Thanks. Would of done it but not totally sure on how to and knowing me I would of probably messed up.

Anyways I'm going to send a queue off to Tree. Like I said not sure it'll come to me and I plan on being up around 3:30 or so anyways.

See you all then

Yeah I almost took Lowry with my last pick, but with him Bonser and a few other decent options out there I tried to make sure I got a catcher who won't necessarily hurt my team.

I think with YouPlay we keep skipping him, but lets not talk about replacing him just yet. I mean, the guy was gone for two days, that doesnt mean he's not playing all season!

Sorry Rheo, I've been around just in meetings and stuff. Unfortunately work keeps getting in the way!

Got my "fast" draft tonite. Yahoo quick draft, 1 minute, 30 seconds each pick. This year I'm going to appreciate that so much more. I'll be done in time to watch Lost.

You guys in any other leagues? I'm in this one (slow draft, roto style), one with a bunch of college buddies (fast draft, H2H), and I alway do a smallworld/sportingnews Ultimate team (Salary Cap Based). I'm also a MLB.tv subscriber too. I figure they all provide something a little bit different.

Yeah, I really liked the Lowry pick. I also took a gamble on Kaz Matsui. I wanted him as a sleeper MI, and I kept figuring he'd slide further down, but sure enough he was taken!

Oh, and for those who think these last rounds are useless, my 25 round pick in the RIBC last year was a young right hander named Jonathan Paplebon!

Geez I'm in too many leagues this year including this one, The NBBL Keeper league that just started this year, an NL only keeper league I've been in for 10 years that has 12 teams, A 10 keeper 12 team league with friends, One at work, and the CMSL draft which I volunteered to help out and I now plan on taking over a dead team.

All,
Khahan posted in the other forum looking for an assistant drafter / possible replacement manager.

I wouldn't take the team as I already have one in Sally AA.
But, I do have my sheets from that draft and just looked at the team, and if you would like I can catch up the 4 needed picks for 17.8, 18.9, 19.8, and 20.9.

Would probably take me about half an hour.
Will let someone from the league decide.

I'd support it, its better than letting more players become unavailable.

That being said... you'll probably go ahead and take the top four guys I'm hoping fall to me! Ha, just kidding.

Lets keep this train moving guys! Just a few more rounds to go!

Hey all,
Goatlocker has graciously agreed to take over the draft for Youplaytowin. If YPTW has not checked in by friday, the team will default to Goat (assuming he wants it). If he does, this means I will need to set up a new yahoo league and everybody will need to make a new team in the new league ASAP FRIDAY.

Khahan,

If you have not submitted the offline draft (which I assume you havent), you can remove a manager from the league by going into the commishoiner tools. You have an option of removing or remove and banning. and then you can simply give out the league information to whomever will be taking over.

Nerf, thanks! I know Yahoo has taken big strides this year, but I didn't realize they had all those options.

Goat, you are welcome to take the team if you'd like. I do believe there is precedence from years past that allows a manager to have multiple teams.

If you'd prefer not to take it over, we appreciate your help with the draft and should be able to find a replacement manager if needed.

Hopefully YPTW will check in and we won't have to worry about it.

i'm going to be blunt again.

because i was asked, i kept my mouth shut on the pace of this draft. the first day i shut up, and the first day where i was largely unavailable to help out much, the draft ground to a complete halt.

on Tuesday, we got in 25 picks. that is HUGE for this draft. more than half of those were queue picks.

then, yesterday, we got in 8 picks, plus YPTW's make up picks.

please. can someone else at least try to give a damn? can people make queues, and SEND THEM TO MULTIPLE PEOPLE?

and can we please go to a 2 hour clock Khahan? it's thursday right now. i do not want to spend ANOTHER weekend on this draft.

Tree, we'll see how well things go today. We SHOULD be able to get through round 22 by the end of the day, that's 2 rounds.

Also, I can't find my stupid player list and I have to leave for work. I'll be on the road most of the day so I probably won't even be able to check in occassionally. Tree has my que, which, I believe should still be good for another 2-3 picks.

Thanks for the help.

Achess left me a queue, but to be honest, i don't understand it:

Need C>I>:
1. (player, 3b)
2. (player, 1b)
OR
3. (player, 1b)
4. (player, of)
OR
5. (player, C)
5. (player, P)

anyone wanna hazard what that means? does that mean i should draft the catcher first, then the third baseman? or just the first two picks in his queue?

Yeah, I think 1 and 2 are his top two choices. If one of those is taken, he wants 3 and 4, if one of those is taken he wants 5 and 6. Tier style. Seriously though, interpret it the best you can and make the pick. Lets just keep this moving!!!

With the announcement that Papelbon will likely be closing, I now have 5 closers. I could use another SP, so I'm offering up any of my closers (Ryan, Papelbon, Valverde, Borowski, Torres) for a comparable SP. I consider similar drafting round when comparing SP/RP.

If you're looking for a new interesting and good tasting beer to try you should get a bottle of this stuff. It comes in a wine sized bottle so its a good compromize. I had two bottles of this before a Met game last year and it helped ease the pain when Wagner blew the save.

IHP - i'll check it out. seems like it might be more hoppy than i prefer.

a lot of beers come in that size - in fact, Brooklyn Brewery has a new one (called "one"), that looks very intriguing, and i can't wait to try. i find Beer Advocate to be a very useful site...

GL - Khahan's queue is empty. nothing left.

