Only 25 rounds to go. The draft order has been set. Let the picking begin

The question came up about trading draft pick or players for draft picks. I believe trading is allowed in all the RIBC leagues so they are allowed here. On The Clock handles draft picks very well though the commish has to enter them. Trading players just needs to be stated and confirmed in the forum. When players and picks are involved, please make sure no one ends up with more than 25 players/picks.

Position eligibility is determined exclusively by Yahoo. Check the game site for for who is eligible where.

I'm not sure how the RIBC rules have changed since the last time I played but...

I'm open to trading down in the first round, email me and we'll talk.

So how does this work....there is no clock???

Just wondering. I'm going to make a queue tommorrow, and I'll designate some pickers to keep the draft moving. If I don't answer questions from tommorrow evening - Sunday evening it's because I will be drinking beer in the Keys.

If anyone wants to trade up, i'll be waiting for a proposal for the next 10-15 minutes. I know that's a short amount of time but I don't want to hold up the draft.

BTW I'm here... Don't really have a good draft list ready yet, but I should be good for a few rounds.

Thanks to the Tigers I was forced to watch more Baseball last year. It's been 4-5 years now since I've been a serious Gurupie, but I'm back and I plan on winning this thing.

Now, about all those new players......

As soon as Tequila makes his 2 picks I'm going to turn the clock on and set it a six hours except between midnight and 7am Eastern. Jaydog and Tequila do not get more than 6 hrs for their consecutive picks. If you time out you will be able to make up your pick at any time from the remaining player pool.

The draft is moving along great, mainly because of the use of the queue.

A reminder that if you have entered players in the queue, no one, including the commish can see them unless you make it available. If it's available, the commish and any designated pickers can see it. You can choose to only show the top pick or the entire queue.

As commish, if it's your turn and the queue is activated, I will select the top entry for you.

Email me and we'll discuss the scenarios.

Incidentally, i'm thrilled Weeks and Lopez were taken ahead of me.

If either was still available, I would have taken whomever it was, and then spent 162 games wondering why I didn't take Sheets.

Whew!

I'm going to halt the draft after pick 8.16 and give Tequila some time to make the 2 picks he missed. Everyone will have made 1 pick after his misses and I think that's enough of a penalty for him. Jaydog, please just make one of your upcoming picks. Tequila, email me your 2 picks so I can enter then before I turn the draft back on.

Thanks

There are some players available for the draft that do not appear yet in Yahoo, Sammy Sosa for example. You can draft one of these but since I can't enter him in Yahoo, I'll find a 'no body' and enter him. You will have first rights to the player you drafted as long as you keep the 'no body' on your roster. If this happens, I'll post a notice.

Keep up the good work on the queues

All the 'good' utility players are gone. Each one of them taken within a handful of picks before my queue. That's what happens. Sanchez, Aurillia. All my next pick when they were taken.

I always like to have a few guys on the bench that can fill in at multiple positions when the 'stars' come down with DTD injuries. Allows for more pitchers in the rotation. (That being said, I left my cheat-sheet at home so keep the picks slow today!)

That's the way the cookie crumbles.

BTW I haven't picked anyone that retired yet have I?

It looks like the draft is winding down now. That was pretty easy. Props again to "on the clock" from KKB, that thing is amazing. We will be done in a shade over 12 days, not too shabby.

Considering my heavily weighted queue, I think I did okay when I came back to try and fill the rest of my needs the best that I could. I'm scratching my head pretty badly with the Nick Johnson pick in the 18th. I seriously talked down his injury in my head numerous times and was able to convince myself that he would be back soon. Well, that news continues to get worse by the day. It could be a completely wasted pick, and with Helms still available, it could sting pretty badly.

But I tried. I'm looking to make deals, and if someone is trying to get a hold of me, sometimes it is easier to post here and I'll see it much quicker. I don't check my emails all that much.

Lets get it on!

Fantastic effort by everyone to finish so fast. Now we have time to tweak our lineups.

The draft has been entered into Yahoo. Please, please check under 'Draft Results' and make sure your team has been entered correctly. It's easier to fix mistakes before I tell Yahoo we're ready.

Seven players, listed below, were drafted that are not yet listed in Yahoo. I have arbitrarily substituted non-drafted players into those slots until such time as Yahoo adds them. As long as the managers who drafted these players keep the substitutes on their roster they have rights to the player drafted. If you drop one of the subs to pick up another free agents you lose your rights and the drafted player will become a free agent.

Sammy Sosa shows as Paul Bako
Al Reyes->Gary Bennett
Justin Upton->Jason LaRue
Matt Lindstrom->Matt Treanor
Alex Sanchez->Doug Mirabelli
Dustin Hermanson->Pete Orr
Josh Hamilton->Vance Wilson

I will wait until Thursday to release the draft so please get hold of me before then if there is a problem.

Who all is interested in making this a PLUS league? $125/16 is only $7.82 per user.

Or if 13 of the 16 are going to pay for StatTracker anyway? I usually do!

Rosters have been populated. You can see and move your players around in the Friday March 23 window. Free agents will be available 3/25. When Yahoo gets around to adding new players they will probably go in with a delayed free agency. Those with rights to those players (see post #72) should NOT put in a claim until they become available as it will mess up your waiver status.

If someone wants to claim one of the place setters let me know.

Good luck.
