Welcome all to the RIBC AA Eastern League sign up thread. We will work off of Kafenatid.net (league still to be set up, but a link will be provided).
The first 13 managers to sign up will receive the slot. Please, if you have a team in another league, do not sign up yet. YOu can email me and ask to be held as a reserve if we need to fill out space, but my leagues have always filled up fast.
Once you sign up here WITH A VALID EMAIL ADDRESS, I will email you the log in info for both the kafenatid draft league and the yahoo league where we will conduct the season.
I am assuming same categories as last year.

Khahan - do me a favor? when you email something about this league in the pre-season, use the email above, plus the one you normally use for me? this one is my "overflow" for baseball. lol

Ok all, we need somebody else to step up and be commish of this years Eastern League. I'm in AAA this year, sorry guys.
Whoever it is, I already have the kafenatid league set up. When you figure out who the commish is, post here w/ email or email me and I will send the new commish all info.
Until I see no reason not to take sign ups and keep the league going. I just can't start up the Yahoo league because yahoo requires the commish to be in it.

Actually, scratch that part about kafenatid. I removed myself as manager and it deleted the league!
But still, you've got a great foundation to start the league, still just need somebody step up and take over. Most of your players are already here.

I'll commish. I was going to take this season off to relax and just play, but what the heck. We have a good group here and since we have an early start, I expect the draft to run smoothly.
The schedule presents an extra challenge this season. The first two regular season games are in Tokyo on March 25-26 (Boston vs. Oakland). If we want to include those games, we should aim to finish the draft by that time. Last year's RIFC draft took 16 days. I'd like to give us a couple of extra days, so I propose that we open the draft with no clock on Monday, March 3rd and start the clock on Wednesday, March 5th.
Do I hear any preferences one way or the other? Is a draft from March 3-23 palatable to everyone?
We'll be using Kafenatid to draft and will begin with a 6 hour running clock with a pause of 6 hours between midnight-6AM or 1AM-7AM, whatever the group prefers. I'll send that info as soon as I get it. I'm sending out the Yahoo invites tonight. Please sign up or let me know if you did not get the invite.
A couple of things to note:
-please put your RotoGuru handle in your team name on the Yahoo game site. It will help me keep track of who's who.
-please let me know of any extenuating circumstances as far as time differences or other related issues concerning the draft dates or times.
Once we fill the league, we'll begin the process by choosing our draft slots. So please check in daily, I'm going to try to keep things moving.

MJD Thanks for comishing. Like Matt G I registered differently Goldcoach (rotoguru) = Goldgloves (team. Since each real team plays the same # of games it would be fairest to include the Boston Oakland games in Toyko. Otherwise fantasy teams that draft players from those real teams will miss two games.

Whatever names are fine. I made myself a chart. Just a couple of clarifications. In Kafenatid what are the RotoGuru handles for eserel, DallasHomer, and adona72001.

If you can't match a team name on Yahoo with its owner, a view to the Managers page should help to identify those teams.
another note:
as some of you know I am from Austria and my time is 6 hours ahead of ET. in the past I had no problem with keeping up during the drafts and leaving queues while I sleep, so this should be a non-issue.

Bags - you do realize that you are eligible for a AAA league, don't you? It's OK if you want to play in AA instead, but I thought I'd point out the apparent discrepancy.

mjd - thanks for Commishing. I had to laugh at your password for Kafenatid though. I do the same thing when I organize leagues just to take a jab at my buddies. In one Football league we've had for 8+years, the winner of the league gets to name it for the following year. I have now won 2 years running, so the League "Bow Down to King Greg" will be in it's 2nd year next year - hahahahaha

We now need 1 more manager.
MBT posted over on the qualifier thread. He's not on the initial AAA list, so I invited him to sign up here.
I guess it is conceivable that another one or more of us could get bumped up to fill out AAA, so if anyone else signs up we'll have an alternates list.

i recommend the queue system that kafenatid has. it's pretty excellent, and combined with leaving SPECIFIC instructions here, like "for my 3rd pick, take the top ranked OF on my list, and for my 4th round pick i want the top ranked third baseman"...

53-I'll apply 2 sets of random numbers to the list of names in the league to come up with an order 1 through 16. The first person gets to pick where he wants to draft. All subsequent managers get to pick in this order. The last manager is stuck with whatever is left.
Please note, this is a serpentine draft. If you have limited internet access during the day, you might want to try to grab an end slot (1 or 16) so you can make your picks consecutively.