Guys, a number of teams have not even set their starting line up yet!!!! I set Achess' for him because he posted he's having log in problems. But I saw at least 3 other rosters that aren't set.

I'm torn between setting them because I was this to be a truly competitive league and leaving them as they are because we're all adults and I'm not here to babysit any of you. In the end, I decided not to babysit anybody's teams. Hope you guys all log in and check your teams out soon.

Dayton, are you just giving up?

If so, whatever, do not ruin it for everyone else.

I hope you guys wanted to just give everyone a quick laugh. There is no way that trade should ever be allowed to go through unless Hanley Ramirez and Chris Ray come down with season ending injuries tonight.

For anyone who hasn't logged into the site...

Dmitri Young, Luke Scott, Carlos Silva, and Tim Wakefield

for

Hanley Ramirez, Chris Ray, and Scott Linebrink

so, tell me why you think that is a bad trade.

i'll tell you why i think it's a perfectly acceptable trade, even though there is no reason for me to do so.

i'm way over in IP. he's way under. a couple decent SPs could help him move several notches up in wins and Ks, two areas that are fairly bunched up.

he's got one closer on his team - a closer having a mediocre season at best. he wasn't going to do anything more than finish in the bottom three with one mediocre closer.

he's got guys like Nelson Cruz, Jason Kubel, and Chris Duffy in his OF slots - all guys with a BELOW .300 OBP and a BELOW .350 SLG. Luke Scott is a quality upgrade over any of those guys.

Dmitri Young is going at a .387 and .468 clip. that instantly makes him one of the better players on his squad.

yea - giving up Hanley Ramirez is giving up quite a bit. but, when your team is struggling, sometimes you have to give up a stud to gain some players you can plug into other holes. and if this was a keeper league, this trade would be pretty lopsided.

but looking at the needs of the teams involved, it's a pretty balanced deal. obviously, i think i got the better end of the stick, but i wouldn't make an offer where i thought i was getting the worst end of the stick.

I'm not going to get into a pissing contest, but Sean Casey, Cliff Floyd, Mark Grudzielanek, Jay Payton, Kevin Millar, Endy Chavez are all upgrades by that crteria and all can be found after spending a whopping 10 seconds on the first page of the waiver wire.

Also, guys like Paul Byrd and Jeff Francis are available on the WW - both with stats that make them hands down choices over Silva. Incidentally, Byrd pitches on a team that might win 100 games.

Dayton is so far under on IP b/c he has chosen to not pick up any starters. Your mediocre position players are not especially better than the position players available on the waiver wire.

Also, your talking about his needs...this trade leaves him w/ the Red Sox combo of Pedroia and Core as his SS's. Just a tad bit of a downgrade from Hanley, eh?

Anyways, it's out of my hands. The rest of the league and the commish will have to decide.

I'm not going to get into a pissing contest...

then why did you start?

the Red Sox combo of Pedroia and Core as his SS's. Just a tad bit of a downgrade from Hanley, eh?

over the last 30 days:
Ramirez: .354 OBP, .466 SLG, 20 runs, 6 RBIs, 9 SBs
Cora: .357 OBP, .471 SLG, 4 runs, 9 RBIs, 0 SB
Pedroia: .462 OBP, .610 SLG, 12 runs, 8 RBIs, 0 SB

Cora edges Ramirez in OBP, SLG, and Ribbies. Pedroia blows him a way in OBP, SLG, and Ribbies, with considerably fewer ABs.

neither of them are going to catch Ramirez in SB, but to call them scrubs, as you've essentially done, is simply wrong.

to me, you're putting too much stock into "name" and not enough into "numbers"...

If the trade goes through, I look forward to offering you each of these guys straight up for Hanley.

Carlos Pena - last month OPS - 1142
Edwin Encarnacion - last month OPS - 942
Mike Redmond - last month OPS - 937

All guys I picked up from the WW btw.

I wont be surprised when you decline.

Tree...of course YOU think its a good deal for both teams, but honestly, this is one of the most one-sided "I give up" trades I have ever seen. What is even sadder is you are trying to justify its fairness. Get real.

The numbers? I just checked my 14 team Yahoo league, and Tree, all those scrubs you are dumping off are still available on the waiver wire. And Ramirez and Ray? They are both in the top 100 of the Yahoo rankings.

Tree...forget trying to justify a terrible trade, just be happy you screwed over an owner who gave up on his team. *cough collusion cough*

DT - do you really think this was collusion?

if you're going to accuse me of cheating, then don't hide under a socko name. man up and accuse me using your real handle.

for the record, this was a simple offer-and-accept. i made an offer, and another owner accepted.

The current trade is being reviewed. I do not need any more emails concerning this trade from within the league unless I specifically ask for them.

why is Yahoo listing Melvin Mora as NA and not as DL?
according to mlb.com he is on the 15 day disabled list since July 13.

because of that I needed to drop 2 players instead of 1. Thanks Yahoo!

Don't look now, but here come the Nerfherders!

I think its 2-6 move up unless there's a team that doesnt accept the invitation, in which case 7th moves up. That's what happened to me two years ago. Hoping for the same thing this year.

Nice, I'm having a very solid late season surge. I do believe there is an outside chance at to 6 for me. Not bad for a guy who was fighting to stay out of the basement at the All-star break.

I could be wrong but I thought when I asked I was told 2-4 move up only this year because there are 2 double A leagues.
