the morning. The draft order (as best as I could tell doing it quickly) is posted in the opening message. If you see any errors please say something soon.

What's the deal about CLV? Doesn't he need to make three more picks in our regular draft?

Last year I knew exactly who I wanted (Kendrick) and successfully traded up to get him. This year, I have NO idea, who I want.........

So what are the rules? The clock is 4 hours from 9 am to 12 pm, or how are we doing this?

By the way, I know this isn't that big of a deal, but how do we sort the starting waiver priority out? I would think it unfair to make it the reverse of the draft order, because that would give me a disadvantage in both the prospect draft and the first waiver pick-up.

I suppose the rules are the same in the prospect draft, but maybe we'll return to a 6-hour-clock in the weekends. I guess that's up the commish. It doesn't matter to me, since I only have 1 pick and will be getting it in shortly.

The waiver priority will be reverse order of the standings from last year.

I previously stated 6 hour clock for this draft, but if you guys want to change it to 4 that is fine by mean.

BTW, I may be looking to trade up in this round to make a pick if anyone is interested in trading down. We could swap 1st and 2nd round picks maybe or I could give up something else...I dunno. Somebody send me an e-mail if they are interested.

The league constitution says "No prospects can be added or dropped between the end of the regular season and the prospect draft." but we kind of played with the timing a bit and declared keepers and such much later. I'm going to say, that after the original deadline to declare them, except in the case of IHP, no drops/adds can happen until afer the prospect draft is finished. And then it goes by the waiver priority system.

IHP- actually, I made a mistake...the guy I wanted was already on a prospect roster...I missed him the first time I did Ctrl-F I guess.

WG- off the constitution

"· Players who are dropped from a prospect roster who still qualify as prospects may be signed to another team’s prospect roster, but the manager who picks the prospect up must give up their waiver priority and must drop or call up a prospect to keep the rosters under the limit.
· When a prospect claim is made it is announced to the whole league, within 48 hours, any manager with a higher waiver priority can make a claim for that prospect. To make your claim post it on The Rotoguru.com discussion thread. The time stamp will be used to resolve all discrepancies as to when the time is up."

Also added is this..."A player must have played at least one minor league season and have been drafted in any capacity at least once to be added (via draft, free agency or trade) to a prospect list."

Only previously owned prospects can be added or dropped - The rule was originally made to keep a manager from just calling up all their prospects and declaring 5 more and to keep the prospect draft relevant... But I think with drops its a little different.

We'll just have to address it as it comes up, because it really didn't last year.

Hey guys, just finished inputting the draft results...a couple players weren't in the database though.

Rev- Matt Chico and Sammy Sosa

IHP- M.Lindstrom

CLV- you can just pick up your final 3 players whenever

I know we don't have a lot of pressure w/ this prospect draft, but just out of consideration we all need to make picks as quickly as possible. I hope it moves quicker in the next few days.

I can't even believe James Loney was available...nice pick. I have all my leagues so mixed up, and this league has by far taken the worst hit. I've missed out on so many players I've wanted when I had opportunities to take them. Next year I'm going to have to do less leagues, because this is getting crazy.

I'm not trying to be a Dudley Do-Right here, but I strongly suggest that when you want to pick up players you check post 402 in this thread or look here and check that the player you want isn't protected. If you don't see him, hit CTRL-F and do a search, just to be really sure.

It would a little annoying to miss out on the playoffs, because the guy in front of you used a guy he wasn't allowed to use. But that's just me and my opinion.....

Agreed, Dudley Do-Right, ehrm, oasis. :)

Also, in the first days of the season, remember not to pick up the players that Yahoo hasn't made available yet (see post 380-381). I want my Hermanson!

I looked into trying to blck specific players, and I just can't do it...but what I can probably due is set their waiver date some time way in the future if you notify me and then no one will be able to pick them up.

For instance. Yusnerios Petit is on Jackhammers roster. Well I can set Petit's waiver date for October 30th(i think), and that way no one can pick him up...then if Jackhammers wants to call him up when he is pitching gems for my dbacks in august I can just change the waiver date so he can pick him up.

I can change waiver dates on all the prospects, everybody just needs to tell me as they are added to yahoo who to do it for. If you don't ask me to do it, I won't. Thats just too much for me to track on my own.

When the players like sosa and hermanson etc get added, let me know and I'll change their waiver dates so they can be added immediately w/ out a problem.

I lied...I just tried to verify it and I can't actually do that waiver thing...it was a good idea though. Atleast I think so.

Sosa, Hermanson and Lindstrom are all added to yahoo and I just made them all free agents. We are still waiting on Chico I guess.
