Well, some players are valued at $1 and with the money low now some people want a chance to get the player for a $1. If they are not the first to throw them out then they cant bid a dollar. IT is minor, but it is an advantage, that will get bigger as the money gets smaller.

Win a player, throw out a player, until your roster is full. That's the system we agreed to. We could have done it the other way, whereby when your nominated was bought, you throw out a player, but we didn't.

I would propose next year we all throw a player out to start. Then in a predetermined order when a player is bought we throw out a player in snake fashion

I know there are only 3, but everyone wanted to keep it that players that still owe players, but cannot fit them just dont post one.. that will decrease board and players have an unlimited time to post a players. With that being said we still have time so we are ok.
At this point in the draft in becomes advantages to wait to announce your players because soon everyone will be nearly out of money and you can the player you are targetting for cheaper. With so many players to be named to the board I wonder if people are intentionally waiting for this reason. If this may be the case i think we should set a limit for when you can post your players by (like 8 hrs so plenty of time since we are ahead of schedule but still keeps things moving) (i randomly hit enter so it doesnt scroll really far not sure how will turn out)

well if people were up to date adding palyers we would have 15 players on the board which is fine. jsut people are being real slow adding them. i dont think its a function of the lost players due to full rosters

yea eventually we will run into that problem altho I think it puts the people who have saved there money at a disadvantage if we allow people light on dollars access to players. i think it should only be addressed once we are only left with people with only enough money for $1 bids and can't add players. we do need a solution for this tho (currently only Ihatephilly is in this position i believe). We shoud have a solution before we get there.
Also if we do go with the 8 hour limit for adding players what happens when someone times out? we probably dont just want to let the board get light but there really isnt a fair way to add players at this point

if you let the team that needs the most player put them up it will work out. If they put up someone that is a hidden gem they will get out bid anyways. if they put up a bum they can have them. I dont see the problem.

wat about the players whose value is $1. or whose value at this stage is $1. If you dont think there is an advantage for leading then let me announce every player next year. And yes Ihatephilly should ahve to wait. he bid on players knowing that he was putting himself in this position and got players he wouldnt have otherwise been able to get as a result. odds are as the we get closer to the end other teams will find themselves in the same position as ihatephilly so he will not ahve to wait for everyone. what we do need to figure out is what happens when say there are 5 teams like this and everyone has there players

DPR, you could name every player for me next season. i have been doing auction drafts for 8 years now. there has never been a $1 player that has made any type of impact in any of my leagues. Now does this mean they never will? no, but it is unlikely.

There seems to be a big stink about this so this is what I have come up with and this is what we will use.
If we get to the point where there are only manager left with $1 max bid I will enter all those managers names into a random draft order selector.
So basically say there are 3 teams left
Team A: Has $3 and needs 3 players still Team B: Has $1 and needs 1 player Team C; Has $2 and needs 2 players
I will enter them into a random draft generator (online that emails results so you know its fair)
So the results can be for example.
Round 1
Team B Team A Team C
After that round of picks, team B will have filled its roster requirement and no longer needs to pick. Then I would just enter Team A and Team C in the generator.
Round 2 Team C Team A
I will do this generator until all rosters have been completed or there is only 1 manager remaining in which he would just name all the players he wanted for $1 since he would be the only manager that still needs players.

A way does need to be sorted out dpr is right, I would suggest either random mini draft at end or something else. It also isnt fair for everyone to hold $1 bets in hopes of injuries/changes to closers etc for the next few days.

JT, could we also institute some sort of maximum time you can have after winning a bid to name a player, I think 8 hours (non freeze) is fair amount as you should be checking every 8 hours to make sure you weren't bid up.
